I want to run the Undervolt version to save battery (Even tho I got a 1750) annnnd I was wondering if I had to delete Memory and Cache like when installing a Rom.

I rooted today (unrevoked 3 + forever) and I did a nandroid backup (thank god) and titanium backup. I tried to flash the undervolt (0.5) and overclocked (0.1, #1) hydra kernals on the phone but it gets stuck at the boot up screens. Am I doing something wrong? I put the zip on the root of my SD card and used Clockwork to flash the zip file. Should I just upload the HTC .32 kernal?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have 2.1 stock and I don't really want to clear everything for 2.2 (can I upgrade like an OTA to 2.2?) so I want to install a hydra kernal for better battery life. The 2.15 radio update wouldnt stick on my phone for some reason, and 0.5 or 1.0 hydra kernals won't work with 1.0 radio. Is there a hydra version that will?

Or do you have to install undervolt to do that? Also can you install both overvolt and undervolt at the same time? (not literally at the same time but have both kernals at once to get the most power and battery saving?)

More specifically the fact that the OTA brought 802.11N with it, yet the kernel has the option for it. Should I not use the Hydra with N? Just want to make sure having the OTA won't mess with any functionality of a custom kernel.

I tried installing all four but no luck, kept getting the same error.
last week i installed the leaked OTA and i really like it so i decided to stick with it. I have been debating for a while whether or not to root. Well today i finally took the plunge and had zero issues. Then i decided to install the 1.15 ghz OC Hydra Kernel and it is awesome, makes the phone really snappy. I havent seen any lag at all. Well the only issue i have found is my camera wont work. I open it and it is just a black screen. At first i do have my normal options, i can choose everything on the left slider and the zoom, flash buttons. Also i noticed the brightness gets turned up. But its like there is a lens cap on it. It does not display anything the lens is seeing. I tried rebooting and it still did the same thing. Is this possibly becuase i installed the leaked OTA first and the Kernel is not compatible? Has anyone else seen this?

Just wondering if underclocking my Incredible will save battery life during the day-I can't use my phone much at work-maybe when I go somewhere to pee or grab something to eat-that is about it. I wouldn't care about speed during the day..say if I underclock it to like 400 MHZ, would that save a lot of battery life? I would set it to normal once I was done with work.

Personally, I forget to turn my WiFi off immediately most of the time when I leave the house and may remember later. The screen just goes black momentarily, then I'm back at my home screen. It's happening on all browsers, so it's not an application issue. I've never had this issue before, and I recently installed Hydra Kernel #3 (UV/OV 1.15 w/ N). Is this something other people are experiencing in conjunction with a hydra kernel? View 7 Replies View Relatedlast night I got tired of waiting for the 2.2 update so I installed unrevoked forever, 2.15 radio and the third wave rom from adrenyline. After all that went smoothly I decided to throw the standard clock undervolt hydra kernel in there too. After I did that I got sporadic reboots and the screen became very unresponsive. Also it seems to cause the phone to freeze whenever it has to wake up to play a notification sound or alarm...
Now I have to say that I had the same problem about a month ago when I tried one of the older Hydra Kernels, but I figured it would be fixed with the newer ones. My question is it seems that I am the only one with problems, all the posts I read about these things are positive with little or no issues. Am I installing it incorrectly somehow? Is anyone else having issues too?
I just bought the full version of this app. I tested it by downloading an excel sheet from an email. But there is no option to save, and it doesn't appear that you can edit it. Is this just a viewer?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a note 3 mediatek device (mtk6582) and when i play games or just using it for more than 30-40 min. It gets really hot, i mean really hott..{90c}....(especially when i'm playing games). And I think it may be beacause of GPU (mali 400) but I cant find a way to undervolt it... I think I must have custom kernel to do that...so any other method to undervolt the gpu.
But I also think that it could be the battery that is not the best quality...and if the battery is not that good can this heat up the cpu. (or generally the motherboard).
Ok I'll admit it I've been watching Engadget's live blog of the iPhone 4 debut. Something interesting stuck out at me however. In one of the keynote slides, Jobs pointed out the iPhone actually gets better battery life while on WiFi vs 3G. Normally I switch WiFi off when I'm not using data, syncing will still access 3G when I'm at home and I'll do occasional browsing at home as well. Would I be better off accessing data using WiFi when available rather than 3G? I guess a better way to pose the question is, does the 3G radio use more power then WiFi?

I'm having to charge twice a day, if not three times a day as I'm canning the hell out of it!) But now as my usage starts to drop, what's the best way to conserve the batttery with quick touches when its not being used? I press and hold the power switch and then select to turn off internet. Does this also prevent stuff going on in the background like sync auto update etc. ? I'm seeing roughly 30 to 40 percent battery being used by the Android system, and about 20 to 30 percent being used by cell standby. There's various settings and ways to stop internet I've found, but is there a way to nip all that energy zapping stuff quickly when the phones not being used, and then activate it again quickly when you wanna have a play. Us there anyway to get those percentages for the Android system down?
