When i am receiving a call.. i try to answer the phone..the phone doesn't answer sometime like it is on mute then they hang up..i think because i hit the accept wrong or something.. the phone is acting weird when i receive a call.. this seem to be a problem? how can i get a replacement if u guys know? it happen to me 2 or 3 times already.. if it continues i want a replacement!

Where I work is on Sprint and has bought Hero's for the office people. Most seem to like them. I like mine too(my own). However, my Hero has horrible reception. There are a few places around where I work that are dead zones. I drop calls there EVERY time. They NEVER drop there. We even went through there on the way to lunch the other day and all of us made a call to see how reception was on each. My Hero dropped the call and the rest did not. I have updated everything and still nothing. Sprint seems to be unconcerned. How can I get them to swap phones or something. I actually purchased from Best Buy. I was on 1.5 and have switched to 2.1 and it is the same on both.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have noticed some glitches with calls dropping and I don't think these instances are connected: 1) Sometimes I cannot dial numbers that are stored in the phone or using the favs widget and that includes returning a call so the number is already listed. If I hit the number it dials for about a second then says call disconnected. BUT if I manually dial the same number after it drops it will dial out fine. I haven't noticed any rhyme or reason for it doing this. It just seems to happen randomly. Maybe it is linked to low signal? It just seems odd that I can always dial the number after if I type it in. 2) When using GPS naviation (Maps) if I get an incoming call - no problem but if I dial out, after a few seconds on the phone the phone will reboot itself.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLately I have been getting very poor signal strength on my Hero. It went from 3 or 4 bars, down to 1 or 2 at my house, and I constantly drop calls. I live in an area where I am supposed to have excellent signal strength too. Called tech support, they checked the towers, and all is fine. I have my phone set to Sprint only, and whenever I make a call, and end the call, my signal drops to 0, and sometimes even get an x meaning no signal, but either way what bothers me is when I end the call my data, whether it is Ev, or 1x lights up and sends/receive's data for about 5 seconds. After that the signal comes back. Now what in the world does data have to do with voice? Nothing. My phone is stock with no 3rd party apps installed at all.
I have reset to factory too, doesn't help Firmware and PRL are both up to date too.
My dinc is defective so verizon will be sending me a replacement. will the phone be a refurb?

I clicked on PDF, and low and behold there is something that was downloaded to the SD card as a PDF on it. I did not download this, which means they gave me a used SD card with the replacement phone ( sketchy right?) Anyway, I want to delete the pdf, how do i do it? I know there is an uninstall place somewhere, just not sure where it is. Also how do I check to see what else is on the SD card?

Verizon is shipping me what I assume is a refuted phone. If I turn it on, root it, and throw in my old SD card, will there be any trouble doing a typical nandroid restore?
i saw written previous issues of the title of the nandroid folder name (something about the correct phone serial number?)
edit: alternative could be titanium backup, but i don't know if one's preferable to the other.
I have looked everywhere and cant seem to find this...On my original Incredible when I typed a word it didnt ahve and then selected it from the list on the left it would auto add it to the dictionary. I have a replacement now and it doesnt do it and for the life of me I cant find the setting to enable it. Any ideas where this is at.

There are lots of times that while on a call you need to hit a number to transfer and the screen times out way to fast and you end up accidentally, while trying to get the screen to wake up, that you hit the wrong number whlie the screen is dark. There has to be a setting somewhere for this. Any suggestions?

It meant that I didn't have to hear alerts all night for emails and text, but if someone called me I would know. is there a similar setting, or at least an app, that provides this function? I think it's a good idea for those of us who don't have a land line, and dont want to hear alerts all night but forget to take off silent in the morning.

One of which is when someone calls me or I call them depending on what "mood" my phone is in the person on the other line cannot hear me. Also since about two days ago it's been happening almost everyday, now the hitch pitched "Beep" is accompanying the problem of the person on the other line not being able to hear me. I can get around it, I have toe reset my phone twice. Yep, twice. I reset it the first time and it does nothing. Still same ol' high pitched "beep" and no one can hear me. No matter how long I wait on the phone or how many phone calls I make. After the second reset it works with no problems.

