I have unlocked HTC Desire updated to froyo. The problem is when i used the dialpad to call, the phone vibrates. I have switched off the vibrate in text settings and also un-checked the haptic feedback but still it vibrates. Is there any method of switching it off or not?

Android doesn't seem to recognize when I am on the phone. While on a call, it still vibrates when I get a text or e-mail. It is loud and annoying. When not on vibrate, it still plays the message received tone, and it is loud too. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I want this feature of course while I am NOT on a call, but while on a call people on the other end of the call have described it as a duck being murdered. When the phone in vibrate mode I use the following code to stop the phone vibration:
Vibrator vib = (Vibrator) context.getSystemService(Context.VIBRATOR_SERVICE);
vib.cancel();
While it worked on my Nexus One with android 2.1, it seems that it doesn't stop the vibration on an HTC Desire handset with android 2.1.
Have someone encountered this issue?
I recently updated my S3 to run Jelly Bean 4.3, and now when I receive a text it both vibrates and plays the notification sound rather than just the notification sound as it used to. I can't seem to find a way to turn this off?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis in regards to its vibration function. due to the rather soft tone of its sound (to me at least) sometimes when my phone is ringing from a message, i tend to NOT notice that a message comes in. so i use vibration , but the thing with hand cent vibration is the vibration is a one time thing only. a message comes in, it vibrates once, and thats it.. but the ring tone goes on and on.. fiddling with the vibration settings in hand cent did not help. what i want to do is make my desire vibrate a lot more times than just
once.. is this possible?
All was well until I reset my Desire because of the googl email -> gmail change, now I don't get any vibration from email or SMS, etc dispite all the settings being correct for vibration, ie the main settings menu, gmail and SMS setting. Is there a cure for this problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know of a "patch" or indeed an ADB shell command that will enable me to disable the pointless (to me anyway) vibration on startup and shutdown. I am rooted with S-ON running stock Froyo with a "few little" mods applied such as rosie drag n drop and trackpad wake. Please don't suggest I install a full custom ROM as I dont want to do this just to get vibrate off. It seems like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Surely if I can issue a command in ADB shell to disable startup sound (which I have successfully done) then there is a command to disable startup and shutdown vibrate??? Logically that must be the case? There must be somewhere in the startup/shutdown code that tells the phone to vibrate. I would be very,very,very,very grateful if anyone can point me towards a solution other than a full custom ROM install. For now I want to carry on running stock Froyo with my little tweaks. I am looking for a "tweak" such as a zip file or shell command.
My main problems were: Over Heating. It gets hot very fast, even if I don't use it very much. Battery: It lasted for max 12hours, with some internet, sms and etc. Vibration: It was not vibrating for some time. Because I live in Lithuania, they will send it to Latvia to check If it works good, if not my carrier will change the phone (So all of these problems would be real, then everyone who has them, should go to their shops and etc. to get their phones changed)

Not a real pressing need for me to look at the little green Android guy either.Instead, that action usually means I need to press a series of numbers for an automated call service. My dialer has a small button in the lower left corner that will bring up the dialpad but I would prefer it be up front and center by default. It's a small thing but if there's something out there to make it happen, I'd be interested.

Is there a way to automatically make the dial pad pop up instead of the search? If I want to search for a phone number I'll go into the internet. When I click on the phone icon I want the dialpad to be there. If there isn't a way to fix this then I might not upgrade my phone when the time comes to upgrade.

I got Android Kitkat update for Moto G this Friday, here at India .. Update went smooth and looks good. But now the phone dialpad does not load at all the first time I touch the dialpad icon (it brings up a small white panel layout). Pressing the dialpad again second time loads up the new cool dialpad introduced in 4.4.2 kitkat update.

1)Dialpad layout on dialing screen is not working
2)the symbol for internet H+ or E is showing but the problem is that it doesn't show that data is enable and able to transfer data.
When I use the dial pad the tones are short but when I call to my voicmail then bring up dial pad the tones on the dial pad (the numbers) are long. How do I fix this and make them like the normal short dial pad?

The default one that you get with the phone i.e. If I don't turn it off then it will keep ringing indefinately. According to me, a normal alarm clock would ring for about a minute before putting itself on snooze. Sometimes the alarm won't stop ringing after I turn it off either, so then I'll have to turn off the phone.

So first time what I did was make a factory reset and everything was back to normal,and that was beforo Froyo, now when I am running Froyo, I wonder when I make a factory reset does it turns me all the way back to the stock desire, without new software version and Froyo update?
