I have 2.1 stock and I don't really want to clear everything for 2.2 (can I upgrade like an OTA to 2.2?) so I want to install a hydra kernal for better battery life. The 2.15 radio update wouldnt stick on my phone for some reason, and 0.5 or 1.0 hydra kernals won't work with 1.0 radio. Is there a hydra version that will?

I have not really noticed any real improvement in battery life using the undervolted hydra kernel. Am I doing something wrong, or has anybody else noticed this?

View 29 Replies View RelatedI am getting some serious battery drain with Fresh 3.2 and netarchy-toastmod 4.1.9.1 cfs ( i have also used the stable 4.1.8) and I am getting serious drain. Here is a screen shot from today. Unplugged phone around 7:30 and by the time I took the screen cap at 8:30 i was down 25%!! I used the phone to RDP to my house for maybe 3 mins (using pocket cloud app).I also played 1 youtube clip ( katy perry on sesame street XD~~ 1.:30 mins long) Thats all I have done so far. Do you guys think I should try a different combination? I pretty much have everything turned off on the phone. No GPS, sync i think every 4 hours. Using launcher pro, and beautiful widgets.

Alright, I installed JagerRom 3.2 and I love it. Only problem I have is that there is no gmail app and I don't like the k-9 mail app. Is there any way to get the gmail app back Also, with a custom rom can I still install a hydra kernel? because the undervolted kernel would be nice to install.

Or do you have to install undervolt to do that? Also can you install both overvolt and undervolt at the same time? (not literally at the same time but have both kernals at once to get the most power and battery saving?)

My battery life was bad, but it was OK, but in the past few days my battery life is 10% per 30minutes(Just over 5 hours on a charge).I used to get 8-10 hours on a charge.I noticed last week that while it was charging the status of the battery was "Overheat".I think I somehow cooked the battery?I use TaskKiller and kill 95% of apps automatically, I have bluetooth,wireless,GPS disabled and the screen dimmed.I have not changed or installed any new apps.I have not changed the way I use the phone at all.My battery was dead, 0%, and it charged to 95% in about 45 minutes.Is this even possible?In fact in the past two days I have not gotten the charge above 95% at all.

I just ordered the seidio battery for my phone (3500). the battery widget i downloaded is telling me 92% left on battery, and the little icon in the task bar is showing completely full.
Are the widgets pretty accurate with what they display as to what's really left on the battery?
also, when I first got this battery, I put it on the external charger for 12 hours(tuesday night). what else do i need to do to ensure it's going to fully charge while charging IN my phone? This morning this is what I did: charged til all the way green, turned phone off, charging light turned back orange so i waited until it was green again, booted into recovery using clockwork, and then wiped battery stats. this only being my second charge, i know it can take up to 5 or 6 charges to reach battery's full potential, but i have unplugged it and not really used it since 7:30am. my battery widget is telling me I only have 90% left (dropped 2% already while posting this). that seems like it drained that first 10% really quickly. also, i have made another thread about my phone being awake 100% of the time, so I am sure this is contributing to it.

I'm using HTC Sense as my launcher.
I am using multicon so i can utilize more of my homescreen with more apps. Other than that, not using any other widgets besides the weather widget.
I can't figure out what's keeping my phone awake. how do I ensure that my battery is going to get a FULL charge while IN my phone.
Trouble updating PRI
I can't get wireless tether to work. (a whole other issue)
I get about 4 to 6 hours. Moderate use.

I got about 4.5 hours running my stock battery down to 25% or so and I'm now at about 6.5 hours running the 1750 down to 27%. When people talk about measuring battery life are they talking about 100%-0% or are they just talking about just 100%-20% or so. This is really the only usable battery range because the radio turns off somewhere under the 20% point. I'm also thinking that my Seidio battery isn't working properly. It was kind of bent out of shape when I got it and felt pretty filmsy. I decided to give it a try but now I'm kind of thinking about returning it in the hopes of getting better life out of a new one.So two questions here what range are you all measuring your battery life through? and any chance that Il' get more life out of a new battery?

I got the OTA yesterday afternoon and I've noticed HORRIBLE battery life. For example, I usually get online at about 3:00 every day. I got the OTA at like 3:30 or so, and my battery life was at 55-60%.
Today, same time, my battery life is at 31%. Have you noticed any difference in your battery life after installing Froyo?
Based on this thread in another forum (2.1 users what is your Time without a signal %" [Archive] - xda-developers) I did both the Airplane trick and the following:
The problem is a bug in a lot of 2.1 roms out there now.
There is a fix:
1) Go to dialer, put in *#*#4636#*#*
2) Press Phone Information
3) Press Menu, and pick Select Radio Band (ITS NORMAL TO GET A FORCE CLOSE)
4) Go down and change GSM Auto(PRL) to CDMA Auto (PRL)
Both made my Juice Plotter (JD) increase in battery time left.
