I edited tags of all my music files, having categorized them by Classical, Folk, New Age, Pop, Rock, Russian, Soundtrack.
These are ONLY genres I specified.
When I open player, it displays a bunch of Ethno-Lounge, Classic Prog, JPop, Light Classical Crossover, Minimalist Techno and all of those Mumbo Jumbo.
Then I erased all IDv1 and APE tags, I edited and resaved IDv3 twice, I ensured no genres except specified by me really present in these files.
But it looks like the player displays just an old info.
How can I reset pre-cached info of stock music player to force it to re-read new tags?
SettingsApplicationsMusic and Music EnhancerClear Data - already pressed. No effect except options "Shuffle" and "Repeating" are reset, and buttons take the default order.

I have a quick question. I'm looking to install the Uncommon Sense ROM, but what if I want to go back to my stock ROM? How do I do that?
how much work would go into getting the stock pics phone and dialer to work on my HTC hero s with the leaked sense 3.6 update. I'm currently running my own concoction in which everything is stock ics except for the dialer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Rezound. But this issue goes deeper than just the Rezound or even Sense phones.
I installed a dialer app that I *LOVE*...it is faster and more usable than sense, and even themeable. It works perfectly. The problem is that for incoming called, Sense keeps rearing it's fugly head and forcing me to use it.
I have tried disabling various processes and that damn app still comes up on incoming calls. How to make the fugly Sense dialer go away for good without having to root? I do have ICS installed.

I have a rooted Galaxy S3 running stock 4.1.2. My husband recently upgraded his unrooted S3 to 4.3 and I'm super jealous of his stock email app. I tried copying the apk from his phone to mine, but it didn't work.
A few days ago I successfully updated the email app on my phone to the version from 4.4, and I thought installing 4.3 would be as simple as renaming the old files and copying the new apks. But the 4.3 version isn't working. I tried with and without the corresponding odex files, renaming the apk from SecEmail_J.apk to email.apk, but nothing I've tried works. When I click on the email apk in Root Explorer, I tried to install, but it says problem parsing. I copied SecEmail_J.apk, SecEmail_J.odex, SecExchange.apk, and SecExchange.odex, rebooted, no stock email app. Then I tried just the two apks, rebooted, no stock email.
I am interested in turn the stock rom of my phone in a ready-to-install rom. I mean, roms usually are .zip files with scripts that writes the customized files to the system file, overwriting the old files. I want to know how to take the stock rom of my phone and turn it in a intallable .zip file, like a customized rom.
After a normal installing the phone would be like the phone with the original rom, without changes.
I am interested in this for make changes and costumizations in the stock rom for then reinstall it. Normally, rom porting is made by taking a compatible rom (like CM) and taking the wished to port rom and changing directories like /system, /data, etc... Am I right? Well, if a would take the original rom of my phone and would turn it in a installable .zip, I could make ports, right?
I have cm 7 on my HTC wildlife and I want to reinstall a stock eclair rom.
I have tried the ruu exe files and keep getting error 170 saying my phone isn't connected. I've tried all solutions I could find, phone doesn't even reboot into bootloader wile its running. I have also tried the zip files but when I try to install with clockworkmod recovery it just says installation aborted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to install a stock image on my Acer Iconia A1-810 tablet, I've been stucked in a bootloop, because I failed at rooting it, that i could partially solve using an update via the recovery (it failed but now my tablet can be launched at least). So now, I'd like to install a stock rom to make everything back to normal but I absolutely don't know how to do.
I tried via adb/fastboot but the commands aren't responding on the device.
Also the main problem is that it seems there are no custom recovery available (CWM) for this tablet.
Why I can't update my device using the OTA update (reboot + fail each time), I checked with root checker and others apps like that, no root detected (I uninstalled the root using the toolkit available here [URL] .........

I have several android tablets, all but one (at this moment) are rooted. I am not interested in putting a custom rom on them at the moment (mainly because not all functions -like camera- are working on all devices) but I would like the ability to do a Nandroid backup that seems to be only available with custom roms. On one device I can't unlock the bootloader (Azpen A701), don't know about the unrooted one at this time (brand new Hisense Sero 7 pro).
Is there a way to add CWM to a rooted stock android (only root applied and associated superuser/busybox apps installed)? What are the requirements (unlocked bootloader?)? Where to get said CWM and how to install it?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-19300) international version. I rooted it last night. Took a custom backup of ROM and backup using Titanium backup. I installed cyanogenmod 9 on it today. It was working perfectly. Then when i installed Google apps (gapps) and restarted it got stuck on the bootscreen. I hardbooted and now all i see is this fuzzy black n white screen ( like static). I tried going into clockworkmod recovery but still the same screen. However, i can still go to odin mode.
So i guess i have to install stock firmware through odin now. But i'm unable to download the firmware. All links are on hotfile and as everyone knows , it sucks :/ download stops after 2 min. Cant find a mirror also.
I've tried downloading it many times but failed

I want to make my EVO run like its stock from HTC. No extra items or anything just android 2.2 and htc sense with 4G and all the rest functional. Is it also possible to do this and receive OTA updates from HTC, or if I go down the path of rooting and roms will i have to manually install any update when it happens. I would love to be able to get the phone as stock as possible and be able to never have to reinstall or manually update/flash/root etc. again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted my phone and successfully flashed the CM6 ROM. I tried going back to sense (froyo 2.2) for 4G, and I believe my backup was corrupted or I did not back up correctly. What is the best way (if possible) to revert my phone back to the way it was? I would eventually like to get to the point where I could go back and forth when I wanted using ROM manager.
