It doesn't start up the same Gallery as pressing your normal Gallery icon. Instead it starts up a list of all images and then when you pick one it just returns back to the program.
What I'm looking to do is start up the regular gallery app just like if someone pressed the Gallery icon on their home screen. Any ideas how to do that?
General :: Auto-Screen Rotation In Gallery / Camera?
Nov 15, 2012I've got a Samsung Galaxy III and have problems trying to view images in my gallery using the auto-rotate screen option and rather then having to manuallly press the rotate screen "icon" which does gets annoying. I just want to tilt my phone so the images can automatically change to portrait or landscape on its own depending what angle the phone tilts. I've ensure the auto-rotate screen is checked from Settings under Display and even tried unchecking it and checking it again as well as switching my phone on/off.
NOTE: That the auto-rotate screen option does work fine for me with everything else like watching videos, texting, internet browsing, music and even viewing the overall images in the gallery but when going in and viewing the pictures individually from either the Gallery or the Camera. All I've got is a rotate screen "icon" to press on manually each time I'd like the picture to be portrait and if I want landscape I have to press on the screen rotate icon again. I noticed the auto-rotate screen option doesn't work on my Home Screen and Lock Screen as well but that isn't the main issue.
I've been reading around and tried pulling out my battery on "Odin" mode, wait 30sec-1min then turn my phone on again and that didn't work. I've also did the same procedure and ensure I unchecked the auto-rotate screen option and checked it again after I turned on the phone. I tried the Gyroscope Caliberation option and calibrated it and that didn't work either. My sister has the same phone as me with the same version installed but she doesn't have this problem and I'm wondering if it's something to do with how my phone software's set up?

Samsung Captivate :: Lock Icon On Camera Screen?
Aug 26, 2010My wife and I have had our captivates for just over a month and have loved the device despite the few minor issues that we've experienced with them. I check the boards daily to see all the latest, but didn't see anything on one issue that i am experiencing.
When using the camera to take pictures of my infant son, if i try to take a picture, then another and sometimes a third (infants are hard to keep still for a picture) without closing the camera application, a few times i haven't been able to press the take picture button and have noticed a "lock" icon on the camera screen, then can not exit the camera app at all and need to power off the phone, then bring it back up. Does anyone know what causes this and if it's something that i am doing unknowingly when bobbling the phone trying to positing him for the picture?

May 28, 2010I can see the pictures in my gallery, but when I view them full screen, they are not QUITE sharp. So then when I zoom in a just a little and wait a second, the picture gets totally in focus and sharp, and when I zoom out to full screen size, it is fixed and sharp, but I would like them to display as completely sharp when I first pull them up. Kind of nit-picky, but I am constantly showing people pictures on my phone, and it is kind of a pain.

Mar 26, 2010Have been having this problem for the Moment for a while now. Once a call is placed the phone will go black and I am unable to access the onscreen functions (Speaker, Dialpad, etc). I've tried tapping the screen, hitting the back button and hitting the menu button, but the screen remains black. At some point it MAY come on or just briefly flash on. This has been very annoying - especially with calls that require multiple prompts.

Jun 15, 2010I use my phone as my alarm clock. Every night I put it on the charger and leave the night desk clock on. It stays on and doesnt shut off. In the morning the alarm goes off but Tue screen is blank. Pushing any button on the device puts the alarm in snooze mode. The only way I can make the alarm stop is to have the screen on and waiting for the alarm to sound so I can press the dismiss button. I'm pretty sure this started after I installed Brightness Profiles from the marketplace. I have since uninstalled that program but the problem persists. I have "Never sleep while charging" checked in the options but it makes no difference. There was a new development this morning. I was using the web browser this morning while plugged into the charger and the screen just shut off. I turned it back on with the power button and had to slide to unlock. The screen never shuts off in the car while charging. I have the timeout set to "Never".

Feb 21, 2013I have a sprint Samsung Galaxy S3, rooted...Int he past week or 2, whenever I am in an application (Chrome, Yahoo, GTalk, etc) The screen will sometimes randomly shut off. It just goes black, i can still touch and use whatever app I was in (I can hear the sounds of clicks, etc) and the buttons stay lit on the bottom. When I press the lock button it makes the lock noise. When I then unlock it, i get to the lock screen with no problems. If I unlock into whatever app I am running, the screen will almost immediately shut off again, or sometimes after a few seconds, or sometimes it waits until i touch the screen. BUT, if I unlock into a system app (messages, phone, homescreen, etc) the problem doesnt happen. I have tried adjusting all the display settings for screen timeout, rebooting, battery out, killing services, etc and nothing seems to work.

May 3, 2010I downloaded a battery life app today and after I did that a tiny command prompt looking thing appeared in the top right corner of my Incredible. Everytime I do an action, a line of code appears. For example, on my main page it says stuff like

And other random code lines like that. Its in a tiny text in the top right of the touch screen. Is there any way to get rid of this? I tried to uninstall the battery app that seemed to cause it, but the prompt didn't go away with it.
