View 7 RepliesI want to set my phone to ring only. I don't want any other notifications (text, email, etc.) to make any noise or vibrate. No matter what I do, when I set the Ringer Volume the Notification Volume gets set to the same value.

1. albumthumbs
2. android
3. DCIM
4. download
5. LOST.DIR
6. media (which has my pictures in it)
7. rosie_scroll
I have figured out how to put different sounds on it for my notifications and ringtones, but stumped on how to put songs on it to where they show up under the music folder. Again, this is from a macbook to the incredible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been playing around with Android development and one of the things I'd like to be able to do is dynamically create a background image for my windows, similar to the one below. This is from my BlackBerry app. It consists of three separate parts, the bottom right logo, the top left watermark, and the bottom right name. It works independent of screen size because the BlackBerry app just gets all three parts and generates an appropriately sized bitmap using the screen width and height.Since Android has quite a bit more screen resolution possibilities I need to be able to generate backgrounds on the fly like this. However, I have not found any way to get the height/width of the window in Android. I can get the screen resolution, but that includes the application title bar and the notification bar, which is unacceptable.I'd like to know how to get the size of my window, or screen resolution minus the title and notification bars. I think this might be possible using the dimensions of my layout managers but I cannot get the height/width of them in the onCreate method so I'm not sure what to do exactly.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had intermittent problems with my notification bar. Sometimes it just won't "swipe" down. When it has happened in the past I could usually just power down the phone and voila it works again. Well, for the last 24 hours nothing has remedied the problem.....it just wont pull down.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOne thing I do like about the iphone/ipod touch is that you set the home button to double tap and have that bring up the music controls. really basic, just brings up pause/play, forward, and back...and volume. I really miss that since I'm trying to use my Droid as my main music player now, but I hate that I have to click a widget or go to notifications to change the music. Especially when I'm driving, its would be so much easier if the controls popped up above the lock screen so i don't have to unlock every time. Any thoughts?

like on the iphone, as you all might know, you can double-click the home button to bring up the music control from anywhere.
i was wondering if there was a similar function on the hero?
I am looking to add controls to adjust screen brightness locally in my app menu but can't seem to figure out how to do it. I have seen examples to max-out or dim brightness but I am looking to add controls so that the user can control and set the brightness level. Does anyone have any examples, tutorials, source code, or just a place to point me in the right direction?

View 3 Replies View Relatedadd Pandora controls to the notification bar lock screen?
LG-D801?
This may be a stupid question but I didn't see it in the forum already - I really miss the music controls on the lock screen, which 1.5 and 2.2 had. I'm running KaosFroyo 38 and it doesn't seem to have this - at least not that I can find? Am I missing it in the settings somewhere, or is there an app or widget I can download?

