Can someone please tell me how to setup my email account using K-9 Mail. I've never setup email on a phone before. I got a Sprint tech to set it up through the standard mail app but have heard good things about K-9. I have a Roadrunner account. Can someone please help?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need an email app that Works preferably for my G1 phone. I need it for university and my job, however I can not for the life of me, after a week of trying to get the email app that came on the phone to work it will not work. I took the phone to the IT department if my university after I followed their instructions online for setting the email account up on the phone and every time I got to outgoing server settings the app force closed. The IT guy couldn't get it to work either.
I tried it a few times at home before it just sat for an hour trying to do something or other before my phone crashed and it turned itself off. I had a panic attack and thought I had broken it but alas my phone loves me too much to do that to me. So are there any other apps out there that are worth while for IMAP email (I do know its IMAP no idea what IMAP is =) that I can use with my G1 that I wont have to kill to get it to work?
I am having some emails issues with Desire. Apart from this the phones amazing. I can send from the ntl account (set up outgoing with gmail as heard problems unless using it from home router) but I can't set up my ntl account at all for incoming.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am a new owner of Photon 4g. I used to have a HTC touch. I am getting "login failed. please try again" message when I try to setup my corporate email.
1> I have tried using both domainusername and just username with no success.
2> Also have tried setting up gmail as corporate account and later changing to the desired account settings as suggested in other forums and it still shows the same error.
3> I have also tried unchecking "verify certificate"
I have been able to using the same credentials on my old phone and it used to work perfectly.
I'm getting my first Android device anytime now (FedEx says "out for delivery"). It's the HTC Droid Eris. I've been a huge Google user for years and became frustrated with how difficult it is to work on Windows Mobile. I have a few basic questions.
1. I want to use Push E-Mail/Calendar/Contacts, etc. With this phone? Can someone please explain the set-up process to me.
2. I had trouble with my Samsung Omnia and Google Latitude. It would 20+ minutes to get the GPS information and I had to keep Google Maps on the screen or it would stop using GPS. This function has become very important for me when I travel. Am I going to encounter these same issues with the Eris?
3. I would also like to have a chat client which uses push and can work with FB, GTalk, AIM, and MSN. Is eBuddy the way to go?
4. Twitter Application, I'd like to have an application that will put new tweets on my home page. I'd also like to have an app in which I can post tweets (preferably with the option to post locations). What is the best twitter application?
Anyone know how to setup notifications per user for email and text messages? Applications or setup are find. The one feature i miss the most from blackberry to android, that i have not found a work around.

I am coming from a BB Storm where my Road Runner (internet provider) email account worked flawlessly on the Storm. Back in the day when i had a Treo there was big work around you had to use in order to get email accounts like this to work on it.Is this the case with a Droid as well, or is it as simple as the BB storm where i just enter in my email and password in setup and it is done? The sales rep on the phone told me i would be able to get my RR emails on the droid but we all know how sales reps can be.

It is not an account that is organized with a bigger company such as google, yahoo, hotmail, etc. When I tried to set up my email account on my Droid ally, it asks me for a lot of detailed information about my server and then said it could not connect. I used to have a Blackberry Tour and it did not require any information other than username and password to set up an email account so I know my school does not have any restrictions on this type of thing.
Does anyone know what I should do? The Verizon store had no idea.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can access my AOL, Comcast and obviously Gmail with no problems on my Droid. However I want to be able to access my companies email I have set up through powweb.com (they host my website). Anyway I keep getting error messages that it could not finish set up or sometimes it says Error: check user and password details. I triple checked and made sure I was putting in the right info and then I even went on the powweb website and made sure I was putting in the correct settings and even contacted someone there and they gave me some info to try and help and I am still getting error messages. I have tried POP and IMAP. The exchange account, is a fee based account.

I can receive and send emails without problems, but I can't find a feature to automatically bcc messages back to myself. I do this so that I can synchronize Sent messages with my PC. Is this feature missing in Android V4.1 or am I just not seeing it?

However, no Picasa albums in Photos section. Went to Account setup, clicked on Google account, no Picasa there either. On my wife's Droid (OS v2.1 also) Picasa is listed under Google account options. Is this an Incredible bug or am I missing something?

Your phone is communicating with Google servers and setting up your account. This may take up to five minutes. Then two minutes into it the screen goes blank and I get this message: Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care.
Well, after 2 calls to customers care I am still getting the same error. I have full internet access, data capability and even setup my gmail account as the email to use. I can send and receive email/sms/mms, calls, etc... Anyone else have something for me to try before returning the phone to Sprint? (it was purchased at BB).
Anyone know how? I've synced me gmail account which is also my google voice account...but don't see the settings anywhere to setup GV.

I have a Droid Razr Maxx through Verizon. When I had the phone setup, I had to create a Google account (gmail). Since then, I created another Google account with a username I prefer.
How do I switch the phone over to my new Google account so I can delete the old one? I want to keep the same email notifications with the new account as well.
I just got my phone yesterday, and the verizon rep insisted he needed to setup a new google account on the phone. I didn't feel like arguing since I already have one so I let him do it. Once I got home, I setup my account and sync'd all of my email and contacts, but I cannot delete the original account he setup off the phone. I also cannot sync my calendar through my account. The phone is only wanting to sync the calendar with the account he set up. Can someone offer advice on how to delete the account he setup? BTW, I have gone in and tried to delete the account, but the phone tells me applications need this account and in order to delete it, I will have to reset the phone to all defaults and all information will be lost.

I have managed to use it to open up webpages including my usual email provider/facebook and have bookmarked them. I have inserted my numbers into the address book (and managed to sync with facebook for photos/birthdays), send SMS, make phone calls but that is it! In simple terms: how can I find apps and download them, does it always work through WiFi, how can I take things off the homepage (I have managed to install the (empty) playlist to the homepage but cannot remove it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was just entering my hotmail account details using the settings provided by a member here and it verifies nicely. When I enter the Mail app however it says that the "account for this widget has been deleted. Would you like to switch to another account?" When I select Yes it just leads me back to my account Inbox - the same account it claims was deleted This account was created using the Manual IMAP option.
Earlier today when I just put my details in normally, without selecting Manual, it was working okay - although the sync was a problem. At least, however, it had a notification icon on the App when I got a new email. But strangely after I wait a few minutes going back to that account inbox, it does show my emails. What can I do to stop this?
I setup the same gmail account on the gmail app and on the htc widget account and now I am getting duplicates of the same email cause I have the account on both of them. Is there a way to delete my account gmail account and keep the htc widget account?
