HTC EVO 4G :: Dust On Top Left Corner Of Screen
Aug 5, 2010i was cleaning my screen when I noticed some dust on the top left corner of the screen. I don't have a case on but man, i've only had this phone for like 2 weeks. Anyone else having this issue and how did you deal with it? I'm thinking about bringing it into the Sprint store and hopefully, they can clean it out.

Jun 15, 2010I too have dust under the screen of my Evo like some other users on the forums. Almost in the same places too. Upper left hand corner of the screen. Has anyone taken their Evo back because of this issue? I hate to be a nit picky costumer and take it back due to this issue but because I notice it all the time now it's starting to bother me. I bought it at Best Buy so I'm sure they won't have any in stock if I try to return it anytime soon.

Jun 13, 2010I've had my evo for 4 days now, and I think I have a pretty significant amount of dust in the upper left corner. Before I call to exchange this, can anyone take and reply if it is more/less than the dust under your phone? There is also one random spec that made its way down to middle of phone (less concerned about this one). And yes, I know there is a thread complaining about "Crappy" build quality, but I think this phone is stellar in all other regards. I just need some verification that I have an unusual amount of dust for a 4 day old phone.

Nov 11, 2009There is a spec of dust along the left side of the screen about 1" up. Its definatly under the glass and annoying as shit. Also the metal on the frame is so dense that it has 3 small and i mean SMALL pits in the metal.... How is this even possible? I use my iPhone as a coaster for the Droid and it sits in my pocket glass out... They are definatly pitted indentions in the metal as you can run your fingernail across them and feel it. Any ideas if I can go into verizon store to get a replacement for the spec under the glass? I bought it online launch day and have only had it since monday.

May 26, 2010After having my Desire for no more than 2 weeks, I started to get dust under the screen on the left hand side about half way up. Though frustrating as my phone is never out of some sort of case, it is not too bad, doesn?t affect the phone in anyway and you can only really see it when the screen is off. I have been to my local T-Mobile shop and they have said they will happily send it off to be cleaned but to wait until it gets worse as I will be without my phone for a couple of weeks.

Jul 29, 2010So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.

Somehow I managed to scratch the screen protector and now I want to remove it however I'm having much difficulty removing it. Now I'm thinking if I should get a replacement screen protector as the Rogers version doesn't come with a spare one or just go without it. Anyone without the screen protector wanna add input about the durability of the mineral glass screen? I know that the screen on the iPod Touch 2G is very durable since I own one without having a protector on but I want to know if the X10s screen is just as durable.

Dec 2, 2010This was reported in the other thread about X8 Issues, but thought to start a new one to gather feedback from users. It's about the ''black screen'' freezing issue encountered by some users. I have had this several times since owning the phone for a few weeks, so it is a recurring issue. Problem: The phone hangs or appears to be shut down or become unresponsive suddenly. Pressing the hardware buttons doesn't help as the phone doesn't react at all. Solution: Take out cover and battery and restart.Observations: From my own observations, it's not actually a shutdown but a major freezing/hanging. Sometimes when it happens, I can still see vague shades of the display at an angle. After leaving the phone for a while in the pocket, the phone comes back to normal again. Not sure if this is true for all users with this problem. Anyway, gathering more feedback to see how prevalent the problem is, to evaluate whether I should take it to the SE service centre, or whether doing so will help at all.

Mar 19, 2010I've had my Eris sense November, loaded and uninstalled way too many apps, performed hard resets, loaded the 2.1 leak the night it was "found", and even done a couple hard resets sinse then. Had a new one pop up tonight, playing aroung I installed LockBot free. playing with it and Home, the phone got laggy. So, first thing I do is reboot. the phone restarts, but now it has a translucient box in the lower left corner and says "Safe Mode" and none of my Non-Android (ie Sense, Handcent, Pandore,...) widgets are showing up on the screen, let alone working, they just have little boxes that say "Problem Loading Gadget". Rebooted again, "Safe Mode" is gone, but widgets stil not working.....

Jun 18, 2010I am trying to unlock my phone. It's a rogers (Canadian) phone. I put a telus sim card in it, but when the phone boots, it says "activating phone", black screen with little spinney thing, then the phone continues to boot normally, and the main screen says "no sim in phone", and basically ignores the sim card.

Nov 6, 2010Over all of xperia x10 is quite good, nice design, awesome OS , 8.1 camera, very useful media/time scape and a huge 4'' screen.Despite its large screen, the only thing that bring the rating down is the 65k colours. No multi-touch input is all right because most phone out there still having the same capacitive touchscreen, but the 65 colours is really unforgiven.
In early specifications review, SE said that its capable of 16m colours but just that 65k effective colors under Android OS v1.6 but now, according to the recent SE product blog (http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/2010/11/01/more-info-on-the-updates/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sonyericsson%2Fproducts+%28Product+Blog%29) ,
There are no 16m colours screen anymore. I though no 16m is because software limitation but not its a HARDWARE issue. The different is so much obvious when I view a same picture and a video with Vivaz. Image projection wit x10 look dull but Vivaz picture look better, brighter (set to full brightness) and the colour look richer/darker when viewing the same video. I hope the announcement from the blog is not true, and hope that x10 is 16m colours ready as stated in GSM ARENA review [url] . BUT, overall of this phone are pretty impressive,and actually im having 1 of this. Everything from in and out is pretty good and awesome. Hope everyone in this forum could give their point of view or opinion on the 65k colours screen and wish SE could confirm with us that wheather its 16m ready.
