I haven't found a solid answer for this yet.What I want is simple: music controls on the pattern lock screen.I don't want Widgetlocker or another lock screen replacement, which have given me problems and don't seem to be reliable. I just want to be able to pause/play/skip from the pattern lock screen.I am okay with binding physical buttons to this task if that's what it takes.

This may be a stupid question but I didn't see it in the forum already - I really miss the music controls on the lock screen, which 1.5 and 2.2 had. I'm running KaosFroyo 38 and it doesn't seem to have this - at least not that I can find? Am I missing it in the settings somewhere, or is there an app or widget I can download?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm hoping for some pointers. I simply want two buttons.. nothing more, to allow me to control my music.I know, I know. "Why not just use the music widget?" Cause it's ugly (in my opinion).With Bettercut, I'm aware that you can create your own shortcut, but you have to have the source code or some sort of.androidaction.blah in order to create it. I'm just curious if I could use that or if there's something out there that's better.I don't need to know the artist or the song that's playing, I just, well, I miss the days of double clicking my home button and hitting next or stop with my iPhone. That's what it boils down to. So, if there's a way to get the music controls on the lock screen... well, that would even be better.Anyone have some suggestions? If I have music playing in the music app, and I do a "swipe-left" from the lock screen to turn "Sound Off", it doesn't mute the music. Is this the same for others? To me this seems like a bug.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm seeing so many people complaining about the new lock screen that it seems that many Droid owners aren't using a pattern lock to secure their phone. This really surprises me, the phone contains access to all your email, contacts, calendar, and any other personal data you may have placed on it, and a large percentage of you aren't even using the basic security provided by the pattern lock? Or is it that many people don't know the pattern lock exists? I just can't imagine having a phone like this that isn't secured to whatever extent is available.

Is there a way to set the physical buttons on the side and front to do things when the screen is off like go to the next song or volume up? It would be great for when I am listening to music that way I don;t always have to turn the screen on and unlock just to turn the volume up or down.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a pattern lock widget and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to use it so I opened the widget and read the first screen or two to see what it was all about but I never set up a pattern on it - I decided that I didn't want the program. So I set my phone aside for a minute and the screen locked but when I hit the power button to turn the screen back on, the pattern lock screen was there, not the "slide to unlock" screen.
So I just ran my fingers in a random pattern (not even connecting dots - just a random swipe) and it let me right in, Okay, fine. Then I went and uninstalled the app and tried locking the screen to make sure it was gone. Sure enough, the pattern lock screen was there when I tried to unlock it. Again, I ran my fingers in a random swipe and it let me in. I tried pulling the battery and that didn't get rid of it.
So at this point, I seem to be stuck with a pattern lock screen to unlock my phone that is not set to any specific pattern...And I don't even have the app installed anymore! (It's not listed in the list of installed apps.) How do I get rid of it? I just want to go back to the stock "slide to unlock" screen.

I am concern that if I lose my phone, and it is found by an honest person, they will not know how to return it. So I was wondering if anyone knows how to display return information if the pattern lock is on?

Currently I can have playback controls on the lock screen of my idevices, as you can see in the screenshot below. Pandora is one example on when I would use this. How can do this same thing on my android device? I currently have a Galaxy Tab 2 7" & I'll be getting the GS3 soon.

Coming from Cyanogen, I'm mostly interested in the music volume rocker controls for skipping through songs when the screen is off. I know the problem with Sapphire has typically been that the volume rocker controls sometimes continually skip through songs when the button is pressed, but mine seems to only start the current song over. Anyone else have this problem? The lock screen controls work fine, but I'd like to get the volume rocker working correctly so I can keep my eyes on the road when driving.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried running the ported HTC music app from xda yesterday on my BB v4 and got FC's. I'd love to have this on my phone since it plays genre's. Anybody have any success with this or have an updated version ready for froyo? Also, is there a way to get the CyanogenMod volume up/down music controls when the screen is off onto BB v4? It's really the only thing that I miss. I don't know the "rules" of ROM's sharing, etc. certain scripts or whatever.

currently I'm using cubed but i dont like it. people swear by it but im not following. its seems a bit clunky, it scrolls terribly, and i dont like the lockscreen controls.
for my question. i can deal with a music player like cubed BUT I'm looking for a music player with lockscreen controls that doesn't disable the timer/alarm notices. the lockscreen controls with cubed is $#!t. you press "unlock" even by accident and it unlocks (dont like that). and it doesn't even show you the time, so i have to completely unlock the phone and lock it again just to view the time. AND i cant see when my next alarm is going to go off. really inconvenient.
Does anyone know of a music player that has lockscreen controls that does not disable the clock/alarm notices when you wake up the phone before you unlock it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd really like to be able to read my most recent text BEFORE I unlock my pattern lock screen. Preferably in the form of a popup. I really don't care if it's over it or on top I just want to be able to read it before I unlock. I've done a good deal of searching, on xda and elsewhere, and I really can't find any information on how I might be able to do this. I tried playing with the popup settings in handcent and I have got the pop up to show up over the lockscreen, but if the screen turns back off then I have to unlock the phone to see the text again. Is there anything I can do about that?
I even tried playing around with Sms Popup with no luck either. Could I perhaps somehow remove the background on my pattern lockscreen so that I can see the popup behind it? I'd also like to add that I'd really rather not use any third party lockscreen apps like WidgetLocker or Lock 2.0 because I really don't like them. I know it's kind of a specific question but it's just kind of an aesthetics thing I guess.
I would love to stop using the HTC lock screen and use only the pattern unlock - any ideas how to do that?
