When my friends call me, my phone starts ring between third and fourth free signal on theirs side, then the time I am realizing it rings and it's in voicemail already.very annoying.what makes this in-acceptable delay?

All incoming calls go directly to voicemail when I am listening to music on my Hero. Is there a setting I haven't found to address this? Or an app?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

Sometimes, when I receive calls, the phone will ring 2 or three times before going to voicemail - it is almost like I am rejecting the calls, which I know I'm not, as it tends to happen when I'm not even touching the phone.

View 22 Replies View RelatedSo just yesterday 12-1-09 my phone stopped receiving text messages and phone calls. People try to call me and get 4 rings then voicemail. My phone doesnt ring at all. I can place calls and browse the internet, run sprint navigation and all my apps just fine. It has been a perfect phone ever since I bought it. (11-01-09). I did a factory Hard Reset and still my phone didnt receive calls. Called Sprint and they had me turn off my phone and refreshed some info. Had to change the MSID # when i turned my phone back on but still nothing. Has anyone else had this happen to them. The only way I can receive my text messages is if I place a call then they seem to come through.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased the HTC Hero from Sprint around a week ago, and it came with a stock 1.5. Had no issues at all, so today decided to try out the leaked 2.1 RUU. Updated without a hassle, but I've been experiencing some issues. This led to me repairing the bootloader and then trying DamageControl 2.08, and now finally fresh 2.0d. All installations went perfectly, nothing to call home about.
It cannot automatically detect my timezone, and it has no clue as to my location for weather nor other features. When I enable the GPS to go onto Maps, it locates me as around 1,000 miles off the west coast of Africa, whereas I'm in Pennsylvania, USA. I can call my phone from another line, but no response on my phone (no calls received, nor missed calls). When voicemails/messages come in, they flood in (10 new messages, etc, that have all stacked up).
I'm using the Wireless Tethering that comes with Fresh 2.0d, and I used PDANet/EasyTether prior to now (as my sole internet is tethering). I'm wondering if this could have at all affected it. Even with tethering disabled for a good hour, still nothing can reach me. If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be greatly appreciated. (Perhaps a radio update?)
I have used my Hero in 2 different countries and I get the same problem: Regardless of signal connection, I miss half (a guess) of all calls made to me. People tell me it finally dials after a few straight-to-voicemail tries. This didn't happen with any of my previous phones (Nokias and Motos), in both of the aforementioned countries. I really hope my rubber case has all to do with this because I bought the phone from eBay (i.e. no warranty).

It's sat on my desk, enjoying full signal. All of a sudden it chimes up that it's got a new voicemail. No missed calls, no nothing, just a voicemail.
I HATE THAT! Can't decide whether to scream at orange or whether to scream at HTC.
When I'm on a call and a 2nd call comes in, my phone doesn't ring or anything. Is there anyway to change this so that I know when I have a call waiting without having to look at the screen (which is usually pressed up against my ear)?

Other times, I don't get these options and only a choice to slide the screen to unlock to answer. This has been annoying, sometimes difficult to answer, and at times I have missed calls. I read in another post that I can simply click the: Green button / Red Button on the phone to answer or send to voicemail.
Question: Why is it that on some calls I get the Accept / Decline and on other calls I don't? I'm not sure if it has something to do with calls numbers matching my contact list vs. unknown numbers. Sometimes I get it, other times I don't. Is there a way to set my phone to get: Accept / Decline every time?
Before the update, I had a screen similar to the alarm clock screen - an arc to pull down that would answer the incoming call.But after the update, I could have sworn there was a different screen. Like instead of that arc-bar, there was a green and red "answer" and "ignore" buttons. I am having a problem with my voicemail, not sure if it is related to my phone or not.
If my phone rings, and I ignore or miss the call, the caller will hear a recorded voice say "The number or code you have entered is incorrect, please check the number or code and try again. Message 7, Switch .."
BUT, if the phone never rings (like it cannot connect b/c of no service or in data and call never comes thru) then the caller is forwarded to my voicemail, can leave a message, and it comes thru on visual voicemail.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled the voicemail app, no such luck. I think this may be a Sprint-side problem.
I would set my HTC Wildfire to ring only once (or twice) for incoming calls. Even old Nokia phone have advance settings to do this but not Android phone. Is there a free app allowing to do this kind of advanced settings?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone will sometimes not ring at all when I receive an incoming call. It will be waiting for me to pickup, but nothing will be coming out of the speakers. Also, sometimes when someone calls it rings and rings on their end and go to my voice mail, but my phone will not even register that they called. Oh, and it randomly revolted once or twice just sitting there. I am probably going to exchange my phone, but I wanted to see if that is the best course of action.

I usually can fix problems by myself, because I am skilled in Android, but this one I have to turn to my friends in the Android community and ask for some assistance. I was fumbling to mute the tone before it woke up the whole house. But I could not find any option.
