How to reduce the ridiculous battery drain caused by playing this game on my Galaxy S3? It literally kills my phone in 90 minutes.
GT-I9300
On VZW, with a brand new Galaxy S5.
Battery will make it about 7 hours. Exchange services is using about 50%. Set to push. Got maybe 6 emails over the weekend.
Not a tenable solution , everything else is OK. Was thinking about returning the phone for another one, but , I can't believe it is the HW.
Exchange set up exactly like my old razr, also just checked with another person at work with a S3, we have exchange set up the same way.
Google+ is killing my battery with this partial wakelock. Short of freezing it with Titanium (which does solve the problem for me), how to prevent this from running? It literally runs as long as my phone is on, and is just draining my battery.
On HTC Sensation, S-Off, rooted, using stock ROM (4.0.3)
I own a Jiayu G4 Advanced for about a week now and I have been having these weird battery drops. Whenever it reaches about 40%, it drains to about 10% in just minutes. I already tried battery calibration, newer version of the ROM and even a factory reset without result...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've updated handcent and facebook and now my phone dies while I'm sleeping. It was at 50% when I went to bed. I have the sync for facebook set at once a day and never had this happen till after I updated those two apps. I now have to charge my phone 3 times a day! This is getting ridiculous.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I never use wifi or GPS. I keep the screen pretty low and don't use the motoblur stuff. I still can't get trough a day! Does Open Home or Panda Home kill the battery? What about my SlideIt keyboard?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWill take the past three days for example. Monday i took ONE picture and all day under menu>settings>about phone>battery>battery use..... it said the camera app used 94% of my battery and that was after a days use.
Tuesday then rolls around and i didn't use my camera and i had charged my phone monday night but whats weird is it still said the camera app used about 87% of my battery and my battery died QUICK that day.
Today is wednesday and so far the only time i used my camera was when i quickly opened the bar code scanner app but i didn't even scan a code i just opened it for maybe 3 seconds and today it says the camera used 47% of my battery.
Is my camera app staying open even though under running services it isn't there and neither is it there when i use task killers such as "Android system Info"
I have an EVO and I have a problem with it. I downloaded the app Advanced Task Killer to take care of apps running in the background. However sometimes when I pull it up I find that things like Sprint Navigation, Qik, Voice Dialer, and sometimes others are running without me pulling them up. My question is, how do I keep these apps from doing this, because they kill my battery when they come on and I don't know it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone had any advice on which applications I should avoid/uninstall to try to conserve some battery. For example, does it use up a ton of battery to have location aware apps running or is it pretty nominal?
View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically I was messing around and decided to check my battery usage because it seemed to have run down pretty fast lately, and i see this. Whenever i run my camera once this seems to happen. I always use the back button to back out of the camera after i use it and i've gone as far as ending all tasks using the system app. Is there any way to stop the camera from using so much of my battery, or should I just stop using it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI seem to have loads of apps running and its killing the battery! I have jorte and handcent, both running constantly. Do I need them running, if not how do i turn them off?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOn the 23rd I downloaded Astro, At night I turn my phone off and the next morning my battery was down 30%, It was down 30% again the next morning. Does this app do this to anyone else. On the 21st my phone was at 100% before I turned it off and on the 22nd in the morning it was still at 100%.
View 40 Replies View RelatedIn the past week or so, I've noticed my battery life drastically decrease. I could easily go a day and a half with moderate use (some web surfing, all my apps and widgets going, etc.). Last week, my battery was gone one day in about 7.5 hours. I thought it was from installing Screebl Lite. I disabled Screebl, same problem. So I uninstalled Screebl, same problem. I have Spare Parts installed, but it's not the most intuitive thing in the world. I try looking at the battery usage stats, but it says "Android System" is the biggest battery user. And I don't know what is good, what is bad, what is normal.
Example: Today, I had my phone at 100% charge. Took it off the charger around 10 AM. Around 11:00, I paired up the new Bluetooth headset I got for Christmas. I made a call. Listened to a couple of songs. Watched a couple of minutes of video. I browsed the Market for a few, disabled bluetooth and went about my day. By about 6:00, I was at 5%.
I know that it used to kill batteries when you would recharge it before it was low and needed to be charged. I also heard it was bad to take an item off of the recharger before it was at 100%. Does any of that hold true with today's batteries, meaning the one that is in the Sprint Hero? Can I recharge it at night if the battery is at 48% and have it not hurt the battery or it's life? Just wondering because I have a charge at work and home and wait till it is in need of charging. That is sort of a pain, I would rather turn the phone off at night and charge it and have a fresh and fast phone in the morning.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMay seem like a dumb question but I constantly keep an eye on what apps are running to conserve battery life. It got me thinking if I stopped any running app before plugging in the charger, would it will make the battery charge any quicker??
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis morning I woke up and my droid had 20% charge left in it and it was fully charged when I went to sleep. This has never happened until after the update but I also got a new droid the same day. So I dont know if this is due to my new droid or the update. Has anyone else noticed this?
