When the phone is on vibrate and I receive a text there is no notification, no vibration or indicator light. Samsung says there is no fix for this. Is there an app I can download?

I left my daughter sitting at school for 30mins the other night since I didn't see the message until I hung up from my voice call! If I can't find a way to have this feature I might have to switch to the X!

View 2 Replies View RelatedSomehow my vibrations have all gone away. I made sure the vibration effect is set to normal, which it is. It must have been an app I installed that disabled it. Currently using Open Home with Hero skin, weather widgets, and Swype keyboard. Anyone have this issue or is something I can easily fix in the settings?
View 10 Replies View RelatedAll I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
when i am talking to a friend, i do get call waiting alerts,however when i recieve a new text there is no sound or vibration, even though the phone will be on either vibration or normal mode. i couldnt find any apps to solve this either.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I went to the beach with friends this weekend and had my phone in a ziploc bag along with other items. Well, it seems that one of my friends went into the bag to get something and had their hands completely wet. About one hour later I went to check the time on the phone and there was about two inches of water in it. I immediately removed the battery, SIM card and sd card and left it out to dry.
Got home some time later and did the rice trick and left it there for the entire weekend (just switched its position every 8 hours). Tried to turn it on this morning and it powers up, makes sounds and vibrates but the screen doesn't come on. If I touch the screen in some spots I still get vibration feedback and sounds but nothing else.
I have a couple of questions about notifications on the Captivate.
1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.
I was in a meeting and set the phone to vibration mode via the notification panel. I noticed that the phone will only vibrate if a call comes in, but not SMS. Is this correct? Cause in my previous phone, so long as I am in vibration mode, every event (call, SMS, reminder, email etc) will cause the phone to vibrate.

Not only is this unpleasant when I have the phone to my ear, but it's also an annoyance to the person I'm talking to as they hear the vibrate sounds. In fact any time I'm talking to my girlfriend and my phone vibrates, she asks "who is texting you now?" I really just want the notification turned off while I'm on a call. Is there a way to prevent this from happening while on the phone?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the HTC Incredible and one of the things I haven't been able to figure out is how to set incoming phone calls to vibrate, yet play the notification sound. None of the profiles seems to make that combination happen. If I switch it to silent, no sound or vibrations happen for calls or notifications. In the vibrate profile, both calls and notifications only vibrate. In normal mode, I can't get calls to vibrate only. If I slide the call ringer volume all the way down and slide notification volume up, it switches it to silent mode. If I have call ringer volume up one notch from silent, it still plays the ringtone. Is this something I can accomplish or do I have to have silent calls only if I still want notifications played?

View 48 Replies View Relatedso i have the samsung behold 2 and i need a bit of help. im using chompsms instead of the basic messaging & whenever i receive an sms, two notifications go off. one from the basic messaging and one from chompsms app. i've looked thru my phone for hours trying to figure out how to turn of the basic messaging notification icon but i couldn't find it. can someone please help because it's getting so annoying and i want the basic messaging notification icon to go away & just have the chompsms notification.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHad a behold II about two weeks and love the phone only one problem, every so often it gives me a notification (makes same noise as a text) saying preparing external SD card. The phone isn't plugged into anything and has no other problems it used to only happen a couple times a day now it is happening every 3-4 minutes and is getting pretty annoying. I looked through the options and can't find a way to make it stop giving me the notification noise for this. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make this stop its getting aggravating.

Well I'm having the same problem with my new B2...The phone is disconnecting and connecting on its own consistantly. And it keeps sending me notifications. I've tried 3 different SD cards all with the same result. Eventually it will erase all card data and tell me the card is damaged. Anyone else with this problem? Should I go with the G1 or Mytouch?

I can turn on "also vibrate" and it works, but when I am in normal mode it rings AND vibrates. Any way to make it work they way I want it?

I just assumed that it wasn't a feature with 1.5
Usually I just go to market and check my downloads to see what updates have come in. I wonder if this could be a reason why I haven't received the bug fix.
I have the Motorola Droid and I would like to find a way to get my phone to vibrate when I get a new text message while I have the sounds off. I have my phone set to vibrate mode but it only vibrates when I get an incoming call. Verizon said this was normal but there might be an application to change alert settings and such.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen my phone is on vibrate, and i revieve a text, my phone lights up but it dosent vibrate and also, sometimes when i recieve a text it dosent go to the bottom of my text messaging list, it goes in the middle, so when i recieve a message, i have to look through all my messages to see which one i just recieved. i've noticed that the time stamp is incorrect on the messages sometimes, which my be the reason.

I looked through all the other threads and they didn't help.
I've gone through the sms settings and turned vibration "on"
I even have it in vibrate mode. that didn't work.
regular mode. didn't work.
I fixed it just in case anyone else runs into this problem:
Download "sound manager" open the app, click your "menu" button and click "vibrate options"
You'll see that vibration notifications are turned off.
