I would set my HTC Wildfire to ring only once (or twice) for incoming calls. Even old Nokia phone have advance settings to do this but not Android phone. Is there a free app allowing to do this kind of advanced settings?

When I'm on a call and a 2nd call comes in, my phone doesn't ring or anything. Is there anyway to change this so that I know when I have a call waiting without having to look at the screen (which is usually pressed up against my ear)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone will sometimes not ring at all when I receive an incoming call. It will be waiting for me to pickup, but nothing will be coming out of the speakers. Also, sometimes when someone calls it rings and rings on their end and go to my voice mail, but my phone will not even register that they called. Oh, and it randomly revolted once or twice just sitting there. I am probably going to exchange my phone, but I wanted to see if that is the best course of action.

I usually can fix problems by myself, because I am skilled in Android, but this one I have to turn to my friends in the Android community and ask for some assistance. Next, the phone will randomly change my ringtone. Next, the Sense clock/weather widget displays a location that I don't even live in, and sometimes it will show just a number. I was fumbling to mute the tone before it woke up the whole house. But I could not find any option. Ok I cut up a few different ROM's (some Eris and some Droid) and got it working on her phone. Is there a known hack to fix the volume issue; or has Motorola ack the issue and have publically indicated a fix is in the works? Next weekend is no-tax weekend (in Ma) so I might try to pick a phone up then...
I'm pretty sure the wifi issue is a firmware problem (shame on moto for using an encrypted boot loader and having bugs like this one); not sure if overheating is limited to a few phones or is a design issue.
Anyways please add comments (negative and positive) relative to alternatives (samsung s and evo are major contenders). With the samsung the major negative is it pauses now and then and also have soft volume (there is a fix for the gps issue); for evo the major negative is +$10 and poor battery life (this phone is nice and loud) also the display is a bit dimmer than the droid x (an issue for outdoor usage).
The Eris has been a good phone for me except the mentioned issues. The fix the worked for me was to remove the appollo software task manager. It kept closing something I xouldnt see and caused me issue. I went from 5 resets a day to 5 days and no reset. I now use task manager 1.11.9 with 0 issues.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HTC Wildfire and anytime I'm on a call, the keypad is active which means I'm pushing numbers or unknowingly scrolling through parts of my phone when my face/ear comes into contact with the phone.
It's extremely annoying and I'm wondering whether this is the case will all Wildfires or is there something I need to change in the settings?
Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere in the forum. I've done a quick search and haven't managed to come across any solutions so far.
Loving the Wildfire, sussed out 3G, WiFi etc, man its so fast on the web. Also getting good battery life now that I only switch on Wifi etc when I need it, not leave it on all the time. One thing though, I can't find anything on the phone will show me basic info like number of call minutes I've used, number texts sent, amount of data used. Am I missing it or do I need to download an app for that?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a call there is a short, odd ring-tone that occurs just after I press Dial and before the normal ringing sound begins to indicate the call is going through.
It's about 1/2 second long, can be quite loud sometimes, and is kind of high-pitched....sorry, it's hard to describe. The tone modulates up and down quite fast - da-dum-da-dum-dum (if you can imagine).
I tried re-programming the phone, and also updating roaming, and it's still there every time I make a call. I haven't made any changes to call settings to speak of...never had this on my D1.
The whitelist/blacklist "block call" apps I have tried often will permit a partial ring sometimes before it recognizes the number and sends to voicemail.
Are there any such apps which NEVER have a partial ring?
I'm working on an application that does something during a call. So I understand I need to use a service. But how does my application detect that a call is incoming or the call is answered or whatever before I launch the service?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Droid Incredible with the stock OTA froyo pushed by verizon. I did a search and some say that if you're on a phone call, and another call comes in, you are not able to merge that second call so all 3 parties can be on the line, and that it is a limitation of CDMA. Others say that it is carrier specific, and that it has been confirmed not to work with the Evo on sprint, but nothing specific to verizon. Anyone have any info on this? I have been searching, but haven't found a clear answer.
On a side note, since I update to froyo, I've had an issue with call waiting. It seems that when I'm on a phone call, and I receive another call from a person that is on my contacts list and stored in the phone, it will not pull up the persons caller ID info (name, picture etc), it will only display the phone number. It always worked fine before, but this started happening since the update.
