I have an email in my Yahoo account that was not even sent to my Yahoo email address that will not open or delete. When I click on that email (to try to open it or delete it), the email program crashes and says this:The application Mail (processcom.htc.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Does anybody know how to set your messages up to auto delete after a set amount?I have over 400 on one thread after a day or two and it would be nice if there was an auto delete feature.Maybe an app? anybody know?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been enjoying my Incredible since launch.Today I got a "SoAndSo is now following you on Twitter" message, and I can't delete it.If I long-press the message in my inbox and select "Delete" from the menu, I get a "The Application Mail (process...) "Force Close" message and I have to restart mail.This error and behavior is repeatable.If I select "Menu -> Delete" from the in-box, the message dissappears, and is not available to "select" for deletion.If I try and just select the message to read it, the screen quickly flashes as though it were about to open the message, but immediately returns to the inbox screen.If I get a new message, I am able to delete it with no problem. It seems to be specific to only this message.

When I try to open in it does nothing, when I try and delete it it force closes the email program (I use the stock email program)I went to my email account on my PC and the email isn't even on the server!
Also my other account (also hotmail) has wiped out my entire inbox! luckily it's my old email account and I don't think I had anything important in it.I set my settings as follows a month or so ago.and havn't had any issues untill now.

How can I or is there a setting that turns off this auto open of the next email after I delete an email? If the top activity is an sms message (the user is texting) then I want to determine either the thread id of the open message or the contact name/ number, either will work! I am able to determine if a message is open by comparing the class name.unningTaskInfo.topActivity.getClassName().equals("com.android.mms.ui.ComposeMessageActivity") which returns true/false. When it is true I need to get the above information from this "compose message". Any ideas on how I can get this kind of information from an Android OS activity (an sms message)?

I know it can be done because the built-in notifications send you to a message when you click on them and there's an app on the market called Gmail Notifier which does it as well.
What I've tried so far:
-send an ACTION_VIEW intent with the message URI as data (failed - cannot resolve URI)
-send an intent to open HtmlConversationActivity in the Gmail package (failed - "requires permission: null")
Would it help to add flags or a category to the intent? If so, which one(s)?
I know that the Gmail app is not well-documented, but it drives me mad that there is definitely a way to do it and I just can't figure it out!
P.S.: This is the first time I'm posting on stackoverflow, so I apologise in advance if I have ignored any conventions.
I want to write an application to List the Gmail message. In the list, if user click one of the message item, it shall link out Gmail App to see more detail information. Currently I can read the Gmail db with Gmail.java. There are some problems while I want to open Gmail Activity. In general, we can open Activity with Action and parameters. But Gmail App has not release code base. We do not know what Action set to Gmail Activity and what parameter shall we put the extras. I only know that the Activity of View detail Message is named "HtmlConversationActivity." And the Package is under "com.google.android.gm.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy HTC is really slow! When I receive a new message it takes about 30seconds to even open it, then a further 30 or so to wait for the keyboard to respond. I have tried deleting the messages from my inbox and starting fresh, but am slightly cautious about just giving it a factory reset!
Also, when i am finished a phone call, as I take the phone away from my ear, it flashes on and off, meaning that I can't actually put the phone down! The only way to do it is to take the battery out of the back and start again!
Overall, I'm not very impressed with the phone, its supposed to be suitable for a businessman, but I can't even get it to work as a personal user!
We have 4 other people in the house with the same phone and none of them are experiencing these problems.

I have to reboot in order for the phone to go online. A.d guess what the messages I wanted to delete r still there. View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I open up messaging on my home screen, it's pretty slow and choppy. I have about 10 threads open with about 3,000 txts total. I delete most pictures and animations I receive, to save memory, but I like to keep my text txts. It's slow when I scroll down through my threads, and it takes a second or two to open up a thread, regardless if it has 10 txts in it, or 2,000. Anyone else have this problem? I should add that it did not improve after the update. I wonder if I'm low on memory overall, but I have 87M free according to my advanced task killer app. I get what seems to be a glitch too, when I get a text message and it appears at the status bar at the top, sometimes it shows the same text three or four times, at random intervals. Sometimes it just shows it once, like it should?

I recorded one video that was about :30 seconds and took two pictures. Now when I open my camera I get a "warning low memory" message. I checked the sd and phone storage from the settings and its showing 1.68gb available? also when i go to gallery i cannot look at pictures or watch the video I recorded.

How in the world do you delete an individual message of a conversation without deleting the entire conversation? When I expand a conversation, the messages have reply, reply all and forward at the bottom of the message but no delete. The delete button at the bottom of the screen (between archive and older) only wants to delete the whole conversation. What am I missing?

I want it set up in a way when I delete a message from outlook, it disappears from the phone Inbox.(vice versa) Right now it doesn't do that.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was goofing around my phone and i found out how to delete a message and a call with out deleting all of it like when you go to call log and click clear it removes every call or in your message t removes the whole thing instead of just one. well to delete only one call number go to the number and click & hold it until a little window pops up and it will give you a menu for that number go to the last one remove call this will only delete that one call. same thing works for the SMS message just open up the conversation you were having with the person and click and hold the part you want to delete and and a menu pops up and click delete. Hope this helped out the people that didn't know about this.

a bit of a learning curve as u can see, and going from a physical QWERTY to a touch screen is difficult. Got some ROMs installed and definitely more apps, but pretty much similar to what i had on my BB...
My problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.
Is there a way to swipe a text message notification on the lock screen to open that message like you could do in Jelly Bean? My messages show up, but when I swipe them, the lock screen slides over to a second page. I tried playing around with some of the lock screen settings, but couldn't figure anything out. Am I missing something completely obvious, or is this somehow not possible to do?
Brand new S4 received yesterday, stock OTA 4.4.2 pushed by Verizon about 5 minutes after my phone was activated.
After playing a bit more, I found that if I swipe to the second lock screen page, then back, if I tap on the message notification it will open, but tapping before that yields nothing.
I have been searching but so far have not found the answer to this question: is there an app to automatically delete threads when they get to a certain length or if they have been inactive past a certain date?
My old phone just autodeleted the oldest text once you got past 100, and while it is nice to have more memory than that I do not want to go through my threads and manually delete them to stop them from taking up too much memory. anyone know/use such an app?
