if I am on a call and a new call beeps in, how do I hang up on the existing call and answer the new call?If I select "answer" on the incoming call, it puts my existing call on hold.I don't want to put the existing call on hold, I want to stop that call to answer the new one.

When I'm on a call and a 2nd call comes in, my phone doesn't ring or anything. Is there anyway to change this so that I know when I have a call waiting without having to look at the screen (which is usually pressed up against my ear)?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.
Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)
I have damage control rom on my evo i just notice today when i am running an app or using the internet my incoming call go to voice mail if you were to call me when i am on a app the incoming call don't come through my phone any idea what might be the problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Droid Incredible with the stock OTA froyo pushed by verizon. I did a search and some say that if you're on a phone call, and another call comes in, you are not able to merge that second call so all 3 parties can be on the line, and that it is a limitation of CDMA. Others say that it is carrier specific, and that it has been confirmed not to work with the Evo on sprint, but nothing specific to verizon. Anyone have any info on this? I have been searching, but haven't found a clear answer.
On a side note, since I update to froyo, I've had an issue with call waiting. It seems that when I'm on a phone call, and I receive another call from a person that is on my contacts list and stored in the phone, it will not pull up the persons caller ID info (name, picture etc), it will only display the phone number. It always worked fine before, but this started happening since the update.
I know there are some posts from the group have talked about this ( like https://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/there... and https://groups.google.com/group/android-beginners/browse_thread/threa...), but I can not find exactly the official answer of this issue. in android market, there are some apps which can set up a black list and block the incoming call, see http://www.cyrket.com/search?q=block+call for details. is there something like backdoor or unkown api for blocking incoming call.

Also, sometimes when someone calls it rings and rings on their end and go to my voice mail, but my phone will not even register that they called. I tried to slide it to drop the call and nothing happened. I then mashed a bunch of buttons in frustration and think i rebooted my phone. It did it again to me today, though after about 10 seconds it finally allowed me to answer the phone. I have weatherbug going without GPS as that killed the battery, also have pocket empires going today.

I am looking for a lockscreen replacement that most importantly gives the option to answer calls without using the slidey swipey thingy. Maybe just a answer call button. I have tried goto - that was cool, but still had the swipe to answer. Also i tried screen suite, but that thing didn't replace the home lock screen for some reason. Can you sugget any others you might be using or know of?

When an incoming call comes in after my phone has been dormant for a while (screen off), I am often unable to answer it, because the phone just hangs for about 5 or 10 seconds. That is to say, the phone rings, and the screen lights up and displays the caller ID, but when I try to drag the slider down on the screen to answer the call, nothing happens -- the screen is basically frozen up. It hangs like this for a few seconds -- just long enough that I'm unable to answer the call in time.
Does anyone else have this problem? Do you guys think this is a software issue or a hardware issue? And, most importantly, does anyone know of a fix for this?
Often my Droid will only ring one time for an incoming call. If the call is left unanswered it is auto-answered after a "normal" amount of time. But I can watch the screen of my quiet Droid after the initial ring and count the seconds until it's auto-answered with my recorded greeting. It should be ringing during that time.
It seems to do this randomly, though it's really tough to troubleshoot and tell definitively. I sat for two hours with my wife's Droid, my laptop phone program and our regular house phone and got consistently inconsistent results!
I've yanked every phone call specific app and reinstalled them systematically, rebooting each time. I've taken a look at system apps to see if there is a conflict. I've also looked at (and pulled & reinstalled) audio setting apps looking for a conflict.
I've changed ring tones to MP3 clips, and while they do play in their entirety, they usually repeat and they are not. I've even done a hack to the system/build.prop file that changes the delay before the phone rings.
I just can't seem to figure out what's going on. Anyone have any ideas?
