View 8 RepliesIs there a way to change the song/look at whats playing on the lockscreen while you are playing music with the stock player? I always have to unlock, drag down the notifier bar, click on the player. On my hero, there was a music thing on the lockscreen where I could pause, or go to the next/previous song?
View 3 Replies View RelatedTried looking around but couldn't find what i was looking for/people didn't respond to the other posts... so is it just me or is it super hard looking for a good music player...
currently I'm using cubed but i dont like it. people swear by it but im not following. its seems a bit clunky, it scrolls terribly, and i dont like the lockscreen controls.
for my question. i can deal with a music player like cubed BUT I'm looking for a music player with lockscreen controls that doesn't disable the timer/alarm notices. the lockscreen controls with cubed is $#!t. you press "unlock" even by accident and it unlocks (dont like that). and it doesn't even show you the time, so i have to completely unlock the phone and lock it again just to view the time. AND i cant see when my next alarm is going to go off. really inconvenient.
Does anyone know of a music player that has lockscreen controls that does not disable the clock/alarm notices when you wake up the phone before you unlock it?
Is there a way to use quick music controls on the passcode screen, or do i need to swipe in my passcode to get to the player/pandora?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm afraid to root my phone and I understand that's the only way to get rid of the default music app on my captivate. If I can't get rid of it, is there a way to make it a lame duck and set another player as my default player.
Here's why:
I recently installed Playerpro which has all the features I need in a music player but when I press the headset buttons (which I need for my daily walks) it automatically starts my default music player, which I never use. Granted this may be in an issue with the app as Mixzing and others don't have this issue but is there anyway to set defaults on my droid.
I am using WMP to sync pics, vids and music to the phone and noticed that the album art looks horrible (low definition). I always added my own album art to iTunes and on the iPhone it looks clear and crisp. I figure that iTunes optimizes the photo for the iPhone but i'm trying to now optimize it for the Captivate and am running into a wall.Has anyone else experienced this and fixed the problem?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI cant get my music player to shut down. This happens periodically and it gets really annoying (and embarrassing when Im in class). I searched and read the only way to shut it down is to use the exit/return at the full screen music player and then go to your app killer. Even if I follow these steps and then unplug my headphones the music player will usually 'turn back on' and start playing music at full blast out of my speaker..How can I kill this thing once and for good? btw im using advanced task killer.

View 23 Replies View RelatedThis maybe a silly question but how do you turn the music player off ? It has a pause but no stop if i go to home it still plays. I have been going to my settings and app/running serv. and shutting it down that way, but I'm sure there must be an easier way.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm loving my captivate except for one issue. I use my phone as my main mp3 player so its important too me that the music player works flawlessly (keep in mind this is my first android device. I find the samsung themed music player very laggy beyond belief, so my question is, is there anyway too get the stock android player on this phone?
View 1 Replies View Relatedreturned my first Cappy today, for a plethora of reasons (Battery, GPS incredibly unsnappy 1ghz processor that my previous iphone 4 crushed) among others. But this one seems to be a happy and healthy cappy so far. Anyway, running in to an issue. I have all of my music in itunes, but converted it and just housed it in windows media player when i took my iphone back and got the captivate. When I put my music on the captivate, I get all kinds of crazy file names, numbers, squiggles and the like. It's showing me the actual file and not what I've tagged it as, so I have very few artwork, cd names, and track names there. I've tried to sync music 2 ways:
1) Hook cappy up to pc under media player mode and sync through windows media player
2) sync with itunes agent
Both methods got the same results. I like my music libary to be smooth and organized, but i can't figure out how to change the files names to what I want! Should i get mp3 tagging software? if so, which kind? Can I just change the name in windows? It's kind of making miss my iphone!
Ive searched around and havent seen an answer for this one yet. all my music is tagged correctly and it plays fine with every other music player, but the samsung music player will recognize some tags and the rest it just files under "unknown" but then it lists all the info under the song title, so i have a ton of songs with long titles by artist "unknown." is there a specific type of tag that the samsung player wants? other than that i actually like the stock music player, especially the drop down on the lock screen. is there another player with a neat drop down like that on the lock screen maybe?
View 9 Replies View Relatedwhen I play a song I don't get any album artwork. Is there a secret to this or does the default player not support this. The art work shows up in Itunes. Anyone know of any music app that is better than the stock one?
So the stock music player has the 5.1 setting, which to me makes a huge difference over other players. How many of you feel trapped into using it because it sounds better, like me? i wish I could get the same option on other players

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe standard Samsung music player crashes whenever I select 'artists'. The program just boots me to the desktop and I get a message in the task bar stating 'Not Enough Space in Music Database'. I have about 20GB of music stored between the internal and external cards. Both cards have several GB free. The program works perfectly when I choose All, Playlists or Albums. It just doesn't like Artists.

Can i turn this blasted widget off?The skipping is not down to the Headphones issue on this one, i've solved that.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to use the stock music player on the Captivate because it has music controls on the lockscreen. The problem is the stock music player on the Captivate doesn't recognize playlist (m3u) files. DoubleTwist works well with playlists but it doesn't have lockscreen controls. Kies doesn't sync playlists. You can make a playlist on Kies but when you try to sync to the phone it just copies the music files over without the playlists. I either need a way to import playlists to the stock music player or find a music player that has lockscreen controls (preferably free).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am looking at PowerAmp and besides the awesome EQ, what else makes you think it is better than stock? I like the stock big buttons and text especially in the car, and like the stock notification bar controls. Just looking for a good reason to upgrade if there is one. If the stock EQ was easier to get to quickly maybe I wouldn't even consider anything else. What do you think?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy captivate external speaker plays music while I'm listening to the headphones, am I missing a setting to turn this off? Shouldn't the phone's external speaker not be playing music while I'm using my headphones? Sometimes the external speaker will remain silent while my headphones are working (as I would imagine should be the case) until I receive a text message, and then the external speaker will play music along with the headphones. Anyone think this could be a problem with my device? My 30 day period expires on Sept.5 so I am wondering if I should return it for an exchange?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAm I wrong, or does the stock Music Player NOT show the butyrate of MP3 files, only the filesize? WTF?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with the music player, the music was crackling badly, I thought it was the headphones so I tried 3 different pairs and the same thing happened, it kept stuttering in the middle of songs. I am not at all happy about that. My mp3 player worked perfectly with the same music files, they are WMP files not mp3 because to me mp3 sounds compressed to shit. I said to because the sound quality blows away any mp3 player and when it isn't stalling and breaking up. I am considering flashing with Odin today and swapping it for number 3. I have not spilled anything on my phone or dropped it, I am so careful with it and I am curious if anyone else has this problem or does mine have a defect. I love this phone and really want to stick with it. I would like to use it for music because the sound when working is amazing. If it is a defect in my phone I will swap for another.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having two weird problems:
1) The stock Music Player will not recognize my imported playlists. Every other player I've installed sees them just fine. I don't know what I'm doing wrong with the stock player (I sync with Songbird).
2) Unfortunately, all of the other music players I've tried will play choppy for the first few seconds of every song (TuneWiki, Meridian, MixZing, doubleTwist). The stock player does not have this problem for me.
MixZing: Pro Lock Screen widget, recognizes my playlists. Con Plays choppy Stock Player: Pro Lock Screen widget, plays perfect. Con Doesn't recognize playlists.Anyone who can help solve the Con on either MixZing or the stock player?
