is there a quick way to silence any ringtone or notification on the phone. when your in a public place and suddenly your phone is the loudest thing on earth.i'd like to be able to push a button or do something that makes it immediately stop. with my blackberry i pushed the buttons on the side (volume buttons) and it made it stop.i can't figure it out on the hero.

How can I completely silence everything in the phone? I long press the red end button and from the pop up, I choose silent. That works for phone calls / email notifications / text notifications. However, after I did that, I went to Slacker and it started playing (even though I had the silent icon in the notification area). I had to then press the down volume key to turn off the media volume.Is there a way to make everything silent without downloading a 3rd party app?

Once I do call. i get like 5 messages. anyone else have this problem? Quite frustrating. Called sprint to reset network n stuff but still no resolution. They said to hard reset but I'm reluctant.

However, now neither the flip to silence the phone on an incoming call feature (the setting is on) OR the flip to activate the speakerphone when in a call now works. The flip to silence the phone on an incoming call was working before the firmware update.

But the mobile data option doesn't seem to affect my mobile network toggle. I am guessing this app was meant for other androids. View 4 Replies View RelatedI came to the Hero from the iPhone where there was a way to quickly scroll back up to the top of a webpage by clicking on the top of the address bar - in the included browser on the hero if I read a long vertical site I have to scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll some more to get back to the top - am I missing something or is this really the only way to do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince I got my Hero in November, I've been able to use the internet while on a phone call through my Bluetooth headset.I've done it hundreds of times.Everything from surfing the web to clicking and viewing picture links in Twitter texts.Suddenly, tonight, I tried to do it and noticed that I had no internet connection.As soon as I hung up from the call, the internet kicked back on.I looked up what I was trying to look up and when I got another phone call, it kicked off again.I have looked up this issue and have read repeatedly that you can't do this on a CDMA network.My question is this...why was I able to do it for months and suddenly I'm not? This will bring you to a menu that gives you the option to erase user data or not, choosing yes will reset firmware to factory and you will lose ALL settings, including wallpapers, ringtones, etc, but your sd card will remain untouched... if you brick your hero this should help, but im not claiming responsibility if it doesnt.
If I'm using like Google Listen's Podcast app, or a music app, is there some option to get those to pause or turn off when a phone call comes in?

Does anybody know if it is possible, or how, to get the click-to-call initiated calls to show up as the person that I was calling in my phone's call log?

- Ringer and vibrate are enabled
- Someone calls you
- Swipe down to answer, swipe up to ignore
- You wish to stop phone ringing but not necessarily dismiss/ignore the call as the other person gets through to voicemail and knows you rejected their call
There must be an easy way to make it silent yet not let the other person know you don't want to answer right now?I know you can flip the phone over to achieve exactly this, but is it achievable by pressing something without having to flip the phone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
I did the 2.1 upgrade and camera seems to have same lagginess. Does anyone have any pointers for how to set camera for responsive pics (I have a 2 year old)? I remember seeing some tips when I first got the phone last year and it helped...I'm having no luck my own. Also, when I go to send a pic with text, it is compressing the pics very small and the quality goes to crap. Went into text setting and set the file size to the largest, but it doesn't seem to help.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy sprint HTC hero for some reason will all the sudden stop allowing me to get text messages and mine that I send don't seem to reach the phone I am sending it to. It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.
