Dec 21, 2009Is it normal that using the default e-mail app, I can only send hotmails when using Wifi?If i don't have wifi, i can still receive e-mails but not send them.

Apr 5, 2010I haven't had a problem with my email accounts from the time I got my Hero almost two months ago until yesterday. It is a hotmail account and as of yesterday I'm getting a notification that hotmail can not send a message. I rarely use hotmail to send messages, only to receive messages 90% of the time. I'm not sure what could have happened but its kinda bugging me.

Nov 30, 2009I have configured the standard mail app (I think it is the HTC modified version). I sent an email with an attachment today and it never got sent, it is still in the outbox folder. So as a test just now, I sent myself 2 emails (one with an attachment, one without) and only one of the two went through (the one without attachment).

Aug 23, 2010He's set up his gmail and work mail on the phone just fine, but his hotmail is playing silly buggers. The gmail is through that app, the work and hotmail through the desire mail app.
Anyway - he cannot get any hotmail emails into the inbox. When you first set up the account, he gets two 'welcome' mails - the kind you get when you set up the mail account online, welcoming you to your inbox. No other emails ever come through.
However - he can send from it. And it appears in his outbox online.
I looked in the syncing sections and under the exchange active sync - which works for his work - there is no hotmail. Except somehow it must sync somehow as it's sending his hotmail fine...
Motorola Droid X :: Hotmail Account / Importing Old Emails As New
Sep 9, 2010On my Droid X I can add my hotmail account just fine but it starts importing all of my emails saying they're all new. It acts like as if because all of the emails are new to it then it thinks they're new and labels them new so if I have 100 emails that are in my hotmail account none of which are new. I get 100 notifications on my phone as it imports the emails in saying "new" email.

Oct 1, 2010Up until Sept 19, I was able to either hit reply, compose new, or send emails from links/apps without any issues. I use Hotmail and go thru the stock email client on the phone. All of a sudden, every time I try to send an email, it errors out and I get a notice saying it wasn't sent. The phone doesn't give a reason, and the only option is to delete the message. Did the Froyo update mess something up or what? I haven't changed any of the settings on my account and only occasionally had this happen before, but now it happens on every outgoing message.

So, I've stumbled across the answer: Contacts Groupu. I pulled it from the market, and it syncs with the groups you have in your Google Contacts. When you go to view a group, you can toggle to "check all", then hit email and and watch it plug each email address into the "to" field within the native Gmail app.

Mar 13, 2010I'm able to receive my Gmail with the built in Gmail client, but not able to send any. The email just sits in my Outbox in "Sending" status. I've tried waiting, but it never goes through. I eventually go and delete this "Sending" email from the Outbox. However, I'm able to send/receive with the regular Email client that's set up to my work's Exchange server.

Oct 5, 2010I noticed this was happening after I flashed xtrSENSE 4.2 a few weks back. I couldn't send or recieve emails on my phone. I went into the app and cleared cache/data and It works for a few minutes then back to normal. I've read through previous threads and have seen the same tips and tricks. Is anyone else having issues with their gmail? I'm not sure what else I can do besides re wiping (I don't think it has to do with the ROM I flashed so I'm not running to do this)

Nov 16, 2009I got the Droid on the day it came out, set up my email account that I have at GoDaddy.com with IMAP, and now on my GoDaddy webmail there is a new folder that has been created called "Sent." This is in addition to the folder that is called "Sent Items" that is already there by default. My problem, in addition to the new "Sent" folder, is this Every time I send an email from my phone, the message goes to the recipient just fine, but in the new "Sent" folder, the message gets duplicated many times. There can be anywhere from a single duplicate, to many, many more...so much so that my "Sent" folder over the course of a week, will contain upwards of 20,000 sent messages. The messages seem to continue duplicating also - there will be 3 duplicates for example, then an hour later there will be 9. This is madness!I have another email account (not godaddy) that I also have set up with IMAP and it has NO problems at all.
