Sprint HTC Hero :: Remove Latitude - Widget?
Jun 15, 2010When i select add widget on the home wcreen, i have three photo items listed. Which can i delete from those lists, just the android ones or both android and htc? Id like to remove latitude(widget) and one of the music ones and two of the photo ones. I show photo frame, photo album, picture frame or album...i want them gone. I also read around here that htc sense is hindering. Can i delete htc sense? im on 2.1 official, rooted. Alre, what is the best and easiest way to tether and how?

Jul 30, 2010My Hero rebooted itself when i cut it off and cut it back on due to aggravation of lag. after spending half the day fooling with getting back some apps, my contacts from google and the whole issue with syncing facebook to my contacts. i thought i could easily just look up my city for the weather widget location.
Well before the reboot my weather showed just fine, my location and everything. now my city isn't even in the data base and my gps and such is turned on. some of the directions ive read on using the gps to find my location has become a headache because i don't think i have those features.
When i go into my weather settings and click the + sign it goes straight to search location. i type in the name of my city and it doesn't come up.

Basically i want to find my present location's latitude and longitude .It is showing in emulator which is default one which points to Sanjose,usa.But it is not finding my current location(i am in Hyderabad,India).When i try to run the same application in My HTC magic (Android os 1.5) it is showing NULL.It is Not finding my present location. hat i have to do.is there need of Network provider like Mobile network(Vodafone,airtel etc) I am sending my code,Please check it and send me the working code if any body have,Please i need it urgently. Mar 6, 2009Ever since the RC33 update where the new Maps version came out with Latitude included....my Latitude acct has been...well...off.
I'm running my GPS when Maps is used...rather than a triangulation method w/ the towers. However...there have been QUITE a few occurances where Latitude shows me in a totally different STATE. I live in metro Atlanta, but apparently, I spend a lot of time at a country club near DFW in Texas. Once, I was going down the road...started up Maps, and it was tracing me going up an interstate in a city 120 miles away from me. At the time, I was no where NEAR an interstate...but Maps was showing my movement second by second.
This is rather irritating. Google developed the O/S, they developed Latitude...yet Latitude seems to work fine on other phones OTHER than the G1. Upon reading up on Google's Help Forums...I'm not the only one with problems when it comes to Latitude and Android.

Every once in a while, I notice my battery draining faster than usual and I check my Latitude settings and there it is. Latitude has changed it's location update settings to "automatically update".
I swap sim cards out quite often as I travel between a few countries for work. Is that the cause?

Jul 27, 2010I am using Google Latitude and my location updates are very infrequently.
My update reach from half and hour to 7 hours. Often it only updates every 3 hours. My battery is full to 3/4 at this time.
According to Google the updates depend on how often you move and how strong your battery is, but the update will never take longer than 1 hour.
Do you guys experience the same problem?
HTC Hero :: Clock - Weather Widget - Won't Display Current Location
Sep 1, 2009I've had my Hero on Orange for 4 or 5 days now and apart from when I first switched on the phone the weather app has just said "No weather data available" and the clock/weather widget has just had my location. I have the "location by cell" thing switched on, and I did manage to get it working once with the GPS, but other than that it just displays my location. It's the same whatever location I am in. The other cities download the weather just fine (London, Paris, New York, etc.). It's not like I'm somewhere tiny either, I am in Bromley. It doesn't make any difference whether I'm using WiFi or 3G.

Aug 1, 2010I have an Orange branded Hero and just tried to upgrade from build 2.73.61.5 (Firmware 1.5) to ROM Version:2.73.61.66 as I believe this is necessary in order to get the latest version of Android (2.1). Right at the start of the upgrade process I get an error message saying
Error [155] unknown error. The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone. Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again. I rang Orange and they couldn't help. I managed to speak to someone who understood the information I was telling him but he was not able to help other than do a Google search whilst I was on the phone to him. The suggestion was that the internal phone storage is insufficient to handle the 103MB image size of the upgrade file. I have now deleted all my apps (after backing them up) and have 123MB internal phone storage available space which should easily be enough but I'm still getting the error.
