Is there an app that is similar to City ID thats available on the Market (that's free)?
Although its really just an added luxury of seeing what the originating area of the call is, I wouldn't mind having it.

Okay what is this City ID app? Its always turned on in my task killer and I don't even know what it is or use it. Can anyone help, I tried uninstalling it but it wont let me.
View 40 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure why, but the weather widget says that my city doesn't exist. I want to put it to Apple Valley, CA but nothing comes up. I checked the 3 nearest cities and they all did not exist either (Victorville, Hesperia, and Barstow). Can anyone else try adding the city to theirs and see if it pops up for them? I wonder if it's a bug with mine.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Dinc shows Memphis on the Clock/Weather on the home screen.I am in South Florida.I have only had the Dinc for 2 days now, at first it was showing the correct city or a close neighbor, now it is not.How can I get this changed?It has also changed the time to Central time vs Eastern.I do know enough about the phone yet to know where to make the change.

It is free for I think the first 30 days. After which to keep using it you will need to pay 1.99 per month.
Anyone know of a free app that would do the same thing? 1.99 a month is pretty ridiculous for what it does.

View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently, the weather part of the clock widget has not been displaying the right city. the city is very close to where i live though. it is currently showing "east san gabriel valley" but i actually live in "diamond bar". these are both little cities (very close to each ohter) in southern california. is this caused by the cell tower that the phone is connected to? if i enable wifi, the city does show diamond bar.

I am trying to determine the city in USA the user is in using their current location from an Android App. I want to use the GPS as the location provider but how accurately can I determine the name of the city from the Locale or Latitude / Longitude data.
For instance I noticed the twitter app determines you are in Manhattan when tweeting from Manhattan, but is it possible to retrieve New York City instead of Manhattan from the location data and likewise Los Angeles instead of Beverly Hills.
This is because all I need to determine is which city the user is in as per the current location.
I've tried everything. No matter what, the HTC clock/weather widget shows the incorrect current city. Any ideas?

Then I moved to another town, and since few days the whether widget shows me city i bought the phone, and not the city I'm in. I tried having gps on, localization by wireless network on and so on, and it still does not update to correct city. What Can I do for it to work?

1: I had a program on 1.5 that was called city caller ID and it displayed the city and state of incoming calls. When I upgraded to the newest software, I can't locate this software in the Android market. So I was wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions on Caller ID apps that work good?
2: In regards to the other app, I was wondering if they had something like the Blackberry does where when I have the phone plugged in and the screen times out, a clock would be on the screen instead of just the normal black screen?
I live in the United Kingdom and have been trying to find the town that I live in, but when I do a search for it I find nothing. some help so I can have my town displayed on screen? At the moment I have showing a town which is 15 miles from me.

However, I've come to find out that this is a blackout area for League Pass. Does anyone know of a way to change the Droid's location so that League Pass thinks I am in a different city? I see there is a way on the iPhone, but I can't find anything for the Droid.

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo since the 2.1 OTA my weather widget will display the city, but no weather icon. if i sync it manually, it will show up. with 1.5 it would update every 3 hours, regardless if i had Background data on or off (i normally keep it off).
so now with 2.1 it wont sync unless i have BG data on, or do it manually. any way around this?
My market app is saying "a server error occurred..." and my options are to retry or cancel. Is there an apk of the newest version of the market available? Im running 2.2 skyraider oc'ed if that makes a difference.

I see an update available in App Brain for it, but the market link it takes me to is the free trial page. Today, App Brain pointed me to the google maps 4.4 update. Market didn't alert me of this update, but the market page for it seemed legit.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since the OTA update everytime I go to update an app or install a new one it goes to download and I get a force close everytime. When I click back on the market its like 50/50 if its actually still downloading/installing the app. Otherwise it'll just forceclose again when I retry to download it. Nothing else on my phone broke from the update but this is kinda bugging me..
