This seems to stop the HTC Internet widget from working. I keep replacing it but it still happens.

Okay -- so I finally mustered up the courage to root and try a lag fix. I rooted using the unleash the beast files. And then tried the lag fix over at XDA found here: xda-developers - View Single Post - [UTIL] One Click Lag Fix 2.0
I ran the lagfix_ext2, like the forum says -- it took about 10 minutes to do some things ...There was an error message in the middle saying that it had to stop the process. I said okay, but the process kept working, finished, and then rebooted. It booted up, and I downloaded quadrant again (it was gone for some reason), ran it, and only ran an 895 -- this is 16 points less than what i ran just using the unleash the beast. Should I try the lag fix again?
For some reason, ever since I upgraded my HTC Hero to the latest Rom today, I have received two message tones and notifications for every text message I receive. I don't know why this has started happening as no new apps have been installed apart from those that were erased during the upgrade.

View 19 Replies View RelatedOkay so I rooted using one click method and I choose Tazz Froyo as a custom ROM I want to go back to 2.1 OTA when I download RUU I go threw the wizard I get to the third screen I get ERROR [170]: USB CONNECTION ERROR The ROM update Utility cannot connect to your Android phone. Please check that the USB cable is connected properly between PC and your Android phone. Check the following: 1. The Android phone is connected to the USB cable. 2. The USB is connected to the PC. Which they clearly are the light is on the phone. I made sure it's connected threw the phone and the computer. I don't understand can someone help please so I can go back to 2.1 root isn't for me!

View 10 Replies View RelatedI just installed a new sms app and love it, the problem is that I can't get the proprietary message application on the Hero to stop retrieving all messages. It doesn't help to have cool features like blacklist, if you can't use them because the original app just logs the threads anyway. How do you turn off or uninstall the original message program, I would prefer to just get rid of it and free up the space. Any ideas???

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy sprint HTC hero for some reason will all the sudden stop allowing me to get text messages and mine that I send don't seem to reach the phone I am sending it to. It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWoke up this morning and my wifi has stopped working, I'm on orange, was on 1.5 this morning, day before yesterday I tried getting the 2.1 update by debranding, installing generic 1.5 and getting the ota updates, got to 2.1 but then the phone decided not to let me use my orange sim card in it, sim network lock. Went back to orange 1.5. Wifi worked yesterday, then this morning stopped working. Also decided to root this evening now on villainrom 12.0.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo last night i had my phone sitting on my dresser while i watched the dodger game about 2 hours later when i picked it up and attempted to check face book, it kept giving me error messages. Convinced that this was another stupid FB error i went to surf the web only to say I was not connected to a network. I looked at the top of my phone and i had 3 bars but next to there bars there was no 1x or EV signal just the bars. I went into my settings and un clicked the mobile network and then clicked it again and it worked This has happened to me about 4 or 5 times since i owned the hero since December. Anyone have any similar stories or explanations? Also sometimes it seems that when my phone is sleeping, i wont get text messages until i unlock it?

Not only is it the most laggy widget ever, but sometimes it bugs for me so that I can only go two messages down, not able to scroll further downwards to other conversations - only upwards. Anyone else tried this or know why it happens?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am new to the forums, hoping someone is able to assist me with some Exchange Server Contact sync problems. We are running Exchange 2007 (w/ SSL) and my mail and calendars sync no problem. But when it does the contacts, I get the error "Synchronization is experiencing problems" with no further message to the error. I have tried over WiFi and with the carriers network. This is on a fresh wipe of the device, I have tried deleting and re-adding the exchange account to the device but with the same error. I get approx 6 of my 325 contacts synced.

It is not allowing me to use the phone at all, it says no service. Even the sprint website has my phone greyed out as if it don't exist. Now if I do a hard reset, everything comes back on, but I lose everything. This is my second Hero and I am hoping that there is a fix. I went to HTC email support site to try and get a solution and it is down, getting really frustrated with this phone. I downloaded apps from the market and transfered music to the sd card.
I've looked through posts but can't seem to find the solution. I'm using the smaller version (day view I guess) of the HTC Calender Widget.Under the calender settings --> views, I have "Include Weather" checked and a city is also populated, but the weather is not showing.On the widget itself, the day is on the left hand side, then on the right it just reads "No Events Today or Tomorrow".Where is the darn weather?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone was almost dead today so I just turned it off. When I got home and plugged it in and turned it back on I didn't have any service. It says no service. I have turned it on and off several times and have taken the battery out and put it back several times and nothing works. I have only had the phone for approximately 3 days. Anything I can do to fix it myself? I can't even pull up the phone pad or certain settings because I get an error message. I called technical support but because I can't get to the phone pad they can't help me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone else's phone randomly stop receiving SMS messages? I even have SMStomail installed and it doesn't catch the SMS messages at all. I can make calls, get emails, but no SMS at all until I reboot. It's happened twice and is beginning to get annoying.
This is not the same as the SMS/VM issue because a simple reboot solves it, and I am no where near 40mb on my ROM, and the SMStomail service doesn't catch it.
I just set the HTC messaging widget (just the standard guy) to one of my home screens and decided it was not worth having but when I try to remove it (just holding down on it) I get this error message...

If I use the full screen widget on one of my screens, it will display message body for some emails, and not for others.
I am getting a forced close error everytime I try to remove the HTC Messaging widget from one of my screens. I tap and hold down on the widget to select it so I can move it to the "remove" button at the bottom of the screen. Well when I tap and hold I get a forced error close message. Any ideas what I need to do to correct this issue. I'm using the original messaging app, and only have 3 other non related apps downloaded.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recieved an error two days ago saying "out of disk space". After restoring my phone to factory the ability to receive MMS/SMS went kaput! Surprisingly I can send but not receive messages. I was on the phone with Sprint for hours with to technicians. One of the techs implied that some of the early batch of phones from Best Buy have this issue. This is just one of the techs viewpoint. I am going to swap the phone today and see if it resolves the issue. I switched to Sprint specifically for TEXT so this could be a deal breaker. More to follow.