I've copied files and folders into the /sdcard/dropbox folder but they don't show up in the Dropbox app nor are they synched to my PC Dropbox. I don't see a way to paste into the app. In the Dropbox app I see "Upload" then "Add any file" but the only options are to add a photo, music or voice recorder file. I was hoping to use it to back up some ebooks and data files to my desktop.

Not only is this unpleasant when I have the phone to my ear, but it's also an annoyance to the person I'm talking to as they hear the vibrate sounds. In fact any time I'm talking to my girlfriend and my phone vibrates, she asks "who is texting you now?" I really just want the notification turned off while I'm on a call. Is there a way to prevent this from happening while on the phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt seems every time I get a phonecall, I go to remove the phone from it's holster (leather horizontal type) and look down at the phone to get the "missed call" message... Doesn't matter if it's on the 1st, 3rd, 5th ring... it seems like it's auto-ignoring based on my attempts to get it out of the holster. Can someone tell me if this is a magnet deal, a setting i'm setting, or if there's an option I can turn off/program I can install that makes it harder to ignore calls? Perhaps I'm just brushing the ignore button? Unrelated, it seems if I get an email and don't look at my phone, it continues to beep at me every few minutes until I look at it, is there a way to tell it "notify once, then stfu"?
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to get some opinions here about my battery performance to help determine if it's defective and to see if I should return the phone for a new one.Whenever I charge my phone, it gets all the way up to 100% (obviously), but after I unplug the phone the battery will drop down to around a 90% charge level 5 minutes after unplugging it. And that's with no usage at all. I simply unplug it, turn off the screen, and stick it in my pocket. Mobile network is enabled, but bluetooth, wifi, and gps are all off and I don't have any crazy apps running that are draining the battery. Within an hour (with little or no use), the battery will then usually be in the 75% range, sometimes a little lower. I don't think I've made it past 11 or 12 hours yet without the battery dying, even though my usage is pretty light. Any ideas on what is going on? Do you think the battery is just a junky one or is this normal behavior for the phone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got the HTC Incredible and one of the things I haven't been able to figure out is how to set incoming phone calls to vibrate, yet play the notification sound. None of the profiles seems to make that combination happen. If I switch it to silent, no sound or vibrations happen for calls or notifications. In the vibrate profile, both calls and notifications only vibrate. In normal mode, I can't get calls to vibrate only. If I slide the call ringer volume all the way down and slide notification volume up, it switches it to silent mode. If I have call ringer volume up one notch from silent, it still plays the ringtone. Is this something I can accomplish or do I have to have silent calls only if I still want notifications played?

View 14 Replies View RelatedMy Inc worked well for about the first-ish month. I sometimes had "muddy" call quality and the caller would drop in and out (to the point I thought they hung up, but I would start hearing them again). I attributed this to the caller's device/network and not my device.
I went from noticing this just a few times, to almost all calls have the problem now, to some degree. It does not matter if using the ear or external speaker. GPS through the speaker is perfectly clear and so is playing movies and music.
This suggest it is not an audio output problem, but an actual voice call problem. It is getting so bad that I am beginning to dislike the Inc, since phone calls are obviously a critical function of the device. Everything else works fine.
having problems receiving calls. When I call the phone from another line, nothing happens except its logged as a missed call. The screen doesnt light up and no options for receiving calls. This happened before I installed Google voice. I disabled Google voice and still no joy. Everything else works. I can make calls, browse over WiFi and 3G.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAny app to single delete notifications from the drop down menu. I'm running Verizon HTC incredible, cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1. Since cyanogenmod 7.1, we have been able to swipe notifications left and right to delete them, but it doesnt really work very well.
I then went to a friends house who had an at @ t Motorola Atrix, with I think droid 2.3.4 on it. My friends drop down menu had a minus button on the right of the notification to delete it. That is exactly what I'm looking for. Any app or some way to set this in my (Rooted) phone?
