I missed a call from my husband this morning and he said that he immediately received a text from me saying i was busy and would call him later. Well, I had not sent the message and yet there it is. Have looked and looked for a feature that may be causing that. I use Handscent. Any helpful info? I have had this phone 4 months and this has never happened.

I did the 2.1 upgrade and camera seems to have same lagginess. Does anyone have any pointers for how to set camera for responsive pics (I have a 2 year old)? I remember seeing some tips when I first got the phone last year and it helped...I'm having no luck my own. Also, when I go to send a pic with text, it is compressing the pics very small and the quality goes to crap. Went into text setting and set the file size to the largest, but it doesn't seem to help.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy sprint HTC hero for some reason will all the sudden stop allowing me to get text messages and mine that I send don't seem to reach the phone I am sending it to. It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.

Once I do call. i get like 5 messages. anyone else have this problem? Quite frustrating. Called sprint to reset network n stuff but still no resolution. They said to hard reset but I'm reluctant.

I hit the Decline button which is supposed to send the call directly to VM, but it only made the screen go away. I kept getting the beep notification that another call was trying to get through and then the choppy dial tone hang up signal after the call eventually made it to VM.

So.....I did send out 100+ messages within like 5 minutes...just sending out a mass txt message letting people know of my new number. So is this Androids way of anti-spam?

View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
I think I'm experiencing my first real problem with my Hero. I've noticed that my wife (and who knows who else) hasn't been getting my txts when I send them... Sometimes it takes a full day for her to get them. Email has been delayed the past couple days, too. Items will sit in the outbox for hours and when I pull them up, there's red text saying it's sending..." This happens whether I'm connected to WiFi or just using the mobile radio. 2 bars or 5 bars, it doesn't seem to matter.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from an Samsung Instinct to an HTC Hero. I am currently on my second phone. The first one had a major OS glitch. As the service tech stated it was possessed. I am into my new replacement for about 2 weeks now. Currently, I am having horrible luck with the phone. The keyboard lags, the phone auto dials random numbers while scrolling the phone book and today while talking to my wife it made a conference call to my wife. Also the weather feature on the clock won't update the location unless I manually refresh it. These are just a few of the things I have noticed. I currently am running advanced app killer to save on battery life and the phone is up to date on the software. My brother has an HTC Touch through T-Mobile and it rocks and I have other friends with android phones and they don't experience the same issues.

All of my contacts numbers and in 10 digits example: 123 - 456 - 7890 this only happens with certain contacts but I don't see what the issue is. Does anyone else get this issue or know how to fix it?
So one thing I'm not a big fan of is the vibration settings. Is there any way that I can get it to have longer vibrations or more than the two short pulses? I miss a lot of the notifications when my phone is set to vibrate (yes, vibration mode is necessary while I'm in class). My BlackBerry gave me the option to have short, medium, long vibrates, and how many.

1. He is on my Facebook contact. (His facebook pic appears in my Desire contact list)
2. He is my Gmail contact as well.
3. He is added as a 'Phone Contact' as well.
I sent him a text few days ago but don't remember if it was using facebook or my phone (network provider sms) but now when I go in to 'Messages' and send him a message, I just can't figure out if I am sending him a message via Facebook or to his mobile number.
noticed something weird with KitKat, and confirmed this on two different phones (Nexus 5 and Moto G but running latest KitKat 4.4.2). On occasion (not every time) the phone seems to auto dial someone after you've ended a call with someone else.
My wife reported the problem first with her Moto G. At first I thought she might just be accidentally hitting a button after calling someone (this is her first smart phone and first touch screen phone) but it's happened several times for her. Final catch was today when I clearly had it happen to me (it also appears it may have happened before once or twice on my phone). I had called someone using my bluetooth in my car, at the end of the call I pushed the hangup button on the steering wheel, and the call ended. Then my wife picked up the phone to call another person and we both noticed it was calling some other friend of ours (that I had txt'd with maybe 2 hours before). It had just started calling this person for no reason. We quickly ended the call (hopefully it didn't bug them), but wow is that annoying.
It seems to happen every once in a while right after hanging up with another call. It seems to call someone in either your recent call or txt history. I'm not sure what might trigger it as it doesn't happen every time, and I'm not sure what number it chooses to call (though it does appear to be someone you recently called or txt'd).
For example last night I went swimming. After my swim I got out and texted my friend "Hey man I'm done swimming, whats up"? Today I check my phone and I see that the same message got sent again randomly. I did not send the text again but somehow my phone re-sent that text, and literally Erased the original message that I sent myself.
Same thing happened the other night - I sent a text apologizing to a friend that I couldn't hang out with her. The next day the text got re-sent to her somehow, and she responded with "what are you talking about?". I was like "Idk wtf happened my phone is randomly re-sending texts to people". What's going on? I don't think this ever happened before the latest software update.

