View 1 RepliesMy LG Ally is stuck at the "VELOCITY" boot screen and is stuck in a loop. I had Velocity 0.3 flashed yesterday and I decided to re-flash today. I have tried wiping data/files/cache/dalvik cache. I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Also I never did a Nandroid backup (because I'm slow).
View 16 Replies View RelatedHave been having this problem for the Moment for a while now. Once a call is placed the phone will go black and I am unable to access the onscreen functions (Speaker, Dialpad, etc). I've tried tapping the screen, hitting the back button and hitting the menu button, but the screen remains black. At some point it MAY come on or just briefly flash on. This has been very annoying - especially with calls that require multiple prompts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use my phone as my alarm clock. Every night I put it on the charger and leave the night desk clock on. It stays on and doesnt shut off. In the morning the alarm goes off but Tue screen is blank. Pushing any button on the device puts the alarm in snooze mode. The only way I can make the alarm stop is to have the screen on and waiting for the alarm to sound so I can press the dismiss button. I'm pretty sure this started after I installed Brightness Profiles from the marketplace. I have since uninstalled that program but the problem persists. I have "Never sleep while charging" checked in the options but it makes no difference. There was a new development this morning. I was using the web browser this morning while plugged into the charger and the screen just shut off. I turned it back on with the power button and had to slide to unlock. The screen never shuts off in the car while charging. I have the timeout set to "Never".
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a sprint Samsung Galaxy S3, rooted...Int he past week or 2, whenever I am in an application (Chrome, Yahoo, GTalk, etc) The screen will sometimes randomly shut off. It just goes black, i can still touch and use whatever app I was in (I can hear the sounds of clicks, etc) and the buttons stay lit on the bottom. When I press the lock button it makes the lock noise. When I then unlock it, i get to the lock screen with no problems. If I unlock into whatever app I am running, the screen will almost immediately shut off again, or sometimes after a few seconds, or sometimes it waits until i touch the screen. BUT, if I unlock into a system app (messages, phone, homescreen, etc) the problem doesnt happen. I have tried adjusting all the display settings for screen timeout, rebooting, battery out, killing services, etc and nothing seems to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince I'm running ICS, I can no longer play GTA 3. The application shuts down after 3 seconds of cranking (black screen). This is not the version of Play store.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime i reboot my phone, I get bunch of problems with my phone. when I try to open the phone dialer I get a force close on com.google.process.acore. Sometimes it completely prevents me from using the phone.
Then on occasion the phone freaks out and shuts the screen off, but leaves the navigation lights on the bottom of the phone. At that point the phone is completely unusable for about 1-2minutes. Sometimes when it comes back on, it starts rerunning the media scanner.

When streaming from Grooveshark in a web-browser, the audio-streaming stops (after finishing current song) when the screen shuts/locks. I have tried several browsers with the same result.
Audio-streaming from audio-specific apps (i.e. TuneIn) works just fine.
Someone mentioned somewhere that it has to do with the browsers not being set to over-ride the screen-lock.
I couldn't find a thread that addressed this, sorry if it's been asked before! Here is my question: Is there a way to display the EXACT time of a call or text on the Ally and not just have it say 'yesterday' or '2 hours ago', etc. I can't find it in any settings and I can't seem to find an app for it. With my job I have to fill out a very detailed field report requiring exact times I spoke with someone, did something, etc. and I used to use my text messages as a way to keep record of this. If there is a way to do this it could make my life much easier!Disclaimer: After reading several posts here I see that I'm pretty technologically impaired in the span of droid users, so go on and treat me like I don't understand you're computer lingo because you're probably right. No offense will be taken!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for some type of patch that would allow me to answer calls and enable speakerphone by just sliding out my keyboard on my Lg Ally. I do have some experience in coding, so if someone could point me in the right direction,
View 3 Replies View Relatedanyone have this problem w/ the moment whereby your face touches the screen and causes accidentally pressed keys, things to move on screen, etc. associated w/ touching the screen? I think I remember this happening once or twice on the moment but admittedly, I don't use it much so not sure if the lock screen was on, screen was off, etc. Just looking to see if anyone if affected by this or if it's a known problem.

