I'm coming from WM6. I use to use Dashwire which synced all my contacts, pics, txt messages to an online accessible site. Unfortunately, dashwire doesnt support android.
1. Are there any sites like this for android?
2. Are there any online sites that support WM6 and Android? This would make it alot easier for me to transfer my contacts and info from my WM6 phone to android.

I've created an app that produces a document, and now I'm thinking of how to make a backup online of the document. One idea I've got is to upload it to Google docs. Then it's private and no one else can access the file. Is that a feasibility solution? Any example code how to upload/download files in an Android app to Google docs? I
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've rooted my Dinc and got skyraider 2.5.2 with full backup through titanium and nandroid.
Here are my questions.
1) Is there a way to transfer the exact status of my previous contact to my new rom? I've linked and synced all my contacts with facebook and stuffs and it looks like all those links have been disconnected. I don't want to link again manually.
2) Why does titanium not backup SMS? I've restored my titanium backup and none of my SMS got restored. Luckly I've used SMS Backup & Restore to backup, so that's not a problem, but I was wondering if I'm misssing something in titanium.
3) When I'm restoring apps with titanium, I have to keep giving permissions to install apps (clicking install button). I have around 80 apps, and I would much prefer if it's automatic without asking for my permission. Is there a way to do that?

I is supposed to be LIST manager (like collections or things to take on a trip) and not TO DO manager, so the notifications are not necessary. For to do's I have "Got to do" and it's great. What is important for me is so that this app would allow both online and offline browsing on my phone and computer, so that the files must be stored locally. What I mean by ONLINE is that it can be accessed via webpage WITHOUT ANY EXTERNAL application. CloudList is almost what I've been looking for BUT it does not support offline browsing. For the lack of better solution I was thinking about 3 bananas, but list structures in 3 bananas are very limited. Any other ideas?

I've seen like 5 completed syncs in the log, out of prolly 30 total attempts. Either way, i cant log in to check the contacts online. I get this:

I'm planning to buy a new phone next week (last one got stolen), and I'm kinda thinking about an android one. I've got three requirements: -An easily manageble "to do"-list om the home screen (e.g stickynotes) -A good calendar (which may or may not be able to sync with google calendar, no biggie!) -Ability to sync my adress book with an online server (google sync?) every month or so...(That was two years' worth of contacts, damnit Anyway, my question is this: Would an android phone really be the best choice for me? I'm kinda on a tigt budget, and I've heard horror stories of Android phones/Iphones having to connect to the net every day or so... But the only thing I really need the internet for is for syncing (the adress book once a month, the calendar every week or so), checking my mail now and then and for downloading the occasional app (e.g. stickynotes).

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've checked my phone's sync settings, synced several times, logged in and out of Gmail online to see if anything has been updated. No such luck. Icon by phone numbers saved on phone is a cell phone, rather than the letter "G" which typically represents contacts pulled from Gmail online. I've had this issue - I believe - with my previous Samsung. Although I've seen this question brought up before, the answers are typically not device specific or have not been useful and clear to follow.
As a new user, I had difficulty negotiating this site and finding the best place to post this. There is not an LG Optimus L9 Forum so, if there is a location where this post might encourage more visibility.
Now you can control your TV from anywhere.. set-dvr and so forth. it be great if you can watch dvr recorded stuff but oh well.

Just ordered a VZW Incredible today waiting a few weeks for it to come. In the meantime, is there somewhere online I can see it demoed? I'm an iphone swicher, and am used to Apple's posh snazzy videos showing me how to do stuff. Anything similar for the Incredible? Looking forward to being a part of the Android community, and being able to make and receive phone calls (as opposed to now on my phone).

I've had 3 online chats and have received different answers each time. In my last chat, they told me every possible answer, yes, no, depends, doesn't depend, what the website says, not what the website says.I tried to order earlier today, and I thought on the checkout screen it said free activation.Not sure whats changed. Now when I try it lists a $35 activation fee. But on the left of the screen is a box that says free activation, Friday-Monday, will be credited on 1st or 2nd bill.Things I changed was logging in through my university website (discount), and trying a 1yr commitment.I've been told several times that the free activation is only on a 2yr commitment. But I don't see it say that anywhere online.This whole process is not inspiring confidence in Verizon. I cannot get an answer to a simple question about the supposed free activation. They make the rules overly complex and keep changing them. They reps are clueless. Reminds me too much of Sprint.

I use a mac at home, so i dont really use HTC sync, but i would be prepared to install a windows version, on my mac if it was really worth while.
Does using htc sync, work like making a complete backup of your phone ?.
The reason i ask is because, i had a disaster earlier, and had to do a reset, in turn having to reinstall everything & stuff, screens/ favourites etc.
When new versions of android are available, do you always have to go thru the process of reinstalling all your stuff again.
Rooted DInc then removed some apps like city id. I had purchased some apps before I rooted and I was curious as to first, how and where do I backup using titanium backup? Second, say if I factory reset my phone then put the paid apps back on would it still recognize that I already paid and still give new updates? Also side question, if I remove friendstream will facebook still sync with the facebook app and sync photos my phone book?
I have an LG Ally and all my contacts are pretty much loaded on my gmail account, but i have backup assistant installed because the VZ guy added it to get all my contacts from my Env2 onto my new android phone.
My question is how do i get all of my contacts that are now synced with gmail BACK to backup assistant? it's sounds kind of silly but i want to make sure that all my contacts will be there for me in case i have to go back to my Env2 or another phone that does not support google sync.
I'm trying to figure this out. I bought Titanium Backup today just because one of the features it offered was syncing with Dropbox. It says it's an experimental feature which I take to mean buggy as hell, but I'm willing to try it out. I can't figure out how to set it up though. I've dug through all the settings and it's possible I'm missing something completely, but I don't know where. Can anyone walk me through how to do this? Being able to sync my backups to the cloud is a huge thing for me.