I was billed for sending a text message to a swedish phone number...........Searching the internet I found out that many people experience that their Sony Ericsson phones, by themselves, send text messages to a phone number belonging to Sony Ericsson, Sweden.

When I do, it will show the person's name and phone number more than 20+ times! It's actually doing this for every contact I have, but only when I'm searching for a name when I'm trying to send a text message.
It doesn't affect my sending or receiving of messages, but it's a little annoying.
Just noticed that when I click on the "People" icon from home screen that some of my contact names are listed more than a dozen times!
Anyone know how to see the time of call instead of just the date in my Hero's Call History?

Is anyone aware of an email issue in which you can send, reply to and forward a message through POP mail only if connected to WiFi?
I have a couple of POP accounts (outside of gmail) set up in the email application. The last couple of days (with the WiFi off), I have tried to respond to an email through my phone, as well as forward another and it comes up with an alert that it is unable to send. Then I turn on my WiFi and try again and it goes through fine.
Confused by this, if anyone has an explanation or fix. I would like to be able to reply, forward, send regardless if I am on the network or WiFiespecially since I will not always have a WiFi hotspot available in every situation.
Receiving messages still works fine. Sending is where the problem pops up. It cant be the settings, as it can send when WiFi is on using the exact same settings as are entered when trying over the network.
I am a longtime iPhone user and I have recently been given a Samsung Galaxy S3 by my employer. In the past I have just used my old Android phone for Tethering with FoxFi so I can have web access at work on my laptop. I literally never made any phone calls with it for over 2 years. I have had the calls forwarded from my Verizon Android phone to my ATT iPhone since the day I got it.
Currently I have a (PERSONAL) iPhone 4 on AT&T with a 3G connection and I have this (WORK CELL) Samsung Galaxy 3 on Verizon 4G LTE.
I would like the ability to fully test out the S3 and leave the iPhone at home if I so choose. Call forwarding either way is not a problem at all. I can forward my iPhone personal calls to my work cell and I can forward my work cell calls to my iPhone (Currently this is how I have it). Call forwarding works great but I am looking for a way to handle text messages in a similar manner.
I would like to have the ability to send and receive text messages using my personal number from my Android Phone. I have Google Voice installed on both phones but I cant seem to get it to work at all or I am not setting it up correctly. I would not mind having texts show up on both devices or in my Gmail inbox. There has to be a way to do this. That way if I leave either phone at home it not a big deal I don't have to carry two phones. Nobody ever texts my work number, my only texts received are to my personal cell.
When I try sending a text to an email via handcent, it doesn't show to text.My mom sends me texts via email when shes at work and I'm not able to respond unless I use the native android text app.Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or is this just not possible with handcent?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSoince the 2.1 upgrade on my Orange Hero I get not only an anonymous empty text message which I can't get rid of but also every time I get a misssed call, the Notification can't be permanently deleted. Every time my phone is switched off and back on they re-appear. I now have 6 missed calls shown when I switch back on.
