I have the vanilla 2.2 rom so no HTC sense. I miss being able to search for mail so i want to put the HTC email program back on without installing sense. is this possible?

I am trying to figure out whats going on. I have 2 DI for myself and girlfriend. I have my email (gmail and yahoo) setup through the HTC Mail Client and they work fine. I setup my other phone the same way and it worked fine, but once the yahoo account completed the process of downloading the inbox, I got an Authentication Error stating the login was incorrect. The login is not wrong and works fine to login via the standard web page. I tried to delete the Yahoo Account on the HTC, but when I went to setup again I had the same issue. Not sure how or why this could be happening. Any advice is appreciated. Also verified all the yahoo email settings on my working device and they are all the same on the other device with the issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo the other day I went to download an app out of the market. The download finished, but it seems my phone decided to auto-reboot itself in the midst of the installation. After the reboot completes, I go back to the market, reselect the app, and it's hung at "Installing..." (And when I say "hung," the market is still fully functional except that one app). I'm given no option to cancel the installation. Killing the market app then trying to go back in has no effect - same deal. Hung on install. Another reboot didn't help.
Is there any way to delete the install package and make the market forget I even tried in the first place?
It's Angry Birds (wanted to see what all the fuss was about), but the install seems to have failed in a way that any app install could have failed.
Is there anyway to delete or remove Sense from my incredible. I would like to run it using plain old android without the Sense overlay.

View 2 Replies View Related I'm using Samsung GS3 with null_26 ROM. And I'm a MS Exchange user as well. Mail on my device is so MUST HAVE option. Also PUSH support is very needed option. At the moment in the ROM existing e-mail stock Samsung app is okei, but I have played with the HTC One ( HTC Sense 5) Mail app and that is what I need.
So- is there an option to get on my SGS3 the HTC Mail app and what do I need for that? If not- why?

I'm looking into getting the Droid Incredible but had a question about all Android phones with the HTC Sense UI. I know that there is a wait for these phones to upgrade when Android has a version upgrade for their OS. If I were to remove the Sense UI from the phone would it be possible to upgrade immediately when a release is available? Take, for example, the Droid Eris. Would it be possible to disable/remove the Sense UI and install Android 2.1 and not have to wait? Or is Sense embedded in the phone to where that's not possible?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI have had a few of occasions that my incredible doesn't ring but goes straight to voice mail. Not always from the same caller and not any common apps running that I can think of. The callers have told me they heard 5 or 6 rings and then got voice mail. I checked their phone entries and straight to voice mail is not checked. I had two of them call me right back and the phone rang. I am not using Google voice. It maybe too early to call it a problem but thought I would post to see if any others have had this happen.

"I have reason to believe that HTC Mail has a significant memory leak or bug which is causing all of the "Phone storage is getting low" messages. I've had the phone for 3 weeks as of this Thursday. My setup is 2 POP3 email accounts configured during the initial setup in HTC Mail. At around 110-115 megs it triggers the "phone storage low" message. The problem is that as far as I can tell, there's no way to reduce the file size of this HTC mail app once this process has started.
I've deleted every shred of email, all In-boxes, all sent, all trash all everything from every mail folder for every account - no reduction in app size. I trashed every shred of email from the system and the HTC mail app still hovered around 110megs (and the phone storage low indicators continuing). After researching the issue online and piecing 2+2 together I realized that the only solution is to wipe the phone. The issue there is that there are no guarantees that the issue wouldn't resurface again (actually it's quite likely).
Bottom line: HTC mail seems to have a very significant memory leak or bug that causes it to blow through its allocated memory at an alarming pace and there is very little that can be done to stop it once it's started. I would strongly recommend to those of you with the above issues to not use HTC mail after wiping the phone".
I much prefer the Gmail mail app for the way it looks, and easier to delete mails and can use stars/labels.

Anyway, I uninstalled it and now HTC sense is force closing all the time and I am unable to get to the app settings to see what the problem is. get me to a place where I can sort this out. Mail app that was recently put in the Market, I have been using the stock mail app to check my Yahoo! mail.Last night when I checked my Yahoo! Mail through the stock mail app, I was getting weird error messages. Most of the time it would go ahead and put me in my Yahoo! inbox but there would also be a message saying "login failed." I would click OK and then go about my business because e-mails were coming through. I figured it would sort itself out at some point.This morning, it was still doing it and it was annoying, so I re-booted the phone. Same problem. So I decided to delete the account and re-install it (a few weeks ago I had some issues with my Exchange mail account and deleting then re-installing fixed them.)Now, when I try to re-install the account it says "Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password." I have tried it over and over. I know I am using the right username and password - I just used them on my desktop PC to get into the account. And my Yahoo! Mail app still works on the phone.Anyone have any ideas what has happened and/or how I can fix this? In Gmail, you can respond to emails as if it was coming from the business email (server). This was a simple sync I had with Blackberry emails. However, I'm finding difficulties setting up the same thing for my new HTC Incredible (Verizon provider).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a pop e-mail account set up on my incredible to check every 10 minutes for new e-mail, but it never does. the only time it checks for new mail is when I manually launch the mail app. My Gmail account works fine. I will send myself a e-mail from my gmail account to my pop e-mail account (another email address) and that email will not hit my incredible until I manually launch the mail app.

I've synced it with Exchange so I get my gmail as it comes, but when I reply from either the gmail app or my PC, it doesn't appear in my HTC sent mail. I've refreshed and nothing happens. I prefer the HTC layout better than the gmail app and love that I get previews on the widget, but the gmail app works exactly as I need it to. -Cannot get on the internet, browsers close after a few seconds
-Cannot get on Pandora
-Swype does not work, even after reinstall. I cant download new version because I cannot get on the internet because of the browser issue.

So, I just Dled the incredible revolution theme from ROM manger and tried installing it over virtuous 3.1 I wiped the data using ROM manager and everything went smoothly until. it's looping between the HTC quietly brilliant screen and a black screen with 3 dots in the center. How should I deal with this? Should I pull the battery and wipe and restore my nandroid backup of virtuous?
