How can i make it so i view my facebook notifications in my facebook app? I dont want to keep going in-between the facebook app and my browser to check every single one.

I have a HTC Desire, and it's pretty much amazing and all. One of the things that bugs me tho, (coming from the iPhone which had that ability) is that the Facebook app, don't show any notifications, and that is something I'd really want. I've tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything use full. cam out really be true that I can't get any app's which can show me notifications from face book?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI haven't been using the Facebook app since the version 1.3.2 battery issue, but I've noticed that recently it's been updated to 1.4.1. So I thought I'd give it another try, and they seem to have fixed the battery issue which is great, but I'm now missing notifications (i.e. when you tap the blue bar at the bottom you get a list of comments people have made either after your comments, or on your photos and things). For example, this morning I had 8 notifications on the app, but when I checked the mobile site there were two that hadn't pushed through to the facebook app. Anyone else get this? I have the feeling I'm missing a really simple setting somewhere.

Second, I was getting email notifications very quickly untill 2 days ago when they all stopped, and as of yesterday I could at least view new emails though I was not getting a notification, but now I'm not getting the new emails or the notification... what happened?
facebook app (one that comes with phone) seems to have some problems loading notifications most of the time and also other unknown errors... like "Cannot retreive notifications.... [601/parse error... at position 57] and some others.

Mine has been stuck since Jan 6 (only that page) and g I can just go to the website, it's downright annoying.
I have it set up to receive SMS notifications from a handful of my friends whenever they update their status, post something on my wall, etc. and it used to work perfectly on my Blackberry. My Facebook app on my HTC Evo was working fine until about a week ago, when suddenly I started getting this error message:
"Cannot retrieve the notifications. Please try again later. [601/Parser Error: Unexpected "-" at position 64.]"
Any suggestions for a fix? I've tried logging out and back in, and I can't figure out how to reinstall the app (uninstall option isn't available on the app settings screen).
I'm sure you all have hated the Android Facebook app as much as I have. Notifications, wall posts, etc. all opened in the browser....
Well, check your Market Downloads. There is finally an update available. I've only played with it for a few minutes but it seems to be a BIG improvement.
So my new incredible doesn't update like my blackberry did. I checked the settings and the notifications are selected, but nothing comes through. When I open the app and goto the home screen and then notifications, I have to force a refresh to see my responses, etc.

Both Facebook and Gmail apps have notifications checked off to show when new messages are received but they never put a notification in my notification panel of my phone or sound a tone or vibrate even tho they are set to. View 4 Replies View RelatedLong time crackberry user converted to android. I got my DX on release day, and have been fighting with facebook since. I cannot seem to get any notifications for facebook what so ever. I set up the "Social Networking" app that came on the X out of the box, and that integrated all my FB friends into my contacts which sucks, but anyway, then I downloaded the facebook app for android. I set up all the settings for notifications, and sounds and all that.
But no matter what, I cannot get a facebook notification like I did on my blackberry. Ill get yahoo emails saying so and so commented on your photo, or what not. But nothing else from FB instant. I have to manually go into my facebook app, go to notifications, hit the menu button and select refresh. Last night for some reason I got the little F in the top left notification bar that someone invited me to join an event. But I cant seem to get anything to mimic it again. I've checked HOFO and they suggested I check here.
