HTC Incredible :: Open YouTube App / Absolutely Nothing Happens
May 10, 2010When I try to open the You Tube app, absolutely nothing happens. It just brings me straight back to the home screen. Does anyone else have that problem?

I have tried Boat Browser and Dolphin, and they both behave the same way. If I google search for a youtube video through one of those browsers, and I click the youtube link from the google results... it will go to the youtube mobile page within the browser (rather than open the youtube app and play the video).

Jan 19, 2013My mom was messing around on her note 2 and I dont know what she did but now everytime we try to open google chrome it automatically opens the youtube app. We can only get past this if we press back enough times to get back to chrome but this happens every time and its really annoying.

When I listen to my voicemails (using the stock voicemail app) the sound quality is absolutely atrocious. I have to turn the volume all the way up and it is still very hard to hear and the overall quality is extremely bad.
I just find this so odd since the call quality during normal calls is perfectly fine.
Nexus :: N1 Absolutely Refuses To Send Text Messages To Certain Short Codes
Mar 14, 2010On my old phone (unlocked iPhone),I subscribed to news and weather updates via SMS from a local radio station. The shortcode is 411923.Then I got Nexus One (same T-Mobile service and SIM) and still receive the messages from them. Well, one day, there was a big news day (chile earthquake?) and I was getting annoyed by them, so I was gonna reply with "STOP" like you do with most short codes.The Nexus absolutely refuses to even attempt to send this number a text. It won't even try. It immediately shows the "message failed <!>" notification and sound.I can send to various other shortcodes, but this and a few others, the Nexus won't try.I am sure I could get another T-Mobile phone and swap SIMs to do it from that phone.I am just wondering what is the problem?

May 1, 2010Does anyone else have absolutely terrible coverage all the time? About 90% of the time I have one or no bars of service. And my 3g connection is always awful. I'm starting to think its just the Eris because I've had other phones with Verizon and have had very good coverage with them.

People posted that the advantage was you could default to HQ.
But, I'm confused. I got my dinc yesterday and when I play a youtube video in my stock player, I start out in HQ automatically.
Do I have an updated stock player or am I missing something?

May 30, 2010At first I thought it looked decent since the interface was clean and the HQ videos looked good. But now the more and more I use it I realize how much it sucks. To start, you can't do ANYTHING while watching a current video without it stopping. So if you want to comment on the video, read it's info, or put your phone on sleep, the video stops playing.
Because of this it makes YouTube useless for music. YouTube is one of the best music sites out there (since almost any song is uploaded in video form), but because you can't put the phone on sleep or do something else while it's playing it's unusable. Why would I stare at an image on my screen at full brightness for 5 minutes while listening to a song? It's a battery killer and makes no sense. Also the search feature is weaker. For some reason when I search stuff on YouTube.com I get much more results than I do on the mobile app. Lastly, you can't tweak the settings to make HQ video as the default. The low-quality videos are awful and you have to go into settings each time to change it to HQ.
HTC Incredible : Can't Upload To Youtube / How To Fix?
Sep 5, 2010So uploading worked fine before Froyo, but now that I have Froyo I can't upload anything to youtube. When I try it just says "waiting for retry - 1 minute" It seems to go a couple %'s at a time if I manually select retry, but I did that all the way to 100% and it didn't post.

Aug 3, 2010I took a video on the DINC video camera. Tried uploading to Youtube. Got a message that its waiting for a WIFI connection to do so. Problem is that all teh WIFIs in my hood are password protected. any ideas to work around this? Maybe my settings are off? I did transfer a crappy piss poor video that I shot with a Blackberry 8330 that I put on my SD card to Youtube with no problems.

Sep 4, 2010I'm running stock 2.2 OTA on my incredible. I attempted to upload a vid to youtube via "share" in the video album and failed. At first I thought it might be the camera locking the file. So I kill the camera app. Try again, nothing. It fails. I connect to my WiFi @ home see if it helps to no avail. It keeps trying to upload for a few times and eventually fails. I had to USB them to my pc and then upload them from there.

Jul 15, 2010Using the Facebook app, some music artists post videos of concert footage etc. When I click on the video to watch it, my Incredible will ask me if I want to use Internet or YouTube to watch it. Unfortunately neither works for me.
When I choose Internet, YouTube's website pops up with the video and a play button. When I click the play button it does nothing. When I choose to open it via the YouTube app, I get an error saying that it can't play the file.
Is there a way to watch embedded YouTube videos that people post on Facebook via the app?

I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?

For example, if first I type in the word transformers and then click it, it will search youtube or if I am on the android market/internet search for transformers. Next if I went to search for transformers 2, I start typing in the word "transformers" and right away the above word appears, but if I click on it, it goes right to the original search. How can I do it where if I click on it the word transformers will appear but not run youtube video/android market/web browser so I can then type in the number 2.

May 12, 2010When I view videos it takes a very long time to buffer and when it does it gets about 5 seconds worth then has to buffer more. Is there away for it to download it better instead of stopping every few seconds to buffer more. This way it can be smoother. Dec 24, 2009When I'm at home, my WiFi speed is typically almost 3m DOWN and 700k UP. (Lame compared to my speeds at work) While my 3G is typically about HALF of those speeds. But here's where my confusion sets in. When I watch a YouTube video with the stock YouTube app, videos buffer faster and/or play MUCH better when using 3G. I'm wondering if the 3G connection is utilizing some kind of compression that allows this?