Also what is the best case for the motorola droid? Lastly, when I make phone calls my screen goes black so it is hard for me to end calls. How can i fix this? View 11 Replies View RelatedI am going crazy here... I've had this thing since it launched and everything is great except I keep hitting buttons with my face during calls! I mute, sometimes end calls, start 3 way calls etc and I have no idea how to prevent it. Is there any way I can make the screen lock during phone calls or change the call screen altogether?
View 12 Replies View RelatedOn the X-Scope browser there is a setting that will allow you to keep the screen on if the charger is plugged in. Is there a way to do that globally? I'd like to have the screen on while I'm driving and my Ally is in the vent mounted cell holder. Would be VERY handy.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Ally screen seems way too sensitive. When I try to get my voicemail and attempt to enter my password, it seems that it sometimes enters numbers for me and I get a message indicating that it is the wrong password. ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the velocity 0.3 and I tried to install the ROM but when it goes to the boot it shows an exclamation mark and the android robot thing. Then it goes away and reboots the system again. Its also the same when I try to access recovery mode via ROM manager. I read somewhere it's the signature for the ROM is missing and to change the settings manually but I can't get to recovery screen.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I cracked my screen and just need to know how to go back to the stock rom and unroot so if Verizon agreed to replace the phone they won't know I tried to mess with it root-wise. If anyone has done this before please post your experiences. My friend cracked his screen twice and had a rooted phone and had it replaced twice, so I know it can be done.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got this for my mom and there is definitely some sort of screen protector on it with a cut out for the proximity sensor. It is not the temp one either. It is perfectly installed like it was done by a machine. Does this make sense?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have an LG Ally with a shattered screen. It still works fine, but the glass is broken and it isn't very pleasant to try to use the touchscreen. I already replaced the phone with an HTC Incredible, but I would like to try to repair the Ally for my fiance to use. I'm experienced in small electronics repair, but I am having a heck of a time locating the part. It just isn't coming up on any cell phone repair sites. Does anyone know of a supplier who would sell a replacement screen for this phone?

View 31 Replies View RelatedSo when you normally make a call and the screen turns black when you put the phone next to your face. When you pull it away from your face the screen is supposed to come back on. My Ally's screen refuses to light back up. If I slide the keyboard out before the call ends the screen will come back on. If the call ends before I do that I have a black/dead screen for a random amount of time. This happened on stock rom and Velocity.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried to load velocity using ROM manager and it would boot, but it got force quit messages repeatedly before I could do anything else so I tried holding volume down, home, and send together and it flashed a screen quickly with the little android guy and a progress bar and then after that it won't go past the android logo. I tried using the LG-utility to flash it but it gives me errors and it wont flash it. What can I do besides run the thing over and get a new phone from insurance?
View 4 Replies View Relatedi cleaned out the cache and everything and i had installed velocity .1, .2 and .3 in the past and i was trying out raptor .1 and everytime i try different roms it will loop over the loading screen.. and it says that its a error mounting the sd card.. it cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2

View 11 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway that I can get an HTC style lock screen on my Ally? I think I remember reading somewhere I would need a custom ROM with that feature. Is there anyway I (or someone else) can take Velocity 0.3 and add the HTC lock screen to it?
View 6 Replies View Relatedyesterday I accidentally changed the settings on my ally and I set it so I could see the status of my sent messages. I took it off earlier today because it wasn't what I wanted. Now after 3 messages I have a grey box on my screen that says "Message received by (person's number)" and it doesn't go away unless I turn my phone off and back on again. Then after a few texts, it pops up again and won't go away.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Ally was rooted. I saw that a new update was available, so I unrooted the phone for it. It restarts and then the screen gets an exclamation point with a little Android. I take the battery out to restart it, and it goes back to normal without the update.
View 11 Replies View RelatedThought some others might be interested in doing this if they haven't already. First off, you need root access to do this, and I am not responsible for any damage you may do to your device.
1. Download any font to your SD card. Make sure it is a TrueType font (most are) but double check anyway. Check out dafont.com for a huge selection of fonts.
2. Rename this font to Clockopia. Make sure the "C" is capitalized.
3. Now, open up Root Explorer (or any other file manager with root access) and navigate to system/fonts/.
4. Long click on Clockopia.ttf and copy it.
5. Paste it on your SD Card somewhere and rename it to something like Clockopia-Original. This way you always have a backup.
6. Now, long-click and copy your new downloaded Clockopia. Don't paste it anywhere yet.
7. Navigate back to system/fonts/ and press the "Mount R/W" button.
8. Long click on Clockopia.ttf and press "Delete"
9. Paste the new Clockopia in its place.
10. On the new Clockopia.ttf, long click and press "permissions". Check all the boxes under "Read" and the user box under "Write".
