I was curious to know if anyone is aware of any program that allows you to make calls and adds the dashes in the number as you type them. For instance, right now with the Inc when placing a call, the number displays like this:

Anyone know if there's a way to make it:
555-555-5555
A little easier on the eyes. I doubt that there is something like this but thought I'd ask.

Is there a way to make my phone add the dashes that normally show up when you put in a phone number.I just get a list of numbers with no dashes or no spaces and it is very hard to tell if I mistyped the number.

This is a feature I used 10 times a day on my blackberry and I can't believe there wouldn't be some way to do it on the incredible. I am a sales rep and when I set up an appointment I put the name of the office and then I type the phone number right next to the name. When I opened the entry on my bb I could then click on the number to initiate a call. The incredible doesn't seem to recognize the phone number as anything different than text..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've experienced two problems with Google Voice that are causing me to get charged minutes I wouldn't usually get charged. If I can't solve them, I'll have to go back to using my Verizon number. First, let me say that I'm using a new Google Voice number that isn't Verizon cell phone number or any other preexisting number. Second, my girlfriend is on my family plan, but she doesn't have GV yet. We're using the 700-minute plan, so we don't have a friends circle.
Problem 1: When I call my girlfriend's Verizon wireless phone using the GV on my Verizon phone, I get charged, and when she calls my GV number on my Verizon Wireless phone from her Verizon wireless phone, she gets charged. We don't cash in on our free in-network calling. I know, this should have been obvious, but it just never occurred to me until after I looked at the bill. I'd be able to work with that, though, and just select "Call without using Google Voice" or whatever when calling her if it weren't for the second problem. When people call my Google Voice number, I get charged when I don't answer. Usually, it's just a one-minute charge, but sometimes it's two or three minutes (don't know why). With anything less than an unlimited plan, minutes count. Not good.
Me and my trusty G1 have recently moved out of the US. Im running CM's latest, and just like the stock ROM, phone numbers stored in the phone have the xxx-xxx-xxxx US format. This format does not apply to most countries outside of the US. So here when someone calls (or when im trying to add a new contact) phone numbers tend to look weird since phone numbers here have an XX-XXX-XXX format (8 digits total), and so they end up showing as XXX-XXX-XX, which is just confusing.
So in short, is there any way to stop the dashes from showing up in the call log/ caller id/adding new contact form??

What I want to do is make a phone number click-able I guess you can say.
On my app there is two phone numbers on two different tabs. I want the user to be able to press the phone number (either or) and it will call the number from their phone.
My work number is a contact, if I choose that contact to dial, the X goes to do it but in the reception bars area a red circle appears and the screen reverts back to the previous one. I can dial other numbers fine and there is service. My work number is also in all my co-workers contact cards as well. I had one contact that I deleted and added again, and then the X would dial and the call go through. Any thoughts? It is only a few numbers this happens with, no pattern I can see yet.

Probably it is possible for Froyo at least. I found application called Easy Call Forwarding. But many people reckon it dosen't work actually. We can notice forwarded call by onCallForwardingIndicatorChanged() from PhoneStateListener but I have no idea how to set forwarding mode.

I just got an x10 and I'm very excited about what I've been able to do so far but dialing out takes 3-5 button presses and some searching for the names of the person I'm looking for.is there an app or other way to get a phone call off to a specific persons number. I will be swiping down the list, and it will dial a number if my finger rests too long on a contact.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my office voicemail as a contact but to enter it, I need a long pause (while it rings) and then several more digits to enter my system.The 'P' represents a pause.That is how it worked on my older LG phone.I needed 4 of them while the phone was ringing.Once the pauses ended (and the call was connected), it would enter the rest of the numbers to enter my voicemail system. When I send that number on this phone, it adds '011' to the beginning and the call is lost.Not sure why it does it but there has to be another way to add pauses.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI signed up with google voice through my university email and i can access it on my pc and what not, it says have a google number and when i call it i can get my voice mail, and i get transcribed voicemails and what not. however, when i downloaded the app from the market and and to activate it under 'voice' settings i get to the step where i enter my pin and the it says 'Your phone number could not be verified. Please try again later' what gives?i have tried over a week or so and it still gives me the same message. i read that if you chose the 'different' account option and type in your email that will work but when i do that it says my password is wrong. also, when i hold down the '1' on my phone it takes me to my Verizon voice mail, i though i was using google voice? i must say this is a very confusing service so far.

She has a BlackBerry Tour on Verizon. Today, I got basically the same thing - a message from "CJOHNS235@sprintpcs.com" and the body is "EPPlCARD LLBH alert 521148. call 828-268-**** ". I googled the phone number and apparently it's some guy named Steve in North Carolina. If it was an email I wouldn't be worried, but it came to my phone number. I never give out my cell number for anything.

I just got the Eris today and I was wondering if there was a way to calibrate the screen. I don't know if it's normal, but when I use the Home/Menu/Back sensors, I have to touch the very top of the icon in order for it to work. Also, are you supposed to be able to get the landscape view/keyboard when inputting contacts?

I'm having an issue with opening hangouts and the keyboard not inputting anything into the message field. The keyboards responds to keys pressed but nothing shows up.
I have to close Hangouts from Recent Apps and reopen it to get the keyboard to work. Happens quite often but not everytime.Problem is on a Nexus 5 with 4.4.2. This is my second Nexus 5.

I hear you saying, well in the UK nation code are usually 4 digits (sometimes 5). This makes reading the numbers really ANNOYING. On the BJ there was a function that would allow me to toggle between hiding my phone # or having it displayed on calls to people w/ caller ID. It would read the setting from AT&T network and allow me to change it directly on my phone.
I prefer to not display my number when I make calls. However, about 20% of my calls are to fed/state/local gov buildings. In many of those cases they do not accept calls from numbers that won't display on caller ID. In those cases, I would just switch the setting.
I can't find anything on this type of capability in the Incredible documentation. According to VZ support, this can be done but only by calling support each time.
I am dumping Alltel (I live in MT where Verizon and Alltel are separate) the day the Incredible is available out here. My question deals with the process I need to go through to keep my current phone number (I've had it for 7 years and use it for business). What exactly do I need to do? Do I need to cancel my Alltel contract first? Note: this will mean paying the ETF fee associated with my Alltel contract since I am over a year away from my 2 year contract running out. If anyone can shed a light on what I need to do to keep my phone number when changing providers like this.
