Sprint HTC Hero :: PRL Manual Update?
Apr 25, 2010Finally rooted my hero to damagecontrol 2.07 and I must say it rocks. My question is, how can I update the PRL? I saw a link on another site but it was deleted on rapidshare. This was some type of manual update. I have tried to update it after I installed the ROM but it will not update.

May 22, 2010So i see that everyone is having isues with syncing Their facebook contacts to their contact list but I have the hero and am very content with it. I was on 1.5 until earlier today when I upgraded to 2.1. My question is that when I had 1.5 i manually linked my phones contact list with the persons facebook page. Now with 2.1 I want to manully do the same thing but my phone isn't even populating the list of Facebook friends so I can't even pick anyone.

Feb 17, 2010Mine isn't - since yesterday. No mail arrives and a manual sync doesn't help. Have tried resetting the caches (x2) in Applications and it will eventually re-sync (but maybe only on wireless), however new mail still does not arrive. Have powered off, etc. as you would expect. Is anyone else seeing this? I'm based in London using Three. Any ideas how I can kick it back into life?

Jun 21, 2010I found the place to call to get the user manual, if you want a paper version. It is the same size as the tips and hints book that comes with our phones, but about 5/8 of an inch thick. Nov 10, 2010I upgraded to Android 2.1 2 days ago and I've pretty much gotten most things that used to work working again, but I have questions/problems regarding the new functionality, can anyone help me? Blue tooth: I am able to send photos via blue tooth, but I CANNOT send a song, ring tones, etc which I could do with my SE 850i I bought 5 years ago. Perhaps if there was some kind of file manager application where I could see the file, I could send from there. In my opinion, blue tooth was marginally improved, but still is NOT satisfactory. Someone please proove me wrong! GEO tagging Photos: This is a new feature with the upgrade and I was eager to try it. In the GEO tagging widget it says to enable GEO tagging from the camera menu. I spent a fair amount of time, but I CANNOT find a camera menu or anywhere to enable GEO tagging. Please help! User Guide Gone: When you use the User Guide widget it says the files have been removed. I looked on PC Companion and confirm, they were removed. I copied the files from PC companion back into the .emanual folder on my phone where the files used to live, but that did not help.Still unable to see user guide. Did anyone get this working again? SMS-ing unsaved number: This annoying problem still exits after upgrade. As far as I can tell, there is NO WAY to sms someone from the call log for numbers that have not previously been saved. I often want to sms a number in my call log that either called me or I typed in. The only way to do this is to save the number in my contacts first. Am I missing something here?

Apr 9, 2010I have some specific questions, I have tried to read every single thread I can and considering I have only had the HTC Hero for 2 days I feel Im pretty clued up.My first concern if anybody would like to advise me..is internal memory. I have had the phone 2 days and only have 81 mb of internal memory left. I have just ordered a class 4 8G SD Card with adaptor, plus a USB reader for it....Now my question are:
1. when these items arrive should I partition the card? if so which method is the safest and "least" technical to ad apps2sd.....
2. With the supposed arrival of 2.1 (Im currently running cupcake 1.5), is it worth adding a new ROM to my Phone? I am not suffering any lag as yet so is it worth it?
3. How much data usage does streaming radio on Radio Time use up listening to it for an hour or so? (that one is just a shot in the dark if anybody has any ideas!
4, What benefits does Dolphin provide over the standard browser?

Sep 25, 2010I am trying to decide about either keeping my current HTC Hero (Firmware Version 1.5) or switching to the iPHONE. On the iPHONE, I am trying to figure out if I want the new iTOUCH or the new iPHONE. The problem is, the decision is dependent on my HTC Hero.I like the Hero, but it just feels like something is "Lacking" or "Missing." But I can't explain it.I have read on these forums here and there about how people have rooted there phone and how amazing it works and is compared to the official firmware out there.I don't know much about rooting when it comes to Android. The closest thing I can think of that might be similar in nature is when I had a jailbroken iPOD TOUCH.So now I am trying to figure out, to make my current HTC Hero "Better" or check it out the way it was meant to be, do I root it, or do I officially upgrade to 2.1?If you happen to recommend rooting, I am hoping there is a simple way of doing it. May 21, 2010Ok so i have a mac, and i am running parallels. I have connected my phone to the virtual machine, and am currently trying to install the 2.1 upgrade. It has been about 30 minutes and it still says 0% at erasing user data. Bu the dots are still moving as if it is working, just nothing has happened otherwise... I have not touched the phone or cord or anything of the like....is this normal? The phone itself just shows the HTC logo with a black background like it does on startup. Im worried. I have all my texts/pictures/apps/contacts backed up already, but should i just let it sit like this overnight or what....

Recently I had a need to access these hidden browser settings again and it took quite a long and frustrating search effort to finally locate this information which does not seem to be widely publicized. Feb 18, 2010I am a Sprint customer looking for an Android phone for basic functions. I am trying to choose between the Hero and the Moment. I have 1 of each right now from Sprint, on the 30 day trial. Here are the challenges I find with each. Does anyone know of any fixes for these?
Hero
1) Phone hangs up during calls because of lack of proximity sensor
2) Speaker phone wont turn off once activated, unless I end the call
3) Vibration mode is very weak and basically useless. Cant feel it in my pocket
4) Sprint Navigation does not work
Moment
1) Battery runs out before end of day
2) Bluetooth is spotty and wont always connect
3) Web navigation not as smooth as Hero.
