Everything was working fine and suddenly the sound and vibrate no longer work. I use hancent and changed the notifications there and on my home screen settings too, what's up?

Is it just me, or has anyone else out there suddenly stopped receiving email notification? I don't think I have changed anything, and I've not added a task killer. I have always received email notification before. I have notification allowed in gmail, email, and k9, and still no notification: I have to go into the application and do a manual refresh. I use a "@googlemail.com ". account on orange UK.

View 3 Replies View RelatedDidn't do anything different. All of a sudden it stopped working. It sees it and connects to it, but can't browse the web or update from other apps, etc. Rebooted phone and told it to "forget" my connection and reset it. Nothing helped. Other computers in the house connect fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I was at work today browsing the market and suddenly my screen went black. I tried pressing the power button to wake it but got nothing. After a few minutes of waiting, I pulled the battery. The phone will boot past the "Samsung", "Galaxy S" and "Verizon" screens, but gets stuck on the Verizon one for a while then goes dark. The soft buttons on the bottom stay lit. That's it. I've probably done it 10-15 times through the evening now, and I get no farther.
I wasn't doing anything particularly taxing at the time, and I haven't added anything recently that would have caused a change in any system files. I'm running voodoo v.2 with the OCLF (because it won't uninstall) and all has been well for almost six weeks now... then all of a sudden this happens.
I'm thinking maybe I need to learn exactly what Odin is and how to use it, but any help that you can give would be great.
I've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.
I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.
Recently I noticed that my LED has stopped flashing when I receive a text and was wondering if anyone had this problem and/or knew how to fix it. I'm rooted and running Bugless Beast V0.8 with adamz LV kernel.

My router is still working and my laptop is working just fine through wireless so nor sure what the problem is. I tried turning the wireles@ on phone off and on.. no change. Tried powering off and,on. no change. Any ideas?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy daughter's ZTE Supreme suddenly stopped working tonight. She uses a pattern on her touch screen to unlock it, and the touch screen wasn't registering. When I took it to look at it, I noticed that the phone was overheating. I popped the battery, let it cool down completely, and tried again. Same thing - unresponsive touch screen and it pretty much immediately overheated.

I have two Gmail accounts and one school email app. All of the settings are set to check every 5 minutes. All three email accounts have been syncing fine for the first two days that I have had the phone, but all of a sudden the two Gmail accounts have stopped autosyncing. However, none of the settings have changed. My school email receives all my emails every 5 minutes, but my two Gmail accounts will only get the email once I enter the accounts and do a manual sync. Both of my Gmail accounts are set to IMAP and they are all on the right settings.

I'm on vodafone and when i try to refresh the news feed, i keep getting a "an error had occurred while fetching data (null)" message appearing. It's the original Facebook app on the phone, and i've never had any problems with it before, so am a little confused why it has suddenly stopped working. I haven't changed any settings or anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUp until several days ago/yesterday you could scroll through the home screens in a circular manner( ie swiping the finger in one direction while the last screen would be replaced by the first one). Now all the sudden I see that my screens are like between two walls, when you reach the right or the left end you can't continiue further.
Is this some change in the settings someone made accidentally?

Im newbie android user and so far loving it. I had a blackberry previous to my new fascinate and was happy with it but am way happier with my fascinate. Although, I'm having a problem (maybe it's normal for the droids and this phone) with my email notifications and FB notifications. I have my aol (primary) and yahoo emails on my home page but don't get notified when I have a new email. I have to physically open up the email icon. Is that normal for this phone? or is there a way to have a notification on that top bar (where txt msg notif. are) when I do get and email? Facebook know it's not a necessary thing but I was used to with my BB that I'd get a notification star on my FB icon when I had a new message/notification. Is there a way to have that on my FB here. The only way I know I have any FB notifications is when I physically open my FB icon and see a star on the notification bar at the bottom of my screen. I don't even know if fascinate and FB offer this kind of notification but if it does I'd like so enable it. I'm also having a problem syncing my fb contacts with my phone contacts. I don't know if its because my FB acct is under a different email than the gmail acct you need for the fascinate.

The only time I see that there's an update, is when that application is actually opened. This unit is set to update at the minimum.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo since I got the phone on Thursday, at random, I'll get these popup crash messages, that say "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly" it has a "Force Close" button, which doesn't seem to change anything other than to acknowlege the message.It will happen at random, sometimes while I'm on the home screen, or sending a text message, but more recently, as I was trying to manage & link contacts. When I searched for this message it seemed to be related to people using Gmail, but I always get this message when I'm doing other things and not even touching my Gmail account.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used chompSMS, and after updating to their 4.6 version, I was no longer able to receive text messages. I tried everything and finally resorted to doing a factory reset, now everything is working, and I am receiving all the messages I was supposed to get during the period it wasn't working. Now that I am getting all the messages, I realize that I wasn't getting them from before the update as well. I guess chomp is not to blame.

Is there a way to either:
a) set the native text appl so that there is no content preview in the notification bar, or
b) with Handcent still have the special puzzle piece show up on your lock screen when you have a new text message?
I really liked how that puzzle piece showed up but now it is gone and I suspect it is ever since I installed Handcent and I don't know how to get it back.
Follow up question -- if I go back to the native text app, is there a way to increase the font size of incoming and outgoing messages? I don't want to have to put my reading glasses on everytime I get a text.
I'm coming from the droid which showed when a text/MMS was sent successfully but i don't see this on the Fascinate. I can't find this option.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI accidentally hit the speaker on the keyboard while in text mode a few times and I just assumed it was for searching BING. Last night I hit it and decided to try to search with it.... but instead what I said got typed into the text that was open!!!! I was blown away! So then I started texting my Bro-In-Law via voice and although it's not perfect, it is very neat! I wish I could read to it and train it better on my Pittsburgh-ees, but if I pause at each word and announciate, it is almost perfect. I just cant talk totally normal. All in all, that is a super cool feature that WinMobilePro could not match.... no way no how. Me likes!
