On my old droid eris there was an option to "delete mail on server" in my email settings. the inc doesn't have this option.. it is quite annoying that every time i get on my actual computer i have to then go in to my email and delete those emails that i have already deleted on my phone. anyone else hate this problem?

I use hotmail using the standard mail app. I have it checked to delete mail on the server but when I delete the mail it comes back once it refreshes the inbox. Anyone else encounter this? I searched but couldn't find anything similar.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the stock mail app for my hotmail account. I receive the mail just fine and I can delete the messages from the phone no problem. But if I delete the messages from the phone shouldn't they be deleting from the server as well? I would like to see them gone the next time I actually sign into my hotmail account from my laptop but they aren't. I have to physically delete them again from my laptop for them to actually be gone. Can anyone shed some light?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI did a search and found nothing in the forums that was directly related to this so I started a new thread.I just got my EVO last night.I have two email accounts.A hotmail account, and an Exchange Activesync account.Both are set up and are working fine.Coming from a Blackberry, I am used to deleting the least important emails from the phone as I am on the road, leaving them to be handled later when I am at the computer.My job is email driven so I get 100+ per day from my work account.It is important to me to be able to delete the emails that can wait from the phone, leaving only the most important ones for me to answer while on the road.I called Sprint and after they played with the phone for 20 minutes while on hold, they could not find a way to delete emails from the EVO but leave them on the server for later download by computer.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues ever since I switched to my first Android phone, which was the Nexus 4, 8 months ago.For some reason I can receive emails without any problems, but can't send any?They just sit in the Outbox forever!
- For incoming messages I have set it to POP3 / mail.xxx.xx - STARTTLS (accept all certificates) - Port 110
- And for outgoing messages I have set it to SMTP / smtp.mail.xxx.xxx - STARTTLS (accept all certificates) - Port 587
* I'm using the same settings as on my laptop, which work flawless under these settings.
I can delete email from EVO and that also deletes emails from my server But this is what I want to do:
1. Delete email from server using my desktop browser/outlook/etc (not from EVO).
2. Hit refresh on the EVO
3. EVO updates to no longer show messages that I deleted off the server
Does anyone know if this is a possibility? I am using the HTC Email app with Hotmail.
Once I delete an email I've read on my phone, can I have it set so that it deletes it from the mail server? It's pretty annoying that I'm seeing these emails again when I login to webmail. I don't see an option in email settings.

I have searched here and all over trying to see if there is new settings or what but can't find anything to include the "don't delete from server" setting for the account.
With my other yahoo accounts (free) I didn't have the option to keep them on the server and accepted that as it was a struggle to get the free accounts up early on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got my Incredible on April 29th and setup my Exchange email account and was able to send and receive with no problems. Contacts and calendar synced with no problems. Everything was fine for about a week then I noticed I was no longer receiving emails. I could send with no problems and contacts and calendar still synced ok, I just could not get emails using wither WiFi or Verizon's network. I went into the account settings and activesync settings and see an error message that said "error occurred on the computer running the exchange server". Deleting and recreating the account on the Incredible seems to work, but for only about 7-10 days then right back in the same boat. I do not think the phone is the issue as I had a Droid and had the almost identical problem.
On the Droid I did not see the error message but I would stop receiving emails after about a week. I have tried Touchdown and it's almost the same issue, except that the error is something along the lines of "mail queued on the server". Again, removing and reinstalling the account in Touchdown resolves the issue for about another week. I called our corp help desk folks and it was a wasted phone call. All I got from them was we don't support mobile devices via activesync and wouldn't talk about it anymore, so I am leaning toward something on our mail server causing the issue. My only problem with that answer is that we also have other users here with iPhones and Windows mobile devices and they are not having any problems, and they are also connected via activesync.
Is there any way I can delete exchange emails from my Incredible without deleting them from the server? Still would like to be able to access messages from my laptop at a later time like I could with the pos Storm.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have checked the settings and I have the "delete from server" box checked and I went onto the server and the emails are not there but when I delete the emails on the app, they will disappear until the next time it refreshes itself. This is getting very annoying and it is crowding my inbox heavily. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Gmail. When I receive an e-mail, I get the same e-mail twice one in the HTC mail box and the other in the Google mail box. I have tried to delete the HTC mail but it will not allow me. If I go to manage applications and choose HTC mail, I can choose forced stop which temporarily stops the double e-mail. It will always revert back however to receving e-mails. Is there a way to permanently stop HTC mail or delete it permanently?

First I tried to send them individually via mms, no go. Then I tried to send them in via email, first together then individually, again no good. "Force Close" message and I have to restart mail.This error and behavior is repeatable.If I select "Menu -> Delete" from the in-box, the message dissappears, and is not available to "select" for deletion.If I try and just select the message to read it, the screen quickly flashes as though it were about to open the message, but immediately returns to the inbox screen.If I get a new message, I am able to delete it with no problem.
