On my old droid eris there was an option to "delete mail on server" in my email settings. the inc doesn't have this option.. it is quite annoying that every time i get on my actual computer i have to then go in to my email and delete those emails that i have already deleted on my phone. anyone else hate this problem?

Elaborating the same, the list contains a set of objects which is defined both in the server and the client. Its just that the server queries a database and sends the object to the client which collects the same and displays it to the user. Please let me know if thats possible and if it is, how would I be able to accomplish that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Magic running the stock Roger's 2.1 rom, using K9 mail with MobileMe. I find if I compose an email from scratch, no problems. But if I reply to a message it won't send... it just sits in the Outbox. If I manually force it to send from the Outbox it will usually go... but not always. Has anyone come across anything like this before? Seems pretty weird that a 'fresh' email will send, but not a reply (the only different seemingly being that K9 is filling in the To field itself). I guess in the meantime I could give another email app such as MailDroid a spin, but I'm rather fond of K9.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Tomcat Server in front of a Servlet that gets/stores information in a MySQL Database. My Android application needs to get/ put information on to this server. I control both ends of the communication, so I've basically been exploring the "best" way to send information back and forth. So far, I've tried Jackson for JSON and the native Java Serialization packages. My object is relatively complex and completely serializable.I have no desire to write a "custom" guy at all, as I doubt I'd actually be able to improve on most of the packages.So with that being said, are there any other strategies/packages I should try to get information to/from my server?

Can make calls/send texts etc. Obviously 3G internet is not working and I imagine MMS if I tried that. I have tried to put my Orange APN settings into the settings. However, when I bring up the APN menu it is simply blank. No exisiting settings or options to create a new set.

I have updated my magic to android 1.5 and consequently had to set up the APN settings again. Now, for some reason, the 3g connection does not work anymore (they did before). I have checked that the settings are correct from Elisa, my carrier. I have ticked "mobile Network" on, I do not have "use only 2g" on, and everything else should be in place as well.Anyone have any idea, why is this?I am using magic bought from Taiwan in Finland.

My HTC MAGIC stopped receiving mails one week ago, on the 15th oktober. And I don't know what to do..
I have tried removing my account/adding it again, it still only fetches the mails that where fetched before the 15th oktober.
I have the same mailsetup on my own computer, fetches new mails just fine, no problems.
Any suggestions what to do?
I use a POP email (btconnect). When I am connected via Wifi I can send emails without any problem. When there is no Wifi and I only have a 3G signal I cannot get emails to send. I keep getting the error message that the email cannot be sent as the settings are incorrect. Running Android 2.2

View 4 Replies View RelatedI did a search and found nothing in the forums that was directly related to this so I started a new thread.I just got my EVO last night.I have two email accounts.A hotmail account, and an Exchange Activesync account.Both are set up and are working fine.Coming from a Blackberry, I am used to deleting the least important emails from the phone as I am on the road, leaving them to be handled later when I am at the computer.My job is email driven so I get 100+ per day from my work account.It is important to me to be able to delete the emails that can wait from the phone, leaving only the most important ones for me to answer while on the road.I called Sprint and after they played with the phone for 20 minutes while on hold, they could not find a way to delete emails from the EVO but leave them on the server for later download by computer.

My problem is that i am receiving notifications that i have new mail but there is nothing showing in the inbox. I have check my inbox online and yes there is new mail, but it is not showing up on my device. I have also tried deleting the account and re adding it but the same thing happens all over again after a few mins.
I noticed this morning that when I already have a new mail notice in the taskbar, all subsequent incoming emails do not activate the alarm (sound+vibration).
Is this normal behaviour? if not, I am running the latest Cyanogen ROM (installed two days ago), can someone using a stock ROM or any other ROM confirm that they also have this problem? I would like to know if this is a problem only on my phone, with Cyanogen's ROM or with Android.
I have Roger's Magic, if it makes a difference.
after ages trying and on the phone to orange customer support I cannot send outgoing mail. does anybody know the correct settings. I can receive fine but keeps saying unable to send mail when i try to send out.

- For incoming messages I have set it to POP3 / mail.xxx.xx - STARTTLS (accept all certificates) - Port 110
- And for outgoing messages I have set it to SMTP / smtp.mail.xxx.xxx - STARTTLS (accept all certificates) - Port 587
* I'm using the same settings as on my laptop, which work flawless under these settings.
I've tried searching for this issue around the forums, but I can't find anything similar.I bought a Hero about a month ago, and I use the Gmail app to get my Google Mail with no problems at all.I set up the default Mail app to get my work e-mail using an IMAP incoming server and SMTP outgoing server, and that's where my problem exists.When I set up the account on the Mail app, everything works great and it downloads the e-mails I've received within the last few days.After 12-24 hours, it stops downloading any e-mails into my Inbox. If I hit refresh, it refreshes without any error messages, but no mail shows up.I tried deleting the mail account several times and setting it up anew; each time the same thing happens it works for the first 12-24 hours and then stops downloading.(I can still send e-mails with no problem.I've tested that.)The strangest part is that if I hit Menu from my Inbox and choose the Folders option, I get a folders list that has some of my IMAP folders in it, but then where the list should include folders that have sub-folders, it instead begins a list of literally thousands of folder names like {33}, {51}, {20}, {27}, {22}, {34}, and so on. (The numbers in the brackets appear as the folder names, and the numbers often repeat, but not in a recognizable pattern.) Overall, the list of "folders" with those numbers in brackets is thousands of items long.
