HTC Legend :: Optimum Settings For Phone?
May 15, 2010Had my Legend 1 week now and as its my 1st touchscreen am very pleased with it As a new user and new to android phones there appears to be alot in the all programs menu. Is there an optimal settings for the phone to get the best out of it.....I suppose I am asking is it standard to delete stuff immediatly and install other things. i have read something about an app that monitors your data useage? what is it and is it something that should be installed. What other things would members suggest to install. thus far have installed. Text to speech from this forum...speech to text from this forum...awesome this is barcode scanner.

Is it simply to kill the roaming? Or the Data traffic option? Or would you call the carrier to be doubly sure?Still want to be able to use the Wi-Fi as it's free in the Lobby!! May 7, 2010I'm coming from WM6. I use to use Dashwire which synced all my contacts, pics, txt messages to an online accessible site. Unfortunately, dashwire doesnt support android.

2. Are there any online sites that support WM6 and Android? This would make it alot easier for me to transfer my contacts and info from my WM6 phone to android.

Apr 30, 2010I have always purchased phones in the store. However to take advantage of the $30 promo code I am trying to order online. However, I do not see where it offers me the option to "upgrade" as I am going to be using my NE2 $100 credit. Towards the end of the online purchase it only asks me if I would like a new number or if I am transferring from another service. What am I doing wrong?

HTC Incredible : Inc Demo Video Somewhere Online?
Jun 8, 2010Just ordered a VZW Incredible today waiting a few weeks for it to come. In the meantime, is there somewhere online I can see it demoed? I'm an iphone swicher, and am used to Apple's posh snazzy videos showing me how to do stuff. Anything similar for the Incredible? Looking forward to being a part of the Android community, and being able to make and receive phone calls (as opposed to now on my phone).

Apr 19, 2010I'm trying to show up for new service with Verizon and get the Incredible.But I cannot figure out if activation is free. I've had 3 online chats and have received different answers each time. In my last chat, they told me every possible answer, yes, no, depends, doesn't depend, what the website says, not what the website says.I tried to order earlier today, and I thought on the checkout screen it said free activation.Not sure whats changed. Now when I try it lists a $35 activation fee. But on the left of the screen is a box that says free activation, Friday-Monday, will be credited on 1st or 2nd bill.Things I changed was logging in through my university website (discount), and trying a 1yr commitment.I've been told several times that the free activation is only on a 2yr commitment. But I don't see it say that anywhere online.This whole process is not inspiring confidence in Verizon. I cannot get an answer to a simple question about the supposed free activation. They make the rules overly complex and keep changing them. They reps are clueless. Reminds me too much of Sprint.

Apr 20, 2010I received a letter from Verizon a month ago offering me an extra $50 credit for my NE2 upgrade to make a total of $150 - the catch was the offer expired April 15. Right then I knew the Incredible would be released after 4/15!
My question is - is there any hope of convincing vzw online sales or a store to extend the expiration date of the credit? I asked one online sales person and they said "no we can't do that for an online sale, but call a store, and they might be able to". So I called a store and they said "no when it comes in we won't be able to do that, but maybe online sales can". So is this a futile attempt? Should I wait until they are in stores on 4/29 and go in and talk to a manager? Or give up and pre-order now?
HTC Incredible :: Online Google Calendar And Phone Google Calendar Mis-match
Aug 4, 2010Today, I managed to sync. my Lotus Notes calendar with google calendar (after 2 days of turmoil)Then the notes events were displayed on google calendar but 6 hours ahead (like GMT) thought both calendars were set on the same time zone (CST).At this point, the calendar pad widget synced with google calendar and displayed all my lotus notes events 6 hours ahead as in the google calendar.I then changed my google calendar time zone to GMT so that my lotus notes events showed the correct time .But now, the calendar pad widget still shows the old google calendar events that was 6 hours off even after syncing.Can some one please help configure such that my lotus notes , google calendar and calendar pad widget all show the same events at same time (hopefully, maintaining the same time zone settings for all)

Jul 12, 2010When I am at home and want to connect to the net using wifi, my Desire connects to the network immediately and has excellent reception. But it can't go online with ANY of my programs, whether to check mail, download updates on the market or just surf. None of the other devices I use at home have any trouble getting online, so it isn't my router or connection (I think). And when I got to my office today, my phone instantly recognized the network here and can go online with no problems. I have had the phone for about two months now, and this problem is only a few days old. Before that I had no issues with this.
