When viewing my gallery I get little thumb nails of each photo. One of the photos is a gray box with a rectangle and a exclamation mark on it. If I click the gray thumb nail, my photo comes up perfect.Why the gray thumb nail?

I have a few videos on my SD card. A couple that were downloaded but most have been recorded with the phone. I have all tha videos sorted into folders so I know which is which. But, today when I opened the gallery to view a picture there was a new folder created called "camera shots" with all the videos in it, or which I thought were the videos. When I opened the folder all the files were a picture of the beginning of each video and were shrunken down so small they are really hard to see. When I looked at the properties of each they all had the file ending in png. Anyone have any idea what png is and has anyone else had your phone recreate the "camera shots" folder without you taking any new pictures or videos?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I send camera shots via email using HTC's Mail application, the photos are not readable by most recipients (except, interestingly enough, by my wife on her blackberry). Same photos sent by the gmail app are fine. The photos appear as attachments, but they cannot be viewed and when the recipient tries to download, a jpg that is only a fraction of the total size is saved and that file is not viewable either.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know the camera saves pictures to the SD card, but I can't find them there using OI File Manager, or plugging it into my laptop!
The pictures are there, because I can view them and see them listed under "Albums". Under "Albums" it shows a folder called "Camera Shots", but when I look on the card, there is no such folder, nor can I find the pictures that are in it, anywhere else!
All I can see is the folder called "Saved photos" via the OI File Manager, under "Albums", and via my computer.
When I press on the camera icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen the app shuts down.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA few weeks back, when I was considering to switch to Galaxo or not, we had a thread here mentioning an odd issue,
Every 3rd picture taken with the camera app would be bad (or just a dud).
At the time, I couldn't reproduce the issue and it didn't bother me. But, just today afternoon (and a bit early in the week), I encountered something similar - every other picture had a 50% chance of being bad (just blank). It got to the point that the camera was just un-usable. I spent a good bit of time investigating this and I think I have an explanation. But first, let me walk you through what I did.
By default, I keep my camera to take 5 Megapixel shots at "super fine" setting. With that, I couldn't take any good shots AT ALL. I reduced it to 1M and "normal" setting. Things were a bit better, in that now only every other shot was bad. But, at least I was able to use the camera.
I use 3 desktop screens filled with widgets. I disabled most of my widgets and reduced the number of screens to 2. (I'm running Drakaz's darksense theme for Galaxo 1.6.3 ). With this, the camera was MUCH better. In fact, I could take 5 shots continuously without any problems (testing at home).
In some ways, it looks like I was stretching the limits of my i7500 a bit too much and so, the camera just didn't work right, but I can live with fewer screens and fewer widgets.
I miss the Handcent SMS widget, but from what I observed, its too resource-intensive for my needs. The only widgets I use now are from "Jorte" , the organizer app (really good too!) and "SMS Im Away".
So, for those of you who need the camera in working order, consider disabling a few screens and widgets.
Is there an app or a way to take panoramic pictures with the droid incredible? There have been several occasions I have regretted not having the feature on the incredible. Anyone know of an app or something? My friend has it on his x.

No success so now I want to go back to the original ics camera and gallery.. Unfortunately I delete the original ones when I install the 4.2 camera. So I download the camera apk and Google gallery. Apk and put in system.app the gallery shows up but not the camera. The gallery crash very often. I cannot make the camera shows up. Every time I turn on the phone it appears "Android update". I don't have a recovery.

In layman's terms, can someone please help me here? The other day I noticed (after Cupcake, before it, everything worked great) that pictures I was taking weren't saving anywhere, the camera would snap, you'd get a little view and poof, gone. Not saved to a gallery anywhere. Last night upon charging, I turned off the phone and when I turned it back on, the entire folder of camera pictures was gone. All I have on there now is move and "all pictures," both of which are the same pics. The gallery of everything I've shot is just gone. I plugged into my computer, the dci folder was empty, no photos. Does anyone out there know what may have happened or where the gallery might be hiding? Or are they just gone forever, S.O.L.?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI added around 6 gb of music to my 8 gb microSD card. After that the Camera updates the SD card for 20 minutes initially and after each picture is taken, and the Gallery says "Please wait..." for 20 minutes each time a new picture is added. If I remove the music files the slowdown is almost gone. I still think the Gallery is slow updating, but I can live with a few seconds. 20 minutes between each picture is just insane. The SD card works fine otherwise, and I have tried to reformat on the phone also. Same problem. What is wrong, and is ther anything I can do except for not having music on the phone?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a Samsung Galaxy III and have problems trying to view images in my gallery using the auto-rotate screen option and rather then having to manuallly press the rotate screen "icon" which does gets annoying. I just want to tilt my phone so the images can automatically change to portrait or landscape on its own depending what angle the phone tilts. I've ensure the auto-rotate screen is checked from Settings under Display and even tried unchecking it and checking it again as well as switching my phone on/off.
NOTE: That the auto-rotate screen option does work fine for me with everything else like watching videos, texting, internet browsing, music and even viewing the overall images in the gallery but when going in and viewing the pictures individually from either the Gallery or the Camera. All I've got is a rotate screen "icon" to press on manually each time I'd like the picture to be portrait and if I want landscape I have to press on the screen rotate icon again. I noticed the auto-rotate screen option doesn't work on my Home Screen and Lock Screen as well but that isn't the main issue.
I've been reading around and tried pulling out my battery on "Odin" mode, wait 30sec-1min then turn my phone on again and that didn't work. I've also did the same procedure and ensure I unchecked the auto-rotate screen option and checked it again after I turned on the phone. I tried the Gyroscope Caliberation option and calibrated it and that didn't work either. My sister has the same phone as me with the same version installed but she doesn't have this problem and I'm wondering if it's something to do with how my phone software's set up?
My application has buttons to launch gallery and video camera apps but the below code only seems to work on phones with the standard Cupcake build:
