View 1 RepliesOne thing i miss about my N95 is how it would speak the name of the incoming caller, is there a app out that does this? or a way to make this happen on the HTC Legend?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from T-mobile to Verizon, and just picked up my nice shiny new HTC Incredible phone. It works great, with one exception.Whenever I get an incoming call, the phone just shows that I have an incoming call but doesn't show the caller's phone number, or the name if they are one of my contacst. It doesn't matter if the call is coming from a land line, a Verizon mobile phone, or whether or not they are on of my contacts, each time all it shows is incoming call, and nothing esle.I probably have some setting screwed up, but so far I can't find it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've experienced two problems with Google Voice that are causing me to get charged minutes I wouldn't usually get charged. If I can't solve them, I'll have to go back to using my Verizon number. First, let me say that I'm using a new Google Voice number that isn't Verizon cell phone number or any other preexisting number. Second, my girlfriend is on my family plan, but she doesn't have GV yet. We're using the 700-minute plan, so we don't have a friends circle.
Problem 1: When I call my girlfriend's Verizon wireless phone using the GV on my Verizon phone, I get charged, and when she calls my GV number on my Verizon Wireless phone from her Verizon wireless phone, she gets charged. We don't cash in on our free in-network calling. I know, this should have been obvious, but it just never occurred to me until after I looked at the bill. I'd be able to work with that, though, and just select "Call without using Google Voice" or whatever when calling her if it weren't for the second problem. When people call my Google Voice number, I get charged when I don't answer. Usually, it's just a one-minute charge, but sometimes it's two or three minutes (don't know why). With anything less than an unlimited plan, minutes count. Not good.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my Droid Incredible for about two months now. I was really one of the lucky ones!! I usually can fix problems by myself, because I am skilled in Android, but this one I have to turn to my friends in the Android community and ask for some assistance. Next, the phone will randomly change my ringtone. Next, the Sense clock/weather widget displays a location that I don't even live in, and sometimes it will show just a number. How I can fix this, without rooting (waiting for official Froyo).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've gone into messaging settings and set vibrate to on and it is not vibrating on incoming messages. The phone vibrates on incoming calls so the actual vibrating mechanism works. Any ideas on what could be going wrong?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if it's possible to block my phone from receiving incoming texts through VZW. I'm using GV for texting and want to completely drop my texting plan but also don't want to get hit with loads of texts coming to the wrong number. Is there just a way to prevent incoming texts altogether?
Obviously, I plan to send out a couple of "notices" of the change of number BUT you know how some people are...they just won't change the number and forget by the next time they try to text me...LOL (well sort of!) I don't want to pay per text. That could get expensive FAST!
Recently bought the x10 and I am still getting used to it. One thing I have noticed is that when a caller not on my list is calling, I only see the number. When I plop my sim back into my old shitty LG VU, I can once again see the number and the name registered to it. Is this an x10 thing?
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen recieving incoming calls message on screen when call is showing on device screen it shows system message : ["blacklisted incoming number"] {not exact message, but similiar...}. This is happened a couple of times so it is not a fluke. The calls work at first, but after this you cant recieve calls from that number. There is no setting or list to remove or edit the blacklist "feature".
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can we reject incoming phone call in android if the incoming number is already stored in phonebook.
What method is used to reject incoming calls? I know how to detect incoming calls but don't know how to reject.
I have the screen locked. I get a call and I can still answer it and see the number and contact without unlocking the screen. This might be the same for texts, not sure yet.
I did some Googling and there seems to be a setting that can change how much the screen lock blocks. I think I checked everywhere in the phone but don't see this option. It's a ZTE AWE phone with jelly bean.
There's aparently simple ways to bypass screen lock if a phone's lost, but I still want it fully locked.
Does anyone know how I can change something in the settings to remove the +1 in front of all of my incoming numbers?
Example: +1(555)555-5555
When someone leaves me a message and i press callback it calls that number and Verizon wont recognize that +1 extension in front of the area code.
