HTC Incredible :: Add Contact And Then Linking Them?

May 1, 2010

I am some facebook contacts that don't have phone numbers on their fb accounts so I go to People and then click Add Contact, I enter their name and number and then I hit save. I then have to search for the contact and then edit and link them. Is there a more efficient way to do this? For instance, is there a way to link a contact from the "Add contact" form instead of hitting save and then searching for the contact you just saved?

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Not Linking Facebook Contact Picture To Phone Contact List Info

Sep 17, 2010

I was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?

HTC Desire :: Facebook Contact Linking

Jul 2, 2010

I've seen a few threads on here about this but none with an answer to my question.I want to keep facebook on friend stream but i want to remove the contact sync option.Numerous people have said to remove the facebook for htc sense option in settings->accounts and sync.then to re-add the account and quickly untick the "sync contacts"box. I've done all this except for the last bit as there is not a check box.I can only imagine that the app has been updated to not include a check box.

I don't have the car head unit set for that input method, so the tunes go nowhere, but suck battery life.There is no way to tell the head unit to not use BT audio when connected. Is there a way to have the phone not bring up the music app when BT connected?

HTC Incredible :: Using Facebook/Gmail Contacts And Linking

Apr 29, 2010

Is there any way to automatically sync all your facebook contacts with Gmail contacts? My Incredible syncs some of the contacts but not all of them. I know there is the option to "link" information on your contacts but I have a huge number that have not linked and it would be a paint to manually go through all of them and do this on a contact by contact basis.

HTC Incredible :: Linking FB Info Only To Phone Contacts - Sync

May 3, 2010

Converted blackberry of 5 years here. Just signed up but I've been reading everything about the DInc since I got it on 4/29. I've see a lot of FB syncing posts, but I'm not sure if anyone found a solid resolution for it. What I'm trying to do is this, and maybe this question and answer can be a good area to finalize the solution instead of looking through all of the 100 threads that have been hijacked and derailed 100 times over.

Bottom line,
I have 400 FB contacts who I don't care about
I have 100 Phone contacts who I do care about.
I want to link my FB info only to the phone contacts that I have (meaning leave the 300 people on FB out of my contact list, and update the people on my phone list only). Now I've found a partial solution so far - but my end result is not good.
1. Sync facebook under accounts and wait for all contacts to appear in your contact list.
2. proceed to scream and yell and ask your ceiling why the hell all these people are on this list.
3. in people - menu - choose only phone, and make sure facebook is unchecked. That seems to solve 50% of the problem.

But when you go to dial, every single person from hell to heaven shows up in that phone list, and there is no way to filter just "phone" contacts, vs. "facebook" contacts like you can do in your people app. Is there anyway, somehow, at this point in time, that you can get rid of those FB friends from your phone list? Or do we have to deal with this for now? And also, I'm ready to just remove facebook, and use the mobile site, because I can't stand typing in john, and having 2 in my phone book, but 20 come up because of my FB friends who I don't give a rat's a$$ about. What have we found yet, and sorry if I'm being redundant, that being said, that's no excuse for being redundant but I did use the search feature and I found nothing but derailed posts, and complaints, but what we need is a solution for this.

HTC Incredible :: Strange Behavior After Linking Sense Contacts With Facebook

Aug 10, 2010

I manually linked a few contacts in HTC Sense to their corresponding Facebook profile. Afterwards I see strange behavior including one or more of the following:The contact becomes unavailable to Google Gesture Search One or more single digit telephone numbers are added to the contact adding clutter. I learned I can delete these if I click Menu > Edit > choose Google > remove when clicking on the contact in the People app, I receive an error that the contact is not available I am running the stock Android 2.1 that shipped with my Incredible. This seems like a pretty substantial bug. Has anyone experienced and/or solved it?

I am really struggling with linking menus together. The app I want to create is a collection of menus that leads to url links to various sites I plan to open within the application. I have created a list activity menu with 8 options and I have eight classes with further options. My problem is how to link the menus together. I ask the question and someone said that I should map. Here is the code:

private static final String L2 = null;
private static final String L1 = null;
/** Called when the activity is first created. */

super.onCreate(icicle);
// Create an array of Strings, that will be put to our ListActivity
String[] names = new String[] { "Pp", "Cp", "L1", "L2", "Bt", "Se", "As", "Travel"};
// Create an ArrayAdapter, that will actually make the Strings above................

Android :: Resource Linking / Imports

Jun 23, 2010

First off; I know the implementation of this should be discussed on the framework list, but I'm putting this idea out on here to see if there is a need for it. I've recently worked on a project where the designer wanted a 2 x 3 grid of icons as the apps "home" page. This threw up an interesting situation because to do this using the best resolution possible it seems we would either need to copy the actual icons into multiple directories, or create a resource alias file for each icon, neither of which is ideal (think 30+ icons across the app which needed duplicating). What I'm wondering is if there is a need for a single file which contains all of the resources to use within another resource directory. To give you an idea of the problem I'll scale it down to 3 icons which have mdpi and hdpi variants;
drawables/icon1.png drawables/icon2.png drawables/icon3.png drawables-hdpi/icon1.png drawables-hdpi/icon2.png drawables-hdpi/icon3.png
As the Dell Streak is a WVGA device that identifies itself as a large- mdpi device we wanted to use the -hdpi icons for it, but this would result in three new files containing resource aliases; drawables-large-mdpi/icon1.xml drawables-large-mdpi/icon2.xml drawables-large-mdpi/icon3.xml What I'm wondering is should this be a single file which contains a list of all the imports. For example;
drawables-large-mdpi/imports.xml which contains;.......

HTC EVO 4G :: Linking Facebook To Contacts - Not Syncing At All

Jul 26, 2010

I had to get a new EVO because my charging port failed on my first one. When I got the new EVO, I entered my gmail account & all my contacts came back down to the phone. I have re-installed all my programs and Facebook is working. I CAN NOT get my facebook to sync up with my contacts. I go into people, select the link icon, click Link to Facebook and it does nothing. I also went into Menu-Settings-Accounts & Sync and clicked Sync All (my facebook and gmail address are in there)--it runs the sync and I still get nothing. I pulled the battery, I updated my PRL & profile but it won't work. I even uninstalled Facebook, reinstalled it and it still won't work. Does anyone here have any ideas on how I get my FB contacts to sync up with my contacts?

HTC Hero :: Linking Facebook Profile VillainROM 12

Jul 24, 2010

So yesterday after being utterly sick of waiting for Orange to release 2.1, I made the leap and rooted my phone. I found it fairly straight forward and played around with a few ROMs finally finding VillainROM 12 to suit me the best. Only problem I've encountered so far, I can't link Facebook profiles to my Google contacts at all.

When I'm in the People App, I go over the Sync screen, enter my Facebook username and password to enable it. Then when I go onto a contact, scroll to the Sync screen and press link profile, it says there are no matches and there are no Facebook profiles in the list to link it with. I just get the message "No Matches Found" in the list instead. I have tried logging out of Facebook for Sense and logging back in, but its to no avail. The list still stays empty. I had all my contacts linked back in 1.5 HTC Sense.
