HTC Incredible :: Does Any One Use Open Home?
Jun 23, 2010
does it slow down your phone at all? my friend has a moto droid and he has it and it has horrible lag what ever you do on his phone (of course i get on his case for that because he says the droid is better then the DINC but that a different story). and my other question is can you use a skin and an icon pack at the same time using open home?

Ive had open home downloaded for over a month and i only used it for a short period of time before switching back to the default homepage setting. Now, because of the new features added to Open Home i want to switch back, and every time i open 'Open Home' it only opens until i hit the home key. Then it does not ask me what i want to use as my default as it used to. I went to settings>applications>manage applications>open home to clear all defaults but it is not highlighted for me to select it. How can i set Open Home to my default again?

According to a press release from Google, Sweden is getting paid apps within the next two weeks (finally!). I was looking through what I'm going to be able to get, and I started thinking about a home replacement app. So which one should I get? Ahome or Open home? And while I'm on the subject, are there any other paid apps that I should get?

What is "Open Home" or "Ahome"? I keep seeing a lot of themes/fonts that require open home, but I'm not sure what it is or how to get it. I was able to find the ahome app once and it said the price was $3.99, but now I'm not able to find it even on a search.

I'm new to Android and smart phones and so I'm trying to figure it out. First of all I have an unrooted HTC Aria. I would like to customize my phone. I downloaded LauncherPro from the market but I've heard of another app called Open Home. Are they similar apps? For instance, does one need both on their phone or just one or the other? From what I can tell Open Home allows for much more customization?

I have Open Home on my HTC Hero However I cannot set it to be my 'default desktop', so when I click home, it doesnt take me to my personalised Open Home, it takes me instead to the phones standard 'Home Desktop'. So each time I want to use Open Home I have to launch Open Home from the menu!

Just curious for an opinion or two I've been tempted to download Open Home from Better Android because of all their cool icons, skins, and other things. At the same time, I see comments about it slowing down the phone significantly or causing all sorts of forced closes, etc.Are most people using and liking Better Android apps? I've got an HTC Dream, so I'm on the old operating system. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I have had open home (full version) for a few weeks now and I'm very pleased with it so far. The last couple of days I have been rearranging my folders and widgets and some of the open home settings.I also changed my background but when I chose the picture I wanted I only got the option of cropping in portrait. Now the background doesn't move from side to side when I change screens.I am assuming it's a setting I changed when I was playing around but I can't find any way of changing it back to the original landscape background that moves from side to side.

This afternoon, I wiped my phone and am starting from scratch. Lock 2.0 was giving me some issues and with all the installing and uninstalling of app's I've been doing in the past couple of weeks, I just decided to start with a fresh slate.
Before I back and download Lock 2.0 again, I wanted to inquire with others out there on their experience with the App. I love it, but I wasn't sure if I didn't set it up correctly or I didn't understand how the app worked because it never did replace the default lock screen after I installed and configured it. I always had to manually launch it, unlock the screen and then it would take over.
Not exactly what I had in mind for my money. Was thinking it was a full replacement for the default lock screen. Maybe I didn't read the fine print well enough.
Also, what's been the experience with Open Home on the Sprint Hero?
I'll come clean and admit I'm a Mac super-user stuck without an iPhone (I love Sprint!!). I carry my iPod touch and my Hero with me pretty much everywhere. I am LOVING my Hero though! It does exactly what I wanted it to.
I like to get in and customize to the nth degree, but not at the expense of crappy app's that mess up my stuff.

I am about to get my Hero back and was wondering if Open Home & Sense UI played nice together? Will I get to use Open Home & HTC Widgets? I have been using it on my Moment, but not sure if I even need it with my hero, just want to be able to use different icons & skins. Would I be better with Pandahome or DX?

I saw on someone's review of an Open Home icon pack that the icons looked good in Launcher Pro.
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to make them work -- I can't figure out how.

A few days ago my Sony Xperia T (running Jelly Bean 4.2.1) started having a problem - when I select any app to open on my homescreen they are completely unresponsive, the touch registers on the screen but all of them refuse to open. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of to fix the problem, first I turned the device on and off for a punt, which didnt work. Then I went through all my apps to make sure there was nothing out of the ordinary on my device and as far I can tell there isnt. I next installed a task manager app to kill all processes, again this did nothing. I then installed a virus scanner to scan all the files on my phone but nothing was found. I then decided to clear all of the devices files by restoring it, this fixed the problem for about 10 minutes before the problem returned. I then re-installed Jelly Bean 4.2.1 on my device, which again fixed the problem only temporarily. when using the device to do anything else the touch screen is completely responsive, so I have no clue why all my apps just refuse to open.

When I open up messaging on my home screen, it's pretty slow and choppy. I have about 10 threads open with about 3,000 txts total. I delete most pictures and animations I receive, to save memory, but I like to keep my text txts. It's slow when I scroll down through my threads, and it takes a second or two to open up a thread, regardless if it has 10 txts in it, or 2,000. Anyone else have this problem? I should add that it did not improve after the update. I wonder if I'm low on memory overall, but I have 87M free according to my advanced task killer app. I get what seems to be a glitch too, when I get a text message and it appears at the status bar at the top, sometimes it shows the same text three or four times, at random intervals. Sometimes it just shows it once, like it should?

Like the title says. My TWLauncher crashed while I was running open home today, and the Behold sped up. Is TW always running behind it? if so, how can I get rid of it? I'm a newbie, don't even know what rooting is, so be nice please.

My girlfriend and I both got Droid 2's on launch day and she has been having an issue today that she called me to complain about but I haven't seen it happen yet myself. I am hoping someone can help with my description of it, if not I will come back later with a more thorough description. Basically what she said is happening is randomly every time she tries to unlock the phone to read a text message or something a notification pops up and says something like you are connecting to the home/multimedia dock and then the dock pulls up. She closes it and then it wants to open itself up again. Has anyone else had this happen and know what causes it or how to fix it?

Two things I'd like to be able to do with my incredible.First is reduce the number of homescreens. Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.
