So since the 2.1 OTA my weather widget will display the city, but no weather icon. if i sync it manually, it will show up. with 1.5 it would update every 3 hours, regardless if i had Background data on or off (i normally keep it off).
so now with 2.1 it wont sync unless i have BG data on, or do it manually. any way around this?

HTC Weather Widget always worked fine. Not sure when it quit but now it is stuck on New York (where I have never had the phone ...), wont display the current location, and wont update the temps.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure why, but the weather widget says that my city doesn't exist. I want to put it to Apple Valley, CA but nothing comes up. I checked the 3 nearest cities and they all did not exist either (Victorville, Hesperia, and Barstow). Can anyone else try adding the city to theirs and see if it pops up for them? I wonder if it's a bug with mine.

View 13 Replies View RelatedRecently, the weather part of the clock widget has not been displaying the right city. the city is very close to where i live though. it is currently showing "east san gabriel valley" but i actually live in "diamond bar". these are both little cities (very close to each ohter) in southern california. is this caused by the cell tower that the phone is connected to? if i enable wifi, the city does show diamond bar.

Then I moved to another town, and since few days the whether widget shows me city i bought the phone, and not the city I'm in. I tried having gps on, localization by wireless network on and so on, and it still does not update to correct city. What Can I do for it to work?

It keeps saying when i refresh weather info unavailable. IS anyone else having this problem? This just started happening yesterday morning prior to that i had no problems with it. The news portion is working fine.

I've tried different configurations of the HTC widget, and they don't update either. A friend of mine is having the same problem. If I click on the clock and load it, I can then click on the clock and it will load the weather screen, updated and all...but it still refuses to load it on the home screen with the time. Happened a few days after froyo update. How can I get the weather back as part of the clock widget??

Mine worked for a day and now I get the location but no weather update.
All other locations display all info fine.
Im in Australia on Vodafone - although from the previous mentioned thread seems to be software related rather than carrier location
Neone kno if by using the standard clock weather widget on home screen drains battery? Or does the weather only update over a period of time? Just wonderin if i should remove it for just a clock and use the weather channel.

It also used to update the weather every hour and show a sun in the day and a moon at night but now even at 12 at night it still shows the sun. I have beautiful widgets currently, but it doesn't show the full screen animations like she likes (windshield wipers if it is raining, bright sunlight when sunny, etc.).

Does anyone know where to get it. I had it before and thought it was in the market. I also did a search for the .apk you would think Google would put there products at the top of the page!

It force closes, thereby rendering it useless and freezing everything up. Anyone find any solutions yet? I really love that clock widget and want to keep it up there with updated weather, fix for force close problem on weather widget on 2.1!believe i just fixed thbis problem.goto applications, sort by name. goto "weather provider" and clear data.then, i added my widget again. i tapped it, but the clock came up instead of weather. on the desk clock, tap the area under the clock where the weather WOULD be. then you have to add a city. i just added trenton, because it's in NJ, and it wasn't picking up my GPS location yet..after adding that, a few seconds later it realized where i was via GPS, then bam, i refreshed and everything was fine and no more crashing!
