So my new incredible doesn't update like my blackberry did. I checked the settings and the notifications are selected, but nothing comes through. When I open the app and goto the home screen and then notifications, I have to force a refresh to see my responses, etc.

On the Facebook app, when you go into your Home, you can select Notifications. I'm assuming this will show you anything new such as friend requests, etc.. It doesn't show anything for me. I have reset the phone 3 times and I still cannot get this section to work. I also go to Menu>Refresh and it still says "No notifications". I know I have some notifications pending because the desktop and mobile site both say I do. Does anyone else have this problem? I have also uninstalled any Facebook updates and it still does not fix this. Am I missing something?

The option is turned on in Market, sync is active etc and I don't get notifications, have to manually go into Market and check the downloads list. Sometimes there will be 10 updates in there. I used to get a notification when anything had an update... Anyone know why this stopped working?

View 6 Replies View RelatedFor awhile, my Facebook push notifications were working just fine until I had updated to Jelly Bean. I tried everything.. to clearing cache, data, uninstalling, and even the BlackBerry trick again (worked once before) and couldn't for the life of me figure out why they weren't working anymore. I thought maybe it was Facebook clashing with JB. I read everywhere and found out some people had no issues and some had some where every push notifications didn't work and some just Facebook.
Well I spend a day or so trying to figure it out and finally found a new, simple fix.
1) Open the Facebook app.
2) Tap on menu button on the top left
3) Account > Account Settings
4) Apps and Websites
5) Clear out Facebook related apps (Like Friendcaster or HTC Sense)
6) Clear data on the Facebook app and launch app
I noticed some off the apps in there have a push notification toggle button and I believe it was messing up the push notification system of there was to many to keep up with.
Once I spent 20 mins clearing those apps out, I cleared data and started the app notifications started working again. I didn't know it worked until someone wrote on my wall and I was shocked to see a notification!

It seems to me that the Facebook notifications are all (sound, LED, vibrate, status bar) broken on the Droid. Anyone have working notifications on the Droid?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have friendstream running, and it seems to update twitter just fine, but for some odd reason facebook status messages don't get updated unless I manually refresh.
I have double checked everything too, it should be checking every hour, so I have no clue what is going on. Anyone else experiencing this? Or does anyone know of a solid workaround?
How do I get notified when I have a new facebook message? I don't seem to be getting any, but when I use the Facebook app, I can see new messages. I'm coming from a BB Curve where I got actual facebook message notifications when I had a new message or someone replied to a thread that I had commented in. Does Android not do that?

Both Facebook and Gmail apps have notifications checked off to show when new messages are received but they never put a notification in my notification panel of my phone or sound a tone or vibrate even tho they are set to. View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Droid Incredible back in July, and it worked amazingly for the last couple of months. All my apps have been running smoothly until recently, when Facebook started giving me problems. Now I don't know if this is a server thing, facebook itself, or a glitch in my phone, but I keep getting error messages.
When I refresh my notifications I get:
Cannot retrieve notifications. Please try again later. [601/Parser error: unexpected '-' at position 64.]
And occasionally I get another error/null type message when I try to refresh my newsfeed.
I've tried to reboot my phone, reinstall facebook, let my phone die recharge it blah blah blah. So, if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! Thanks :]
Anyone else getting an error on facebook when they check for notifications? i keep getting this long as error, and i can't connect a facebook account, but my friends and newsfeed are all updated. it's just notifications.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have seen quite a few posts about FB notifications. However I don't get any of these. But I installed the Android version since the HTC version didn't have an Inbox. Is that why I don't get Facebook notifications, ie is that a difference between the 2 apps? The only notifications I get are emails that someone commented etc.
With the Blackberry version, those emails come in, but the FB app knows to take them over and remove the email so you aren't inundated with FB updates in your email Inbox.
Coming from an iPhone I guess I was spoiled because the facebook app for Android sucks! Friend Stream is a little better but you can't upload pictures and don't' get notifications. Just wondering if there is anything better out there?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy friendstream and facebook app aren't working. Whenever I open friendstream it loads for a minute or two and then just tells me I have to force close it. And as for facebook the actual app works, but when I try to use the widget it tells me problem loading gadget. But if I delete it, reinstall it, and don't download the update it works fine. Is this just me or is it a problem with the app?

I tried sync-ing my contact book for my facebook contact updates but it showed no updates even after a few days, but my contacts do have updates on actual Facebook.So I thought I'd try to delete off my account from Accounts&Sync and re-add my account again after a few minutes.After re-adding the account, my friend stream works fine, sync-ed as per normal but when I click on my contacts book/people and tried to link my contacts to their facebook, it showed a blank list and words in the middle showing "No matches found", in other words, I don't have friends?I waited for a hours and tried to re-add and sync again but still can't link my contacts to their facebook because it doesn't show up any facebook link for me to link to my contacts no matter how I try.I resetted my phone back to factory defaults and tried again but it's still the same.

This should be something easy. It is so frustrating. Is there any way of doing this other than opening up the full site on another browser. I really don't want to deal with the full site, I just want to update my status and attach a pic? going into the gallery and sharing it that way unloads it to your facebook albums but there is no way to link to it when posting a status update.
Hey folks, I have a rooted desire witba customer. ROM installed. On The marketplace it is saying that there's an update for both of the aforementioned apps. However, when I try to install them it always fails. These are The only 2 that seem to be a problem.
