Is there an app that allows u to drop a pinpoint on a location then navigate back to that direction later? i know footprints just lets u drop a pinpoint but it only brings up a map of where it is.

As far as I understood, when I click HOME button while a task is running, the task will be paused (onPaused() of the current top-level activity will be called,right?). I think there might be a way to bring this paused task back to foreground since the task is still ALIVE, but I don't know how. Do I have to put some more codes in the activity (I mean the one that is paused)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAbout the only thing I miss from my old WinOS phone is the arrow keys on the keyboard. I don't see that on my Dinc. So, how do you navigate inside a text field? If I want to correct a letter in the middle of a long piece of text, how do I get there? Currently I am using my big fat finger to try and place the cursor where I want but that is certainly not very accurate and usually takes several tries to get it where I want.Earlier today I was editing an email addr in contacts and the long text exceeded the text window. I couldn't figure out how to even see the beginning of the text.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I've noticed that my phone pretty much never sleeps, and the battery drain is substantial. I installed Wakelock Detector and have narrowed the culprit down to the AlarmManager service in the Android System. I understand that this service itself is not the problem as it's simply used by other apps to keep the phone awake, but I have no way of narrowing down which apps are triggering the alarms. I understand it's possible by running sysdump alarm > file.txt from the terminal, but I've tried that and realized this requires root privilege, which I don't have.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm sure that there has to be a thread about this somewhere, but I've looked quite a bit and can't seem to find one.Before my Dell Streak (now running 2.1, using the the Swype keyboard), I had an iPhone. I definitely don't miss much about it, but one thing that was nice was, when scrolling through large amounts of text, a circle would appear that looked something like a magnifying glass and I would have the ability to pinpoint exactly where I wanted to place my cursor when editing text.With my current setup, I have trouble landing the cursor accurately when I touch in a large body of text. I'd even settle for arrow, like on a regular keyboard. Ideally, I am looking to accomplish this while keeping Swype functionality.

I've copied files and folders into the /sdcard/dropbox folder but they don't show up in the Dropbox app nor are they synched to my PC Dropbox. I don't see a way to paste into the app. In the Dropbox app I see "Upload" then "Add any file" but the only options are to add a photo, music or voice recorder file. I was hoping to use it to back up some ebooks and data files to my desktop.
View 8 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to get some opinions here about my battery performance to help determine if it's defective and to see if I should return the phone for a new one.Whenever I charge my phone, it gets all the way up to 100% (obviously), but after I unplug the phone the battery will drop down to around a 90% charge level 5 minutes after unplugging it. And that's with no usage at all. I simply unplug it, turn off the screen, and stick it in my pocket. Mobile network is enabled, but bluetooth, wifi, and gps are all off and I don't have any crazy apps running that are draining the battery. Within an hour (with little or no use), the battery will then usually be in the 75% range, sometimes a little lower. I don't think I've made it past 11 or 12 hours yet without the battery dying, even though my usage is pretty light. Any ideas on what is going on? Do you think the battery is just a junky one or is this normal behavior for the phone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Inc worked well for about the first-ish month. I sometimes had "muddy" call quality and the caller would drop in and out (to the point I thought they hung up, but I would start hearing them again). I attributed this to the caller's device/network and not my device.
I went from noticing this just a few times, to almost all calls have the problem now, to some degree. It does not matter if using the ear or external speaker. GPS through the speaker is perfectly clear and so is playing movies and music.
This suggest it is not an audio output problem, but an actual voice call problem. It is getting so bad that I am beginning to dislike the Inc, since phone calls are obviously a critical function of the device. Everything else works fine.
Any app to single delete notifications from the drop down menu. I'm running Verizon HTC incredible, cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1. Since cyanogenmod 7.1, we have been able to swipe notifications left and right to delete them, but it doesnt really work very well.
I then went to a friends house who had an at @ t Motorola Atrix, with I think droid 2.3.4 on it. My friends drop down menu had a minus button on the right of the notification to delete it. That is exactly what I'm looking for. Any app or some way to set this in my (Rooted) phone?
My phone has the roaming signal on all the time. Is there a setting for me to change the location or get back to non-roaming? Even I am not roaming, would I incur roaming charges?

You can swipe it back up, or simply hit the back button.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWith Google's voice action (or voice search), I can use the "navigate to" command to start the navigation app directly. However, this seems to work only with address, name of places.For example, I tried "navigate to 1234 main street" or "navigate to san jose airport" or "navigate to Starbucks on oakland road". The commands were recognized in all cases. For the last one, it prompted me with a list of choices for the end points, and once selected, proceeded correctly with the navigation.
However, if I say "navigate to John Doe home", although it also recognized the command correctly (i.e. it came up with the prompt "navigate to john doe home" and asked me to choose "go" or "cancel"), it would not come up with the correct address from the contact list as the end point to navigate to, but instead it would come up with a list of end points not related to John Doe at all, even if I have John Doe in my contact list (with the home address).
I googled around and it appeared that other users have also experienced similar problems, with some dating back 2-3 years ago. I just discovered this since I just switched from iPhone to a Samsung Skyrocket (with Gingerbread v2.3.6). Seems to be a simple problem to resolve. I can't believe that this problem is not (AFAIK) getting the attention of Google as I think this would be encountered by a lot of people.
Also I am wondering if there is a way to get around this beside giving the full address in the voice search command.
Is there a tutorial on how to navagate a nandroid backup? I want to get at least proficient on using those backup manually. For example, I want to be able to go into a backup on the computer, pull out an APK and data and place it in the right location on the phone.

If I hit update it won't update.so it can't find my location, any ideas?
