My calendar syncs in only one direction: in other words if I enter an event on my PC in google calendar, it shows up on my phone...but if I enter the event on the phone first, it doesn't sync to my google calendar online..is that normal?

Have successfully imported my old calendar to Google Calendar which initially synced with the calendar on my captivate. However, when I add a new event to my phone calendar, it does not automatically show up on the Google calendar. the Samsung rep told me I have to edit each new even to mark it as a "Google Calendar". Is there any way to make this the default option on the Captivate phone? I am hoping to have automatic syncronization b/t the phone and the Google calendar without having to force it to do so each time.
View 15 Replies View RelatedThe main problem I am having is syncing with Google Calendar. It shows it hasn't synced since August 20th. It is checked to sync and shows the sync (circle with arrows) symbol but it never syncs. In contrast, my GMAIL is having no problems syncing...only the calendar. My wife and I share our gmail account to keep calendar's in sync and it happens on her phone too.

I've seen like 5 completed syncs in the log, out of prolly 30 total attempts. Either way, i cant log in to check the contacts online. I get this:

So, I haven't been able to sync the AppBrain app up with the online website. I want to download all the apps that I've selected on the website.
I've done this already for about 70 apps.
I've already checked my connection with my gmail account, it's all good. I'm just going to go through and install them all manually, but if anyone has any ideas, let me know.
It doesn't work with Outlook 2010!
View 2 Replies View RelatedToday, I managed to sync. my Lotus Notes calendar with google calendar (after 2 days of turmoil)Then the notes events were displayed on google calendar but 6 hours ahead (like GMT) thought both calendars were set on the same time zone (CST).At this point, the calendar pad widget synced with google calendar and displayed all my lotus notes events 6 hours ahead as in the google calendar.I then changed my google calendar time zone to GMT so that my lotus notes events showed the correct time .But now, the calendar pad widget still shows the old google calendar events that was 6 hours off even after syncing.Can some one please help configure such that my lotus notes , google calendar and calendar pad widget all show the same events at same time (hopefully, maintaining the same time zone settings for all)

View 13 Replies View Relatedevents created on phone won't go to google calendar. I believe I have the sync set up right, events on my google calendar have synced to my phone. A previous thread states you have to choose "google calendar" when generating an event on the calendar on the phone, however, when I try to edit the event, under "Calendar" the setting is "My calendar" but I can't change the setting (tapping on it does nothing)

I am still rocking my Blackberry 8310, and have really enjoyed how seamlessly I have been able to sync my contacts and calendar with my Macbook programs (ical and address book). View 7 Replies View RelatedI've now had and used my Samsung Moment for a full month now, and I have to say this is the best phone I have ever used.
I carry multiple smartphones on me, usually a Blackberry of some sort, Palm Treos / Centros, iPhone, and now my Samsung Moment. While all the smartphones are really good, the Samsung Moment has been really great.
Despite all the complaints you read here, I have only had a couple of minor annoyances:
1. The Google Calendar widget doesn't default to the current day when you click on it. I have accidentally entered appointments for "today" when I realize a bit later that it was on another day that I had scrolled to previously. I hope there will be a setting to always display the current day in the future.
2. I use Astrid to sync my to do list with Remember The Milk. Anytime I add a new task if I'm using the physical keyboard, and slide it shut and go to the portrait mode for the virtual keyboard, somehow my text is wiped clean and I have to start from scratch again.
The battery life is excellent. Based on my moderate use, I easily get 2-3 days out of my phone, which is as good as my Palm Centro or my Blackberries.So glad I have this phone, can't wait for future updates though to play with.
I am the proud new owner of a Fascinate (Eris refugee). Love this phone! I don't seem to have any GPS issues, and reception/call quality is excellent so I guess I got a good one...
Except for one thing. My Google calendar will NOT come down into the phone. I've got my email, contacts, FB, everything else is sync'd up perfectly. But the calendar sync just keeps spinning, and anytime I try to open the calendar on the phone, it black screens and hangs for about 3-4 minutes before FC'ing on me. I understand there is a known issue with creating events on the phone calendar and not syncing to gCal - this is not that problem. The phone seems to be "stuck" trying to sync the calendar. I've let it sit there and spin until it stops. I've pulled the battery, removed downloaded apps, done about everything I can think of here. I've spent quite a bit of time getting this phone set up and I've got it dialed in brilliantly - I really REALLY do not want to throw the last several hours of getting this phone set up right out the window, but it looks like that is my only real option - a factory reset.
I'm using the email app that came installed on my AT&T Captivate to check my gmail and Exchange email but I also setup the gmail app in order to sync with my gmail contacts and calendar. I now get my gmail in both apps, is there a way to stop the gmail from retrieving my email without affecting sync with contacts and calendar?
Can I stop the gmail app from running all the time if so how? everytime i check task killer i have both email apps running.
Is anyone having a problem withing synching your phone calendar to Google? I can from Google to my phone but not myphone togoogle.

This is a weird problem but when my calendar syncs it syncs all the events but they are all several hours later than they are on my Google Calendar on my computer. I'm looking at my phone and my computer right now, and all the events are here except all events on my phone are pushed back. Any ideas?

I would like to have all the calendars sync using the phone as the main source. So for example if I create a meeting on my phone it also shows on my exchange calendar and my google calendar. At the moment I have to add a calendar entry under the calendar I want the entry to show up on.So If I add an entry to my exchange calendar it doesn't show in google calendar. He wants to sync his contacts and calendar.On my Droid, I go to accounts & sync > add account > Google > enter my address and password.i get offered to sync Calendar and/or Contacts, by clicking on the check box.On his Epic, he adds the account, but there are no options, no check boxes! Is this different somehow? It works fine with his gmail, but not his generic Google account. On my Droid it all works fine and everything is in sync.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnytime I click to add a new event it always defaults to "My Calendar"(phone built in one) as the Calendar it is going to add it too.I have checked my settings and I only have my google calendar checked so it shows all of those events.The "My Calendar" is unchecked too. But it always wants to add it to that one, not google. Any ideas how to change this? Or if not, is there another calendar app you could recommend I use instead of the stock then?This is really annoying that every event I have to change and select Google.I use google calendar for everything, and if I forget once it could cause a lot of problems. View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to get a handle on how to get the calendar on my vibrant to sync with my google calendar. If I schedule something on google calendar it syncs to the phone and if I delete that event on the phone, it deletes on the google calendar. But an event created on the phone doesn't show online. Mail and contacts seem to work fine.
Help with this issue would be great. Is there a setting I'm missing? If there are any links to online resources about interoperability between the phone and things google, I'd appreciate that as well.
I've checked my phone's sync settings, synced several times, logged in and out of Gmail online to see if anything has been updated. No such luck. Icon by phone numbers saved on phone is a cell phone, rather than the letter "G" which typically represents contacts pulled from Gmail online. I've had this issue - I believe - with my previous Samsung. Although I've seen this question brought up before, the answers are typically not device specific or have not been useful and clear to follow.
As a new user, I had difficulty negotiating this site and finding the best place to post this. There is not an LG Optimus L9 Forum so, if there is a location where this post might encourage more visibility.
