Does anyone use the city ID feature that came with your droid X? I like how it shows the city that the call is coming from.
It is free for I think the first 30 days. After which to keep using it you will need to pay 1.99 per month.
Anyone know of a free app that would do the same thing? 1.99 a month is pretty ridiculous for what it does.

I don't know how the whole app thing works.I hit market d/l play and delete if I don't like it. When I do this with windows a little bit of each program remains on my computer. Does the same thing happen with apps on my phone? Do I need to reformat my phone every now and then to clean it up like I do my computers?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to record a quick vid of my little girl and email it to her grandma from the phone. Problem is it records in 3GP and so far have not found an easy way to get her computer (3000 miles away) to play these files.
So I guess I am looking for 1 of 3 things.
1. Way to record in some thing else. (AVI, MP3/4 etc.)
2. Way to convert it simply on the phone to a compatible type.
3. A way to send a file to Grandma that is pretty much click here and run this app.
very minor issue, but still bugs me. when i boot up my droid, i see the red eye-thing, but no "droid" voice. any ideas?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded NBA League Pass Mobile because I am in Dayton, OH and Cavaliers games are rarely shown on Dayton's FSN. However, I've come to find out that this is a blackout area for League Pass. Does anyone know of a way to change the Droid's location so that League Pass thinks I am in a different city? I see there is a way on the iPhone, but I can't find anything for the Droid.

Anyway, she absolutely HATES that Motoblur green side-pulling tab thing for answering a phone call. She just can't seem to get the hang of it. Is there some way to change that, or is there an app available that will change the interface and just give her a simple button to push for answering a call?

I saw that there is a new WirelessTether app in my drawer. When I turn it on, it shows up as wifi on my ipod touch. Is this the same thing as a wifi hotspot?

View 11 Replies View RelatedVery odd, but on Saturday, my phone game me the "almost out of space" icon on the top of the screen. I checked which apps were hogging the most space, and Contacts Storage was number one at 27 megabytes, twice the amount that it typically sits at.
So I turned of all of my syncs, deleted my contacts, and went back into my syncs to enable them all again, but then I noticed that Facebook was listed twice. I'm assuming this was because of the new Facebook update.
Did this happen to anyone else? Any theories?

View 4 Replies View RelatedFound a few threads about people having problems transferring their phonebook to their hands free kit in their automobile. Had the same problem myself - was able to connect and pair with the car kit. I was able to make and receive calls, but didn't have the phonebook.
Then yesterday, while setting in the car, I was going to re-pair the connection between the phone and car I noticed that in the Notification Bar that the car was asking permission to receive the phonebook from the phone. Opened the Notification and granted permission and clicked on always grant access (or something similar). Phonebook was then transfered. Haven't had a problem with it since...

View 12 Replies View RelatedSimply Lockscreen - Android app on AppBrain.I really like this new FREE screen locker replacement. There is no lag when unlocking anymore! You can also set your phone to vibrate directly from the lock screen now. Still could use some polish (larger clock?) but it hasn't been out that long. Hope the developer keeps working on it. Remember to disable the default screen locker or you'll have to unlock 2 every time. What do you guys think?

I know that if I turn my phone on it will connect to the network and start downloading email, texts, etc. Before I leave for canada I want to set up my phone so that when I turn it on up there, it won't try to get my e-mails. I also want to find away to stay in contact with my wife through the wifi. I do have google voice, so is there a way to use that to talk to her? The hotel does have wifi so I need to be able to turn off 1x, 3g, 2g, or whatever the phone uses to connect to the network but leave the wifi on. I would love some suggestions on how to keep in touch with my wife without getting charged for it. When I am in the hotel I will be using skype to talk to her through my laptop, but I wont be in the hotel during the day.
