Sprint HTC Hero :: Why Are There 15 Apps Running When I Didn't Open Them?
Dec 3, 2009Using Task Killer and it closes all the apps works most of the time. I check TK every few often and there are tons of apps running, like settings, music, myspace, etc even though I never opened them. Is this the norm or why doesn't Android handle the phone management more smoothly.

May 4, 2010How do I jump between running/open apps? Yesterday I was playing spades and chatting with a friend on google talk. It was terrible. I could not jump between the game and the chat. I had to hit home button, then menu then Google talk, to go back to spades I could hold the down home button and jump back to spades from the popup window. I could not do this with google talk from spades because google talk was not in the recently opened apps popup window.

Mar 26, 2010Like the title says. My TWLauncher crashed while I was running open home today, and the Behold sped up. Is TW always running behind it? if so, how can I get rid of it? I'm a newbie, don't even know what rooting is, so be nice please.

Nov 14, 2010how the memory works on my orginial motorola droid (2.2). When I open the running services tab I see this on the bottom:
Other: 54MB in 3 Avail:19MB+45MB in 7
I'm wondering if someone can explain what this means. I assume this is all coming out of the 256MB of Ram the droid has? I was also installing app's and got a memory low warning aftering firefox beta that was 14MB in size. I gather that almost all the apps do not support installing to the SD card yet if ever. So of like the 100 apps I have installed is it likley that they are all taking up room of the RAM of the 256MB? I'm also wondering if there is a good app that shows you how much of your RAM is full with apps, so you know when you need to uninstall some etc. Like you are using 200MB out of 256MB or whatever.

Jun 17, 2010Like, I have Advance task killer and all but when I end the programs when I turn the phone on, why do some just start up again? For ex: When I'm done with Pandora and go to ATK, Mixing and Doubletab are apparently running. Why does that happen?

Jun 23, 2010does it slow down your phone at all? my friend has a moto droid and he has it and it has horrible lag what ever you do on his phone (of course i get on his case for that because he says the droid is better then the DINC but that a different story). and my other question is can you use a skin and an icon pack at the same time using open home?

Jun 1, 2010When I start the gmail app I would like it to ALWAYS go to the Inbox. Instead it starts with some old message displayed and I have to tap menu - Back to Inbox so I can see new messages. And it's not like it's opening the last message that I was reading either - it's some older message pretty far down in the Inbox.Is there any way to force it to ALWAYS go to the Inbox when I start the app?

May 7, 2010When I go down through my contacts, or my favorites and they have the green circle with a number to show updates, I open them up, go to the updates portion and if it says update no Facebook page, I select it. Problem is, it goes to Face book's mobile page and not the app, which is how I would like it. Has anyone else experienced this, know of a work-around/solution? I did a brief search and didn't really see anything.

One problem I've run into is that Quick Office will not open an Excel spreadsheet. I originally had it saved as an xlsx file with a password and I got an error msg when trying to view it with Quick Office.
So, I removed the password, tried it again - still no luck. Tried back saving it to an xls file...it tries to open, but all I get is a dark screen (w/out any error msgs)....

May 3, 2010I use outlook 2003 for my email. If outlook is closed on my computer, I get all of my email to my phone. If outlook is open on my computer, I do not get my emails on my phone. Does anyone know how to fix this so I can always get my emails whether outlook is open or not? I think when my local computer receives an email, it removes it from my ISP server. I don't know if this makes any difference or not.

May 24, 2010When I open the Messages app and begin to type, it will close and reopen and return me to the first menu in the app. I've tried going into managing apps and clearing the cache.
Also tried deleting everything in my inbox and drafts.
Also, when I look for Messages in my Task Manager app, it doesnt show up unless I keep the app open and open the task manager from the notification bar. I made sure my Task Manager doesnt autokill the app or anything...
HTC Incredible :: 6-8 Second Messaging Delay To Open?
May 4, 2010Does anyone also have this issue. When I turn the phone on, tap the messaging button, and then tap on a text message conversation that I want to see and reply to, there is a 6-8 second delay in for it to open. The screen goes dim and it says loading. Anyone else have this issue?

Jun 10, 2010Decided to give it a try after hearing rave reviews from many. Downloaded Launcher Pro from the market today and it installed but won't open. There's no icon in my app list for it either. I can find it by going to Settings > Apps > Manage Apps but the only option there is to uninstall.
Rebooted and on the homescreen I had an option to use Sense or Launcher Pro so I chose Launcher Pro. The bottom dock was there but some of my previous icons were still on the homepage and I couldn't hold/drag them off the screen? Also, still nowhere to interface the program for options. Am I missing something obvious or what the heck?
HTC Incredible : Not Getting Emails - Refresh Itself When Open
Jul 26, 2010I have gmail and my exchange email from work set up on my phone and noticed that i do not get any email to my phone. The only time i know when mail arrives it when i open the email and it refreshes itself. I have the phone set up to check mail every 5 minutes with notification on. Anyone have any idea whats going on? I hate having to check for mail manually.

Sep 8, 2010after my update i noticed programs opening in the background all the time. between this, the choppy everything, and pandora never closing, i decided to do the hard reset. after that, i just had to reinstall apps. now its smooth and faster than ever. so, the issue ATK still shows apps open that were not open before. i kill them and check in 20 and sometimes things like Skype and pandora are open but i never started the app. i am thinking that the ATK isnt working. to even push this idea more, now when i surf the net, i close it with the ATK. it says its closed but when i open the internet again, its on the same page i left it on. why not my home page as before. i did set my home page.

Oct 6, 2010running Skyraider Sense 3.2 RC3 ... wanted to go back to my stock nandroid backup so I went to boot into Clockwork Recovery via ROM Manager ... it restarted, went to the splash screen ... then just hung up there for a while. Battery pulled, then booted into HBOOT and tried opening recovery from there. Still hangs at the splash screen. Ended up flashing an older version of CW Recovery and that seems to be working fine. Just thought this was odd and was wondering if anyone else had this problem?
