so my last phone was the palm pre and I could send text messages while I was on the phone now with this epic I can send them and they say sent but they dont get received until I hang up the phone call I am on whats the problem here, why did this work on my pre buy not on the more advanced phone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was talking on the phone, and another call came in (call waiting). Suddenly, my phone just restarted itself. Fortunately the reboot time is very fast, but of all the bugs to possibly run into on any cell phone, the scariest is the idea of dropping calls. I am convinced this may be a software glitch that will get fixed with an update.
View 7 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else get bad quality at medium to higher volumes through normal calls (not speakerphone). Anything over two notches from muted gives me a wierd vibrating noise when the other end is talking semi high pitched and consistently. It sounds almost robotic or like paper. I didnt know if this was just my phone, the majority, or all epics suffer from this problem.

View 33 Replies View RelatedSo I've been on the fence regarding the Epic or Evo for awhile now and have been going back and forth. Overall, I think the specs of the Epic win-out but the support (both HTC and community) for Evo is far superior. All of the debates about hardware and I havn't been able to find any real comparison regarding call quality. Since I actually plan to talk on the phone, what do those of you have one or the other or both have to say about sound/call quality? Ultimately, I think this will be the most important factor in my decision.
View 9 Replies View RelatedHas anyone figured out how to do this? When I hold my finger on a text and choose forward, I only get the box where I have to type in each contact individually. Is there a way to show a list of my contacts when forwarding or at least a way to forward to a group? I have groups set up, but there doesnt seem to be a way to access them when forwarding. I have tried every option and every menu and cant find out how to do this on the Epic?

View 1 Replies View RelatedGot the Samsung Desk Dock for easy re-charging and using phone on nightstand. If I use the Samsung Desk Home app from the market, that app automatically detects that the phone is in the dock and runs the app. However, no other app is able to detect that the phone is docked, even with the Desk/Home app uninstalled (i.e. not the default). My understanding is that the phone should send a signal to Android if the device is being docked. Then Android sends a broadcast to all apps that the device has been docked. I have tested with two different apps which are designed to run upon the phone being docked and neither detects the phone being docked. Without the Samsung dock app loaded, there is no change when the phone is docked. It seems like only the Samsung app is capable of detecting docking. Am I missing something? How can I get the Epic to send out the "normal" signal to other apps upon being docked?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes when im trying to make a call or send a text it wont go through. mostly with texting. I can see on the 3 icon that it gets stuck on sending. I have to turn the phone of and on and then wait a few secs and try again. Not a full shut off but a quick tap of the power button. It is very annoying. started happening last week. I havent done a complete reset of the phone cause i dont want to go through the whole reinstalling apps thing.

On my TP2 when on a call and a new incoming call comes in I can reject that call with a 'send txt' button and it send the caller a text I pre-created to let them know I am busy. Is it possible to do this on the DINC? 2. There is a free app my TP2 uses to record all calls automatically and it helps me because I cannot not write many times when I am driving or running network in a ceiling so the ability to playback a saved call is huge. Is there a app out there anyone use to record calls on the DINC? (pls do not concern me about the legal side this is for me and me only and there are apps that can do it which I am doing now)..

I found the option to change my outgoing text message under my settings, but now I just need to know how to use the feature. I tried it a few different ways with my son calling me while I was on another call, but I ended up dumping him into voicemail instead of sending the text message.
I'm new to the Android platform and Sprint so this may seem like a simple question. How do you get the phone to send your actual name (as displayed in the receiving phone's Caller ID) when making a phone call? I was able to set my name on my previous phones without any problem but the Samsung Epic and Sprint have me stumped. As a first step I did update my profile on Sprint and entered my real name as the one to display. I then updated my profile on the Epic but when I called my home phone "Unknown Name" was displayed on the Caller ID. Where can I enter my name so it will show up correctly on Caller ID.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to send a picture from my Gallery, via Gmail. I just click on the "share" button, then select Gmail.
However, I've sent it over 10 times for the past two days, to two of my email accounts. I've also tried sending another pic.but nothing. When the Gmail app thing opens, everything seems ok, and I fill in all the info and hit send. But nothing is being sent.
I know I could send calls straight to voicemail on my Samsung Moment, is there any way to do it with the Epic? I cannot figure it out, and I've got some people I really don't want to talk to that cannot take a hint.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had this happen to them? You place a call, and when you're done you attempt to hit the big red "END" button, but nothing happens? I've actually had the call counter tick off an extra 20-30 seconds before it hangs up.
Given that this is the main screen and not one of the capacitive buttons, I find this behavior very strange.