View 8 Replies View RelatedAn app or mod that will use the microphone to sense the amount of noise around you and adjust the notifications accordingly - that is to say when its quiet, next to my bed and I am sleeping I want it to be all quiet sounds - but when I am working and there is fan noises and other stuff that is louder then normal I want the notifications to be loud - but if I walk into the break room which is quiet I want it to be quiet again - or if I am listening to music in a room or car turn up the notifications so I can here them and back down when not. You know take a sound reading and turn up or down the volume of the notification that is happening at that given time.
Only problem being when its in your pocket it will always seem to be quieter then normal so they will be quiet also, so there would need to be something to listen to the sound and determine if its being muffled by a pocket or whatever and turn it up then - if playing a sound and analysing that sound it should be able to determine what environment the phone is in, like a pocket or bag that will make it quieter. I am not even sure if i am describing this properly but I know someone can probably figure it out, but it might have to be something the manufacturer does, like that phone that has 2 microphones to auto cancel out background noises like a bluetooth headset.
Is there a way to set the physical buttons on the side and front to do things when the screen is off like go to the next song or volume up? It would be great for when I am listening to music that way I don;t always have to turn the screen on and unlock just to turn the volume up or down.
View 15 Replies View RelatedIt seems like I'm not the only one having issues with my headset not controlling my music. Even when I'm not on a call, the button seems to only want to control my phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change the song/look at whats playing on the lockscreen while you are playing music with the stock player? I always have to unlock, drag down the notifier bar, click on the player. On my hero, there was a music thing on the lockscreen where I could pause, or go to the next/previous song?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven't found a solid answer for this yet. What I want is simple: music controls on the pattern lock screen.I don't want Widgetlocker or another lock screen replacement, which have given me problems and don't seem to be reliable. I just want to be able to pause/play/skip from the pattern lock screen.I am okay with binding physical buttons to this task if that's what it takes.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola S10 bluetooth headset for listening to music. It's really nice not having to deal with cords and having controls for play/pause and track forward/back right on the headset.
However recently the controls have stopped working when my screen is off. I can't pause my music or advance track. I hear the 'beep' in my headset indicating that a button has been pressed, but my phone isn't getting or ignoring the command.
To make matters more complicated, it isn't a consistent thing. Occasionally the controls will still work with the phone off. This has been happening for a couple of weeks now and I'm having a very hard time finding any regularity to when it will or won't work. There doesn't seem to be a pattern. I also can't seem to trace it to an specific program that I recently installed.
I've been looking for a couple of days and haven't found anything worth trying. I also do not like in-the-ear buds and would prefer something that goes over the ear.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running Sapphire 1.1.1 and like it so far. Coming from Cyanogen, I'm mostly interested in the music volume rocker controls for skipping through songs when the screen is off. I know the problem with Sapphire has typically been that the volume rocker controls sometimes continually skip through songs when the button is pressed, but mine seems to only start the current song over. Anyone else have this problem? The lock screen controls work fine, but I'd like to get the volume rocker working correctly so I can keep my eyes on the road when driving.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried running the ported HTC music app from xda yesterday on my BB v4 and got FC's. I'd love to have this on my phone since it plays genre's. Anybody have any success with this or have an updated version ready for froyo? Also, is there a way to get the CyanogenMod volume up/down music controls when the screen is off onto BB v4? It's really the only thing that I miss. I don't know the "rules" of ROM's sharing, etc. certain scripts or whatever.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm hoping for some pointers. I simply want two buttons.. nothing more, to allow me to control my music.I know, I know. "Why not just use the music widget?" Cause it's ugly (in my opinion). With Bettercut, I'm aware that you can create your own shortcut, but you have to have the source code or some sort of.androidaction.blah in order to create it. I'm just curious if I could use that or if there's something out there that's better.I don't need to know the artist or the song that's playing, I just, well, I miss the days of double clicking my home button and hitting next or stop with my iPhone. That's what it boils down to. So, if there's a way to get the music controls on the lock screen... well, that would even be better.Anyone have some suggestions? I have searched and searched for some sort of resolution, but it's been to no avail. Or, I could have just been searching for the wrong thing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedTried looking around but couldn't find what i was looking for/people didn't respond to the other posts... so is it just me or is it super hard looking for a good music player...
currently I'm using cubed but i dont like it. people swear by it but im not following. its seems a bit clunky, it scrolls terribly, and i dont like the lockscreen controls.
for my question. i can deal with a music player like cubed BUT I'm looking for a music player with lockscreen controls that doesn't disable the timer/alarm notices. the lockscreen controls with cubed is $#!t. you press "unlock" even by accident and it unlocks (dont like that). and it doesn't even show you the time, so i have to completely unlock the phone and lock it again just to view the time. AND i cant see when my next alarm is going to go off. really inconvenient.
Does anyone know of a music player that has lockscreen controls that does not disable the clock/alarm notices when you wake up the phone before you unlock it?
1. Is it true that HTC will not update the OS? IE it comes with 2.1 but you cannot get 2.2? - if so, why?
2. I have read the bars are low, poor radio - which shocks me at VZW.
While at my house and playing with both the Incredible and X, I noticed that the Incredible had only one bar, while my X had full signal. My first reaction was, "I can't keep a phone that has poor service at my house!"
But after looking into it further, I found that the dbm was almost spot on for both phones. It turns out, it's probably a software issue regarding displaying the bars rather than an actual signal problem. My call quality has been great so far with no issues.
Anyone have some custom ones or know where there's a selection? Kinda tired of the stock Dinc one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's been 22 hours and I still have 2 bars. This is after my first charge cycle AND I have been using a little internet, some youtube, texting, 2-3 pictures, and lots of phone customization/tweaking. I don't even have TaskKiller or an Extended battery yet. NOTE Half of the 22 hours I have been in my basement (right on lake michigan) where Verizon has to FIGHT HARD for a signal - the bars are at 0 but I can still make calls without being dropped. ATT + T Mobile don't work in my basement at all but Verizon is able to squeeze a signal somehow. Doesn't seem to be killing my battery.
