I downloaded NBA League Pass Mobile because I am in Dayton, OH and Cavaliers games are rarely shown on Dayton's FSN. However, I've come to find out that this is a blackout area for League Pass. Does anyone know of a way to change the Droid's location so that League Pass thinks I am in a different city? I see there is a way on the iPhone, but I can't find anything for the Droid.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to determine the city in USA the user is in using their current location from an Android App. I want to use the GPS as the location provider but how accurately can I determine the name of the city from the Locale or Latitude / Longitude data.
For instance I noticed the twitter app determines you are in Manhattan when tweeting from Manhattan, but is it possible to retrieve New York City instead of Manhattan from the location data and likewise Los Angeles instead of Beverly Hills.
This is because all I need to determine is which city the user is in as per the current location.
I live in the United Kingdom and have been trying to find the town that I live in, but when I do a search for it I find nothing. some help so I can have my town displayed on screen? At the moment I have showing a town which is 15 miles from me.

My Dinc shows Memphis on the Clock/Weather on the home screen.I am in South Florida.I have only had the Dinc for 2 days now, at first it was showing the correct city or a close neighbor, now it is not.How can I get this changed?It has also changed the time to Central time vs Eastern.I do know enough about the phone yet to know where to make the change.

I changed my service address at verizon.com but my phone keeps showing my old town as it's default location on the clock widget and in other apps. I can pass data to the dialer, and call a phone number successfully, but now wish to use the turn-by-turn navigation as an additional function. It certainly seems like it is removed. But, when I go to the Market to try to reinstall it, it as listed as "installed" in the Downloads section. When I click on it, both the "Open" and "Uninstall" buttons are grayed out. So, I can't even reinstall it.
The app is Yellowbook (US Yellow Pages Search).
Is there some residual file on my phone that I might be able to delete with ES File Explorer or via adb?
I got a problem with my Samsung Galaxy, I can't make normal phone calls since all my sound goes threw the minijack plug. I've tried connecting and disconnecting earplugs over 9000 times but still nothing. powered it off and on a lot of times, removes batterij etc. nothing seems te work. My last desperate act is to reset it to factory settings, but before I'm doing that I'm asking if any of you have a better salution? when I'm in my car (bluethooth carkit) I can make normal calls aswell.

I just bought and IGO micro juice 2.1 amp. when connected make the phone think that is connected to a computer.I notice when that happen the phone charge super slow even with this charger rated at 2.1. if I run to apps at the same time its start discharging. MY 3 year old Igo charge alot faster even running a few apps at the same time.Is there any way that change that I feel that i waste my money with this charger if i canot make it charge like is a 2.1 amp.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my location on my phone keeps moving me to Portland... I'm in AZ. I have it set up to find location with GeoLocation. Not sure what the problem could be as I don't see a WiFi or Cell Antenna from Portland being able to communicate with my phone. This is effecting everything that uses location (Maps, Beautiful Widgets, Juice Defender, etc.).
I am running CM 6 rc1 and the Droid X theme. I just noticed it yesterday and I haven't had the problem before.
i've had my phone about 3 weeks now. up until last week, the htc weather widget would update to my current location. when i was home, it would show the town i live in. i also had the google internet option to use my location and this would also work perfectly until last sunday.now, the weather location was stuck on miami no matter where i went (as far north as west palm beach) and the internet shows up 'location unavailable'. i have found out that the gps is picking up where i am in goggle maps but it seems that the cell towers are not as far as weather and internet location are concerned. i have tried all of the obvious settings.i did a factory reset and now my weather says ft lauderdale which is closer to me but still not my town. it does not update (manually either) as i move. the internet location still says location unavailable although for a fleeting minute after the factory reset, it DID locate me....then it was gone so i called verizon, they didn't have a clue. then i took it to the store and it turns out EVERY phone the tech tried in the store had the same problem, including his. he told me it was a google problem and there was nothing he could do about it. i felt if i tried explaining how that would make it a verizon problem as well, it would be a losing battle

i have developed an app which just notify when location changed. it used GPS_PROVIDERS as provider. but as devices go inside of some building. it stop listening. i want to change the provider at that time to network provider.. so should i write locationManager.requestLocationUpdate method there in status change method of listener.with provider to network provider. or something else will do the task.