I ported miui us over to the att s3. One issue I have is when an incoming call takes place it does not show the "1" like it should 1-555-555-5555 instead it shows +55 55 55555.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know a way to call a phone number that is in a calendar entry on the Incredible? This is a feature I used 10 times a day on my blackberry and I can't believe there wouldn't be some way to do it on the incredible. I am a sales rep and when I set up an appointment I put the name of the office and then I type the phone number right next to the name. When I opened the entry on my bb I could then click on the number to initiate a call. The incredible doesn't seem to recognize the phone number as anything different than text..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have my office voicemail as a contact but to enter it, I need a long pause (while it rings) and then several more digits to enter my system. The 'P' represents a pause. That is how it worked on my older LG phone.I needed 4 of them while the phone was ringing.Once the pauses ended (and the call was connected), it would enter the rest of the numbers to enter my voicemail system. When I send that number on this phone, it adds '011' to the beginning and the call is lost. Not sure why it does it but there has to be another way to add pauses.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI signed up with google voice through my university email and i can access it on my pc and what not, it says have a google number and when i call it i can get my voice mail, and i get transcribed voicemails and what not. however, when i downloaded the app from the market and and to activate it under 'voice' settings i get to the step where i enter my pin and the it says 'Your phone number could not be verified. Please try again later' what gives?i have tried over a week or so and it still gives me the same message. i read that if you chose the 'different' account option and type in your email that will work but when i do that it says my password is wrong. also, when i hold down the '1' on my phone it takes me to my Verizon voice mail, i though i was using google voice? i must say this is a very confusing service so far.
View 11 Replies View RelatedA few days ago my fiancee received a text from an email address while I was with her. It had some gibberish and a phone number. She deleted it right after she read it. She has a BlackBerry Tour on Verizon. Today, I got basically the same thing - a message from "CJOHNS235@sprintpcs.com" and the body is "EPPlCARD LLBH alert 521148. call 828-268-**** ". I googled the phone number and apparently it's some guy named Steve in North Carolina. If it was an email I wouldn't be worried, but it came to my phone number. I never give out my cell number for anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was curious to know if anyone is aware of any program that allows you to make calls and adds the dashes in the number as you type them. For instance, right now with the Inc when placing a call, the number displays like this:
5555555555
Anyone know if there's a way to make it:
555-555-5555
A little easier on the eyes. I doubt that there is something like this but thought I'd ask.
Looking for a tip here.
How do you look up a local phone number (for calling) or address (for nav).
I have tried Yellow Pages, magnifying glass (search), and a few other apps but nothing is working great for finding the closest Pizza Hut for example (had a gift certificate). What do you use?
I just switched to the Incredible from BlackJack on AT&T. On the BJ there was a function that would allow me to toggle between hiding my phone # or having it displayed on calls to people w/ caller ID. It would read the setting from AT&T network and allow me to change it directly on my phone.
I prefer to not display my number when I make calls. However, about 20% of my calls are to fed/state/local gov buildings. In many of those cases they do not accept calls from numbers that won't display on caller ID. In those cases, I would just switch the setting.
I can't find anything on this type of capability in the Incredible documentation. According to VZ support, this can be done but only by calling support each time.
I am dumping Alltel (I live in MT where Verizon and Alltel are separate) the day the Incredible is available out here. My question deals with the process I need to go through to keep my current phone number (I've had it for 7 years and use it for business). What exactly do I need to do? Do I need to cancel my Alltel contract first? Note: this will mean paying the ETF fee associated with my Alltel contract since I am over a year away from my 2 year contract running out. If anyone can shed a light on what I need to do to keep my phone number when changing providers like this.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm selling my house, and my old phone number (which is still active), is on the advertisment signs and MLS. So, I'm going to keep paying my bill month to month for that account until I sell the house.
However, I'd rather not carry around 2 different phones. I did not port my number to my new service as my old number was not "local" to where I live now.
So, I have service with T-mobile and now Verizon with two different numbers. Can I set-up something where anyone who calls my T-mobile number, will ring through to my my Verizon phone/number?
