I have a rooted Stock 2.1 Dinc. Went to use the hydra kernel #1 and it put me into a boot loop. I am restoring my phone from backup so not a big deal but does anyone know why this may have occurred? I don't really need the overclock just thought I'd try it.

how to root my phone but i had just installed the AIM app and got an instant message so i swipped down to unlock the screen and kept getting these error messages that all apps were force close and space full on both phone and SD card (i had previously gotten space full on the phone but i must have uninstalled about 8 sound board apps and the message stayed) then the phone went very slowly and the force close messages would not stop so i guess i did the stupid thing and held the power button and found it odd that the only option was power off so i shut it down and attempted to turn it back on and it showed the white screen with the HTC incredible and then the HTC brilliant and then the Verizon tsunami screen or splash or whatever it is but it kept repeating that cycle over and over again (note this was not from an attempted root) i can put it into recovery mode and i was wondering what i can do from the recovery screen and if i can root it from the recovery screen. I'm sorry but i have no idea on how to root but if someone could help it would be much appreciated. and thank you for reading my long winded post but i wanted to be as detailed as possible.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know this topic has been discussed at length, but in weeks of searching, I can't seem to find any help with my particular problem. I've had my phone since July with no issues whatsoever. It's never been rooted. I got the Froyo update with no issues. I hadn't installed any new apps, just updated the ones I had as normal. Now, after a few minutes of use of basically any program, the phone reboots itself and gets stuck in a boot loop. I've done factory resets, and the phone is now completely stock - the only "extra" thing is my email accounts through Google. I got stuck in a loop last night, powered the phone off through HBoot and let it charge overnight. When I got up this morning, unplugged it, powered it on, within a few minutes, it's rebooting again. It seems if it was a hardware issue, it would've come up before now. I should also mention this happens with our without SD card, after formatting the SD card on the phone and the computer. I hate to say this, but I'm kind of missing the days of BB where I could wipe the OS and start with a clean slate. It almost seems like something in my OS is corrupt, but I haven't messed with that side of the INC to know how to fix it. I just noticed this morning that my signal shows no bars, but I'm able to make calls, texts, etc. Also, it hasn't (knock on wood) rebooted during a phone call, but will immediately after hanging up.

More specifically the fact that the OTA brought 802.11N with it, yet the kernel has the option for it. Should I not use the Hydra with N? Just want to make sure having the OTA won't mess with any functionality of a custom kernel.

last week i installed the leaked OTA and i really like it so i decided to stick with it. I have been debating for a while whether or not to root. Well today i finally took the plunge and had zero issues. Then i decided to install the 1.15 ghz OC Hydra Kernel and it is awesome, makes the phone really snappy. I havent seen any lag at all. Well the only issue i have found is my camera wont work. I open it and it is just a black screen. At first i do have my normal options, i can choose everything on the left slider and the zoom, flash buttons. Also i noticed the brightness gets turned up. But its like there is a lens cap on it. It does not display anything the lens is seeing. I tried rebooting and it still did the same thing. Is this possibly becuase i installed the leaked OTA first and the Kernel is not compatible? Has anyone else seen this?

So here is a description of my current issue. My battery died a few nights ago, and I got stuck in a do loop where the device keeps rebooting but never gets to the navigation screen. The screens I see are:
* HTC Evo intro screen
* Sprint
* 4g with welcome tone
Followed by repeat of Sprint then 4g again and again............
I recently just rooted my evo 3d sprint with the the boot 1.5 and everything went well. I decided i wanted to overclock my phone so i followed zeemaxs way. Before going into the overclock procedure i decided to do the the RCMIX Evo 3d kernel v. 2.2.3 first so i would have better results when done with the overclock procedure.I boot-up the kernel through the recovery mode on the phone butit failed to load so i just rebooted. After that my wifi and 4g stopped working. So i downloaded an app on the market called "flash image GUI" which lets me flash the kernels through the app. I flashed the RCMIX kernel and rebooted and now im stuck ima boot loop. I COULD just go back and back up to my old rom and settings etc but the problem is i dintmake any kind of back up or recovery i think.

Or do you have to install undervolt to do that? Also can you install both overvolt and undervolt at the same time? I've taken the battery out multiple times, but it does the same thing. The animation starts up then freezes after ~3 seconds, then the animation starts again and it just repeats. Installed it and turned on my phone and now I get stuck with in a boot loop. re-installing my old card and it boots ok. so I figured I could make a new nandroid back up and just restore it. where do nandroid backups get stored on the sd card? I have a nandriod folder but it doesn't seem to contain the one I just made. I'm running the latest fresh 3.2

Tablet hangs in Bootloop after installed cm9_nightly_20120721 + protab2xxl_compatibility_1.2.0 startet from cwm 6.0.1.0. Noticed that the "/data" partition only has 15MB of Space with 0B Byte free.
