I recently updated my S3 to run Jelly Bean 4.3, and now when I receive a text it both vibrates and plays the notification sound rather than just the notification sound as it used to. I can't seem to find a way to turn this off?

Outlook has stopped syncing now (don't recieve emails, set as "push") when on wifi at home.
I have to go into the mail app and manually sync to get them.
It's been working fine until yesterday.
Still works when not on wifi.
Anything I did, or just Outlook itself taking a walk on the wild side like it seems to often.
I like the notifications of my emails, but not the fact that it shows the email body and subject. Is there a way to only show that there is a new email but not what or who? I have an app locking gmail to keep emails secure but people can still read them from notification tab.

How to get it to believe I want to use a different sound?
My Galaxy II makes a short dry sound each morning at 08:00 CET. No alarm is active, no calendar event is present. This started with the update to 4.1.2.

The songs show up and are listed correctly. I can hit play but I get no sound. All other sounds on my phone work fine.

Whenever I'm making an outgoing call there is a call connected vibration when the call is picked up by the other side, the feature is nice, but the problem is that the person I'm calling is able to hear this vibration in their phone. Is there a way to disable this vibration, or delay the microphone initiation?
I already tried changing all the sound and vibration settings in the phone without any success.

I want this feature of course while I am NOT on a call, but while on a call people on the other end of the call have described it as a duck being murdered. The pause between the vibration buzz seems a bit random and I have experienced it pausing for up to like 10 seconds before a sound plays. It works great, and I've got face unlock working... mostly.I'm trying to train it, by going into Settings->Security->Improve Face Matching periodically, but it still only recognizes my face about half the time.
Often, the lighting is bad - maybe it's too dark, or I'm backlit so my face is turned into a silhouette - there's not much to be done there, but often, there are borderline situations, where the camera shows what I think is a recognizable picture of myself on the screen, but the phone says "Sorry, I don't recognize you."
Does retraining the phone often enough eventually get the facial recognition system to work better? Or is it always going to fail here and there if the lighting's off?Or are there any hidden tips based on whatever algorithms the face-unlocker uses, that would improve my results?
when i am talking to a friend, i do get call waiting alerts,however when i recieve a new text there is no sound or vibration, even though the phone will be on either vibration or normal mode. i couldnt find any apps to solve this either.

Originally when I got the phone Google Talk played a sound every time i got a new message regardless if it was from a new person or someone i was already having a conversation with...I then turned on the vibrate option as well and ever since I did that the notifications even with a new message from a new conversation wont play or vibrate...any suggestions? Its even a bigger problem when my phone is plugged in b/c then I cant see the led flashing when i get a new message.

I have a Nexus S on Jelly Bean running and a few days ago I came across the Sound Search app in the widgets list and absolutely fell in love with it. When I restarted my phone after a day for some other reason, I realised that my Sound Search app wasn't there on the home screen anymore and was neither in the widget list.
I tried to download an apk but it just says that this file already exists, so I'm not sure what to do!!
I recently got the new Nexus 7 running 4.3 and wondering if there's a way to block ads without rooting (I mean ads from webpages while using your browser). I had rooted my phone a long time ago and remember there was a great adblock that did the job perfectly. But I don't want to root the Nexus 7.
On my laptop computer, I use AdBlock as an extension the the Chrome browser. But extensions don't exist on the Chrome Android version (at least not that I'm aware of).
I did fine an ad blocker (forgot the name) that used a proxy, but it was a pain as you had to manually add the proxy to every wifi connection and it also wrecked havock on some websites (e.g. couldn't log into e-bay).
These ads really slow down web surfing, specially when your browser is in "Desktop" user agent mode.
Any app ideas on a pop up/quick reply option for someone using hangouts as default messaging app, until they add hopefully add one in?
Currently trying sms pop up notifier, but with it I get 2 copies of every sms.
