I wants to create a Email client with Exchange &/or Lotus Domino mail server. if possible then provide some code so that I can read and implement as own requirement, other wise at least how to implement.

Is this something I have to deal with or is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? Same thing w/ the calendar reminders. I have dismissed them on my phone but they still come up in outlook when I get home.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a quick search and couldn't find any topics exactly the same as the problem I am having.
For the first ten days or so all my contacts were syncing fine on the Hero from my Exchange account. I then added a new contact in Outlook / Exchange and from this point on, every time I sync the exchange contacts it fails with a client / server conversion error in the notifications. I deleted said contact again in Outlook to no avail.
The mail and calendar are syncing fine, and I have an HTC Snap syncing to the same Exchange account on the same network (Orange UK) just fine (I know the latter is Windows Mobile but still...)
Any ideas? Or is there any way I can see a log of some sort to see why it is failing?
My company only allows mobile access to corporate e-mail through WIndows phone. As an Android advocate, i prefer my own mobile device.
My only two choices are to access through my Android Chrome browser or find a way to make my Jelly-bean Android mail app look like it is a Windows phone. ...or a 3rd part mail app that looks like a Windows/windows phone mail client
I prefer the mail client route as it keeps in sync with updates.
Been searching forums and the internet for an email client for Android, more specifically the Moto Droid. Is K9 the best it gets? Are there no other options besides the default client and K9? I don't need Exchange features, although my wife does.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI was just tinkering with my Droid Incredible's "Accounts & Sync" and I am confused about something. With the Gmail app, there is no option to designate how often to check do for messages because it's a push email client, good. But when I check my settings for Exchange, I am given options to select how often to sync. I was under the impression that Exchange ActiveSync is a push email service, meaning I shouldn't need to designate when I want it to sync because it pushes vs. pulling. Am I missing something here?

I am running the K-9 email client on my HTC Droid Incredible and have it set up to use my work Exchange server account.The app will auth and send email just fine, but it will not download new mail. When I go to Folders, it shows "Error 404 when" in the inbox folder.

On my old blackberry I could do this and would not actually delete from my inbox but it would delet from my phone. Is this possible? I have poked and prodded everything i can think of but cant see how to do this.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI got my Incredible on April 29th and setup my Exchange email account and was able to send and receive with no problems. Contacts and calendar synced with no problems. Everything was fine for about a week then I noticed I was no longer receiving emails. I could send with no problems and contacts and calendar still synced ok, I just could not get emails using wither WiFi or Verizon's network. I went into the account settings and activesync settings and see an error message that said "error occurred on the computer running the exchange server". Deleting and recreating the account on the Incredible seems to work, but for only about 7-10 days then right back in the same boat. I do not think the phone is the issue as I had a Droid and had the almost identical problem.
On the Droid I did not see the error message but I would stop receiving emails after about a week. I have tried Touchdown and it's almost the same issue, except that the error is something along the lines of "mail queued on the server". Again, removing and reinstalling the account in Touchdown resolves the issue for about another week. I called our corp help desk folks and it was a wasted phone call. All I got from them was we don't support mobile devices via activesync and wouldn't talk about it anymore, so I am leaning toward something on our mail server causing the issue. My only problem with that answer is that we also have other users here with iPhones and Windows mobile devices and they are not having any problems, and they are also connected via activesync.
I have a Galaxy Nexus with Stock 4.0.4 ROM and a Transformer Prime also with the stock ASUS firmware (4.0.3), The company where I work has a mail server that supports exchange (Kerio Connect) At that server I have (because I need it that way) 2 different accounts, I need one of those accounts to synchronize everything; contacts, mail, calendar, and the other one to synchronize only calendar appointments.
If I configure the first account everything works just fine. But, when I configure the second account, I start receiving login errors for both accounts every certain time, the apps shows me the option to update my account credentials and when I do it works for the moment but after a while it fails again. If I delete whichever of the two accounts the other works fine.
I have not tested this scenario against other email servers, so I'm not sure if this a problem with my server or if this is an Android problem.
Both accounts are configured as Exchange accounts from Settings menu.
I have been using my EVO for approximately 2-months now. I have 3 seperate email accounts but am having a problem when forwarding emails from my Corporate Exchange Server account. When forwarding an email the recepient receives the forwarded email as a .eml attachment. My other accounts forward the actual email and all settings are the same.Is there something else I need to set different on this email account?
I was under whelmed with the email client which handles POP3 (hotmail, yahoo, verizon, etc.) accounts, and was looking for an "Outlook Mobile" type client, coming from my Moto Q. The stock client just seems to limited, aside from having some issues. Looking around, I came across the K9 Mail client and found that it was available in the Android Market. Its only been installed for a few minutes but in checking the settings/features, its much more robust than the stock client. Many more check intervals, options to set default number of messages, delete from server on delete option. The only caveat on install stated that it may have issues with Hotmail (i.e. Plus or paid accounts may have connection issues) but my basic free Hotmail came thru fine.
Text is much easier to read with the white background, black text and 2 line info display. You can also manage identities, and has more features I don't understand, and probably wont use. With my check interval at 3 hours, I sent a test message from my comcast account (not involved with DROID) just now and got some certificate error message from the program (has its own mail folder for errors), when I performed a manual check/sync. I just ran it again and the message came through. I think it may have been SMTP setting issues, but they seem resolved. Based on the the interface and options alone, I think I'll work with this app.
My IT believes that I am unable to authenticate though the exchange because of some sort of scrambling or degradation specific to this phone.. Mostly just Blackberries are connecting to our server as of now.Has anyone else heard of this?I really want to keep this phone and need to figure out why I can't connect.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a co-worker who suddenly can not connect to her Exchange account via her phone. It mysteriously stopped syncing emails on Dec. 5, and since then the phone can not connect to the server. Error message reported is "Unable to connect to server." I even completely deleted the Exchange account from the phone and attempted to re-add it, but adding a new account failed with the same error message.
The weird thing is that the account worked perfectly fine before Dec. 5, and we can't think of anything that changed on the phone or on the server at that time. Meanwhile, other Android phones in our workplace continue to receive messages from the Exchange server, including my own Nexus 4 with the exact same server settings and another co-worker's Droid Razr.
The problem phone is a Samsung Galaxy S on US Cellular, running Android 2.3.6.
I had BB Storm and simply added my exchange server email by just entering my username and password.I am trying on SF and keep getting an error even after entering domain, server, etc.Does this only work on Android phones with Corp email data added? And if so, I've read many problems with getting emails via exchange. Don't want to spend $15/month, but at least want it to work if i do.Are there any 3rd party programs that will run exchange emails?

I have no problem accessing my work email from any regular computer, but when I try to access it with my phone a message comes back saying the server is not available (ie. it won't let me in from my mobile phone). I don't know if this is a firewall security thing with Lotus Notes/Server administration or if my phone's browser can't handle it. Is there a certain android browser I should be using or is there an app that I can download that will allow me to access my webmail? When a mobile device tries to access a site, does the site know it's a mobile device? Is there any way around this?The way I access work email through the internet is by going to a specific web site and logging into the site. From there I can see my email. I can't do this with my phone.

I've started the server and I've created the socket like this: ... new ServerSocket(7000);

I have a simple Java client application (Android app). I have to write a PHP server application which receives a request from the Java client application to write some data to a MySQL database or read some data from the MySQL database. It should respond with a status message (Write failed/success) or the data requested respectively. How would I get the Java client send a request and receive the reply from the PHP program and how would the PHP program receive the request and send the reply? I have googled about SOAP and REST architectures, but looking for a simple tutorial which will allow me to implement this simple program.