View 20 Replies View RelatedI'm as just at 30% battery after 10-11 hours of use and made an 8 minute call, first of the day, and suddenly it was down to 20% and said voice calls had been 25% of my battery for the day. what is going on?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe only recent change has been the Facebook update and an AK Notepad update...
It's the Facebook update isn't it?
Battery life down to 2-3 hours with little to no use.
I installed Opera mini and i think it is killing my battery. anybody else have this problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis morning I took my evo off the charger after charging the whole night. For some background info I have all my accounts to sync manually and I did the gsm data trick and I am not running a live wallpaper. So I start my phone and turn on my wifi( I have everything else off) I then go watch about 10 mins of youtube videos and check my email. So I started at 100% and at the end of the videos and checking my email I was at 75%! What is going on here? I have done everything I can to ensure proper battery life but this seems outrageous?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just took my phone off the charger from a full charge. My battery is down 12% with 15 minutes of use. All I did was check emails and this forum. Do I have a bad battery or am I over reacting? I don't want to exchange my phone for another incredible but if I have to I will. Maybe Verizon can swap batteries?
View 15 Replies View RelatedPlain and simple: When the Evo is fully charged, it begins running off its battery until you plug it back in. It DOES NOT trickle charge whatsoever after it reaches 100%. When you're using your Evo on the charger, and it's showing full 100% charge, it is running off the battery, not the AC plug. And then when you unplug it, well, we all know what happens next. The battery meter drops insanely fast to the actual charge of the battery, which could be very low, depending on how long it's been sitting idle at 100% on your charger. So all those times you've charged your Evo overnight, only to take it to work the next day and be at 80% within an hour? Your Evo was running off its battery for what I'm guessing was most of the night. It takes my Evo about an hour to two hours to fully charge back to 100%. Let's say you put your Evo on the charger at 11PM, it'll reach full charge by 1AM at the latest, and then run off its battery until whenever you take it off the charger in the morning. Workarounds? 1) Turn your Evo off while it's charging. 2) If you must leave it on for an alarm clock, put it in airplane mode and end all CPU intensive tasks to minimize battery drain. 3) When you wake up, unplug it for 10-20 minutes (still experimenting with this number), and then plug it back in to top it off. Onceit reaches 100%, take it off the charger, and go about your day. Try it out for yourself. When your Evo is 100% charged, take it off the charger immediately, and I highly doubt you will lose the 10%-15% within minutes.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI am using like 1% per minute or less Is it only me? This seems just nonsense. iphone 3gs can last 5minutes with 1%. can you guys tell me how long does your Dinc last?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently on a new client where it's constantly on 1X and occasionally switches back to 3G with 0 bars, then back to 1X. I got in to work at 8:30 am and by 5:00 the battery was at 30%. Battery Manager shows Cell Standby as 21% of the battery usage. I had about a 15 minute call this morning (presumably on 1X, I didn't check) and have not used the Internet at all for the rest of the day. This is obviously unacceptable. On my Droid Eris, there was a way to turn off the Mobile Network and use only 2G/1X for calls. I have researched and not found a similar option for the Droid X (Why would Motorola leave this out?) Does anyone know what my options are? I've heard you can go into the #*#*INFO*#*# menu and set it to 2G only, then restart, but that would be a pain to do every morning.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy battery seems to do alright but one thing that has really been bugging me is that every time my battery gets to 30/20% it dies almost instantly lasting no more than 15 minutes from normal usage (texting, checking email).
Is this normal or is mine a bad battery or a battery gone bad rather? Thing is the battery lasts a long except for the last quarter of the battery. I've never seen my battery hit any values below 20% except 5% which is when it turns off immediately after.Call for a replacement battery or is this normal? Do i have to reset my battery or something?
I've had my EVO for about a week now and i've been trying to figure out the most efficient way to get a good days worth of battery. Nothing I have done has worked so far, maybe I am missing something. I am only getting about an hour and 45 minutes of actual use out of the phone and its on standby for about 8 hours and needs to be charged. Is this normal? I dont think it is...I installed ATK to see if it would help kill apps that I dont need running, but it didnt seem to change much even on aggressive kill setting. I did have it set to kill whenever the screen turned off, but i just changed it to every half hour. would i benefit from rooting to get rid of Sense UI?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a utility at the top called Battery Indicator reporting the percentage of battery power remaining. I did a test where I would randomly click pages on this site and wait a few seconds on each page, over 3G, and concluded I was losing 1% every 2 minutes. Is this normal or is it comparable to your experience?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs this normal? That seems ridiculous. I have my screen on the lowest brightness, have all syncing off, have 3g, using a black background, GPS, Bluetooth off. Like wtf? Battery monitor says i have 290 hours remaining also. Im so confused
View 29 Replies View RelatedI woke up, my phone was at 100% charge. I turned it on to check email/facebook, etc and suddenly noticed that the battery had dropped to 50%. The battery breakdown menu shows that it dropped almost instantly, 82%, my screen which was at the lowest brightness setting. It's a Galaxy S3.
