HTC Incredible :: Gmail App Does Not Delete On Server?

May 3, 2010

I was using HTC's mail app, but I wasn't getting notifications when the phone was in sleep mode so I switched to Gmail. I sent myself a few test emails and deleted or read them on the phone. However, when I open my account on a browser, it shows that they are unread and they are still on the account. What am I doing wrong?

HTC Incredible :: Stock Mail App Wont Delete On Server

I'm using the stock mail app for my hotmail account. I receive the mail just fine and I can delete the messages from the phone no problem. But if I delete the messages from the phone shouldn't they be deleting from the server as well? I would like to see them gone the next time I actually sign into my hotmail account from my laptop but they aren't. I have to physically delete them again from my laptop for them to actually be gone. Can anyone shed some light?

I am using Gmail. When I receive an e-mail, I get the same e-mail twice one in the HTC mail box and the other in the Google mail box. I have tried to delete the HTC mail but it will not allow me. If I go to manage applications and choose HTC mail, I can choose forced stop which temporarily stops the double e-mail. It will always revert back however to receving e-mails. Is there a way to permanently stop HTC mail or delete it permanently?

Android :: K9 Does Not Delete On Server

Aug 12, 2010

This subject seems to be have been discussed at length various times in the past and I have to confess, I am confused. So can I keep it simple and take it from the top (again)?I have just installed K-9 v2803 on my HTC Desire (Android 2.6.29)It is connecting via IMAP to a Zimbra server.I haven't fiddles with settings straight install, setup the account, off we go.So far everything seems to work EXCEPT deleting.I'm a simple soul - I expect that when I delete a message on the phone it gets deleted on the server as well right?Wrong. If I delete a message on the server side (Entourage on a Mac talking to the Zimbra server) bang! it gets deleted off the phone exactly as I want. But not the other way. Deleting off the phone removes it out of the inbox in K-9 but the message resolutely stays in the server inbox. Can someone explain why this stupid behavious is happening, and better still, what I can do to fix it?

HTC EVO 4G :: Delete Mail On EVO But Leave On Server?

Sep 30, 2010

I did a search and found nothing in the forums that was directly related to this so I started a new thread.I just got my EVO last night.I have two email accounts.A hotmail account, and an Exchange Activesync account. Both are set up and are working fine.Coming from a Blackberry, I am used to deleting the least important emails from the phone as I am on the road, leaving them to be handled later when I am at the computer. My job is email driven so I get 100+ per day from my work account. It is important to me to be able to delete the emails that can wait from the phone, leaving only the most important ones for me to answer while on the road.I called Sprint and after they played with the phone for 20 minutes while on hold, they could not find a way to delete emails from the EVO but leave them on the server for later download by computer.

Android :: Can I Selectively Delete Receive Emails Off Of POP Server

Jun 29, 2010

I used to have a BlackBerry. The global setting was to leave email on the POP server. However, when I deleted emai(s) from the BB I was asked if I wanted to also delete it from the POP server. This was handy in that I could selectively delete junk email so that when I got back to my computer I didn't have to bother with them. The Android doesnt seem to have this capability on an email by email basis. You have to set a global setting for the application for all email. Am I missing something or can I actually selectively choose emails to also be deleted from my POP server.

My Configuration: HTC Droid Incredible on Verizon Wireless network. 8GB memory card. Android 2.1 OS. Home computer = iMac running v10.6.3 Snow Leopard. I use Apple Mail, iCal and Address Book on the iMAC. I use a POP3 server for email. I have a Google Gmail account; which I only use as a go-between to sync contacts and calendar between my iMac and Droid I dont really send/receive from Gmail. I link my iMac to Google to sync contacts and calendar events. I link my Google accounts to my Droid to sync my contact and calendar events. I only open up my Apple Mail application on my iMac when Im at the computer, so that I can get incoming email on my Droid. I have accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. I use a Plantronics discovery Bluetooth 925 headset as well as a wired over the head headset with a jack adaptor.

If I delete them on my home computer they still show up on my hero (Same with my work computer, delete and stills hows on my hero). What settings do I need to flip so that if I delete the emails on one system they don't show up on any of the other systems. (same with showing read). Is it a matter of IMPA vs POP3? It gets annoying to have to delete 30+ emails every morning on my hero after I've read them on my PC.

Android :: Using C2DM To Receive Notification From Gmail Server

I'd like my Android app to receive notification when new messages arrive in my gmail account. I realize that the Android gmail client does not broadcast notification when it receives messages. I read the article at http://code.google.com/android/c2dm/ - the only "missing piece" for me is to understand how my app sends a
registration ID to the gmail server. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
